You should definitely try! They might be easier to make than you think because the clay is thick and if there are any imperfections in the design this is considered part of the wabi-sabi aesthetic. Let us know how it goes

yes this works fine. I use a cereal bowl a lot if I am away from my chawan but the chawan is nice for special tea ceremonies
Does Matcha contain any polyphenols or EGCG, if so how much of each?
yes matcha has them, and you actually get a higher amount because you drink the entire leaf
you are using way to much water for Usucha. I have never seen that much water ever used for Usucha
