Born, raised and lived in Omaha most of my life. My hometown is really coming into its own. I was just there a couple of months ago and was amazed by all the construction cranes all over the city.
For the love of God why? There is zero to do here for 6 months out of the year, if this is where you dream retirement home is you need to reevaluate your lifestyle.
Thanks for the Updated Tour!!! Grew up in Omaha. Our Dad would take us Downtown on Saturdays ( 1964etc…) we would go to The Omaha Meat Market, Northup Jones ( coolest bakery Downstairs) cafeteria high stools, counters everywhere) Stockyards, Aksarben…Elmwood Park, Memorial Park, Dundee……..Proud to be A Nebraska Native from Omaha, ❤
I spent the first 26 years of my life in Omaha before getting married and moving away. I still have family there so I come up and visit a few times a year. Thanks for sharing about the downtown area! I love the Old Market.
Omaha is such a hidden gem of a city. I’m in Atlanta and have thoroughly enjoyed all my trips there. I still have a lot of places on my to see and things on my do list there. Atlanta is getting a little too overcrowded for me. Omaha is the perfect size. Big city with a small town feel.
You’re right, Theo… Wayne had a horrible childhood that should make a movie out of it and he turned out wonderful! Wayne said God had a special plan for his life❤️
Great insight look into whats going on in Omaha. I'm not to into urban development but it's an eye opener to see how more advanced cities are becoming than the one I grew up in. Milwaukee is falling so far behind the rest of the cities. Next time I travel for work through Omaha I'm going to venture north and get some of those sewer covers from connie.
Sunday night was a big deal, Wild Kingdom then Disney then Sunday night movie. Beautiful city, the Sculptures are fantastic. Detroit's been doing thru the same rebirth, great to see.
Hey Brad, sure I remember that show ,it was great👍. I'm so glad they are persevering the nice buildings, and the park is beautiful 💗. Does the old market have fruits and veggies and things. A Butcher shop? Gorgeous statue work💯%. Thank you Brad,a lot of things I didn't know😊. JO JO IN VT 💞
Brad what a pretty and we’ll done, display of your city, and yes…I remember that show also! It was very special and still to this day 🎉 i really hope to meet with you one day ☺️I would likely Fly in from Montréal. Cheers
Nice little tour of the town. I thought they were redoing the roads so Flair could get enough of Banjo's meat trucked it. LOL Like they way they mad the "rut" in the concrete too, even thought I don't think the guy pushing the wagon would have had his foot in the center of it. :)
They say there’s more millionaires per capita in Omaha than anywhere else… Well, at least it was that way 15 to 20 years ago. Omaha kind of a best cap secret
@BradtheBuilder Brad, just wanted to say I love your content. So glad you and your family is safe! You and your contractors build sturdy houses! My great grandma lived in Valley where your office is at. Built a house at on Lake Bennington about 15 years ago. If im right it's still there! Hope Flair is OK minus his Barndo Shop
You’re probably right the city has grown a lot, but it still lays out in a grid pattern so it’s easy to find your way around just a lot more neighborhoods
I was wondering the same...Terence Crawford could have fought in many other cities' stadiums/arenas that sold more tickets but he enjoyed fighting there in front of Warren Buffett.
While Jim wrestles the giant anaconda in the river, I wait safely on the shore. You too can remain safe with Mutual of Omaha ! Nope I don't remember that at all. 😏😉🎺🎺
My son-in-law is in the Air Force as a Master Sargent and he's based in Omaha. My 17 year old granddaughter who is 6' tall graduates this May and she already has her pilot's license to fly. There's a building boom here in Northern Idaho. Thirty five years ago the city I live in was just a bedroom community and now it's a going concern and growing out of the seams. But this is a RED state. Blue states are loser, failing states. I remember the Mutual Of Omaha Wild Kingdom. It came on Sunday nights.
That’s exciting that their pilots they’ll have a great career flying when they retire from the Air Force… The big air carriers are always looking for pilots
@@BradtheBuilder I understand the impulse, but you only train them to stay on the streets and sleep under bridges and avoid getting help. You really can't tell what their situation is.
really love your town but it's surprised me you didn't mention one of the greatest investors Of All Times Warren Buffett just thought I would mention that he's been one of my heroes he started the giving pledge with Bill Gates both of them have donated billions of dollars to charity and once again thank you for the video
Hahaha fuck both of them, they donate pennies of what they are worth. Buffet is much better than gates though. I live in omaha and no one talks about him, he's not a part of daily life in any way or worth mentioning
I was just down there last weekend and was thinking how much my town has changed! Awesome to see as it grows into a real city!
Born, raised and lived in Omaha most of my life. My hometown is really coming into its own. I was just there a couple of months ago and was amazed by all the construction cranes all over the city.
Living in the SFO Bay area....its refreshing to see a normal city ... thanks for the great tour 👍
Thanks so much for watching
Marlin Perkins was my hero… I love Omaha. Great town…. I plan on living there when I retire…
When are you going to retire? 🤔
For the love of God why? There is zero to do here for 6 months out of the year, if this is where you dream retirement home is you need to reevaluate your lifestyle.
4:46 the citys working on making the old market less scary at night they are going to be adding lights and claing up allies
Good, it's trash. just a few blocks in any direction and you'll hear gunshots or get robbed
Don't forget to visit the beautiful Joslyn Museum and the amazing zoo.

