This is such a good cover! It's one of the ones, like "Wayward Son," that you have to constantly remind yourself it's NOT actual drums, it's our Carrot Lord, Layne! And it's always a bonus when we get to hear his sweet singing voice! Fantastic reaction, per usual!
It had to take a lot of confidence for Layne to decide to take this arrangement on, with its iconic drum line. The fact that he smashed it tells you just how amazing he is. Great reaction!
One of my top 5. All the guys were so very good. Layne's dad provided the Pontiac that he bought new. I'm so glad you did this one. I've been waiting all of my life.
While they were filming this, some random collage-age dudes rolled up and asked them if they needed any background dancers or such. Without missing a beat Layne came back “That depends, are you hot chicks?” They laughed. I thought that was brilliantly handled, Layne told them no but in a way that didn’t bother them.
Absolutely loves this Layne arrangement - and his bravery for taking on an iconic drum riff! To see just how diverse he is - you should watch "In the Hall of the Mountain King" he did for Halloween. They had to do a lot of behind the scenes work for this one - they truly do most/all of it themselves and then still produce knock-out vocals. Thanks for reacting to this. 🌹🕊
I enjoyed your reaction so much- thanks! This one was filmed in the back parking lot, where their back door and loading dock at PattyCake Productions is located at the Oviedo mall in Florida. The car is a 1972 Pontiac LeMans that Layne's father has owned since it was new. Behind the scenes were fun here with it being a hot, humid, very buggy night in the summer and several large fans set up. J None was entertaining singing and making various sounds into the fan and mall shoppers passing by gathered to watch and asked them if they were Pentatonix.
J None was the one (sometimes with Cesar) singing into the fans--the man seems to have unlimited energy! Layne was in charge of this production and was running around dealing with lighting issues, etc.
🎼🎼🎩🎩 ... yeah .... yeah ..... yeah ... way to bring the good stuff !! I really like how they split this song up into different voices. Great share .. thanks for helping my Sunday morning get rolling !! 🎩🎩🎼🎼
So much to enjoy on this one! We even got a ‘vulnerable’ line or two from Layne. His sweet tone was great for the ‘Remember’ lines. And his Beats!!! I like what you had to say about Cesar, but I was thinking ‘wait til you hear him tear it up later!’ I really loved Eli and him passing it back and forth on the ‘screams’. But you mentioned Cesar for R&B and I wanted to say he is also really wonderful for some older songs. Sometimes I think he’s a reincarnated torch singer! Everyone go listen to VoicePlay’s Shorts of “Crazy” and “The Boots Are Made For Walking”. I really wish they would Gimme “Fever”! In case you didn’t realize it, the change in aspect ratio was a nod to VHS, as was the white video crackles. They were aiming for a Miami Vice vibe, since the song was basically premiered on the show. Geoff said he felt like he was dressed for an ‘80s ‘After School Special’
Voiceplay will be premiering their new video today at 11:30am est..... Classical Chaos. It is absolutely fantastic and fun. They brought back the characters from their "In The Hall of The Mountain King" video.
A lot of pauses in this one. It’s understandable… Layne did such a good job on this arrangement there was a lot to take in. 😅 I loved so many little moments but I think my favorite part is when their all just kind of vibin’ at the end.

"If Phil Collins had swag"🤣🤣🤣🤣
Phil Collin's has 80's swag! 😎😎😎
Thousands of people played the air drums with Layne on that iconic part. This is why I always say my favorite song by VoicePlay is the next one.

Thought the same
@@zack_reacts Enjoy church later!
They did the video with a nod to the TV-show "Miami Vice" from the 80s.

there is nothing Eli can’t do he is amazing but then they all are
Yeah, I laughed every time Zack said "I like Eli there." I always like Eli, everywhere.
Apart from just being a stellar cover, this one was so _very_ 80s in every respect that the nostalgia alone blows me away.
I was a little worried when I first saw that they did this. How on earth was Layne going to get that drum riff? Perfectly, I guess. Love this.
I love the way they built this song up from beginning to end, and throwing a bit of dub step in there too 😂 this is one of my favs from them 💜💜

That’s one of my fave things about VoicePlay - mixing up who is singing. I think it helps make their stuff different.
You know we were ALL waiting for it:
Set loose the Layne!
BTW, J None released a video recently; Am I Here. His channel's named itsjnone

When I saw Geoff I thought of Judd Nelson in The Breakfast Club. (Yes, I’m old😂)
@@janetdw Oh YES! especially with the hair! And I'm just as old
1972 Pontiac LeMans😊

Caught this after church but certainly a great vibe for the rest of my day. Thanks

Okay, we all know that Phil Collins is actually Charlie Brown, all grown up, right?😜