You really know your town… Do you remember Pennie Park?
Don't forget the zoo ❤ it's a enjoyable time and they rent mobility wheel chairs
You’re right we have the number one zoo in the country👍
Thanks for the tour! Looking to get out of Illinois and Omaha looks great!!

Loved the trip to downtown Omaha!
There’s a lot more to see than what I showed
Cool place...thanks for the tour
Pretty cool, thanks for sharing.
I’m glad you liked it… I left out a lot of other fun stuff. Maybe I’ll do another one.?
Good stuff Brad. Thanks🙂
The new library is being constructed on the SW corner of 72nd and Dodge.
The tour video was cool, i live in omaha too and still learned something lol. Downtown is really changing and growing fast. It was pretty rough before
Wayne is a really good guy. He could teach a lot of people about how you can succeed even if you start at rock bottom…

It’s so nice now! ❤️

I saw how nice Detroit city looks with the NFL draft going on👍
That was some simple times back in the wild Kingdom days and Sunday night TV when you had to be there to watch the show or you missed it forever!
Very interesting. Thanks Brad .
👍🤠

Yeah there's still a farmers market on the weekends downtown
@@chriscanterbury8647 you’re right the old market has a weekend farmers market… But there’s no Butcher stands there now in the grocery stores

Good point! I didn’t notice that with the rut
I work at mutual and they still talk about wild kingdom. Still a very big part of us.
That was quite the marketing plan. They had 50 years ago.
Super great video Brad!!! Place looks awesome
Thank you
Very interesting Brad. I guess I never thought about Omaha being so big.

Cool, little video.
Stadium is 14-15 years old. Crazy used to live in Old Market
That old market has changed so much. It’s a happening place.

It has been 25 years since I lived in Nebraska. I don't think I could find my way around in Omaha or Lincoln anymore. Went to a few concerts in Omaha.
You’re probably right the city has grown a lot, but it still lays out in a grid pattern so it’s easy to find your way around just a lot more neighborhoods
@@BradtheBuilder, the easy way to remember the main streets was, Harby - Farny - Dougy - Dodge 😂.
From the area, messaged you on IG about if you ever dealt with my late father. He was a framing sub for Sherwood homes and later had Timeless Homes.
I believe they're building a streetcar too
Yes that’s right

Born and raised in Omaha and still lives here… He’s building a big house. I wish he would’ve picked me to build it.
This would have been a good one to take FLAIR along with. His input would be highly regarded for newcomers.
That’s a good idea. There’s a lot of parts Of Omaha we didn’t point out. Maybe I’ll make another video with him.?
Hopefully my hogs make it Omaha this year. 🐗

Thanks for touring it for me so now I don’t have to go 😂
But you haven’t seen our world-class zoo
omg brad smacked the brass ass
That’s right!!!
There's so much construction going on in Michigan. HOME OF THE 2024 NFL DRAFT.
I saw that! Exciting 👍
Brad I live by the Donner party fiasco! Have that wagon train come by here ? We will eat them!
I'm going to have to become a luxury home builder in Omaha.
I’ll sell you my company
Are you sure about all this Brad? I think there's enough people in Omaha already. We're at maximum capacity.
