Polls indicate 😂😂😂 Love that remainers know that leave voters would now vote to remain given the chance. Bit like they were so convinced we wouldnt vote out in the first place 😂 Sorry but i know not one person who voted leave that would now vote differently.
This bloke talks out of his A - I’m typical Joe Public myself- and I can’t find anyone amongst my friends and thousands of people I associate with that want to remain they aren’t as stupid as this bloke thinks and they realise that the brexit everyone wanted and still do isn’t being delivered- but haven’t changed their mind .
During the Leave/Remain campaign a number of different versions of Leave were promoted that could not all be delivered because they were not consistent. For example, some leavers wanted to stay in a customs union and others did not. There was agreement about some important intended goals, but not all. Some people were always going to be disappointed. There never was such a thing as the Leave deal everyone wanted. On top of that, there was no clear plan about how particular goals could be reached without making other goals difficult or impossible. For example, controlling the transport of goods across the land border on the island of Ireland so that standards of goods can be different on each side of the border (making the most of our sovereignty) does not help sign a good trade deal with an American president, Senate and House who want votes from many other Americans proud of their Irish roots. (Remember that the IRA raised a lot of their funds from sympathisers in New York back in the day.) I do not believe that the Leave benefits that everyone wanted will ever be delivered because they never could be delivered. Having said that, a better government than our current cabal of clowns and crooks might have been able to reach better Leave deals with the EU and other trade partners. (The "I" in UKIP was for Independence, not Isolation: wasn't it?) That ship has sailed. Any improvements will be difficult, take time and more imagination than has been shown so far. But we shall see.... Your friends and associates will have a long wait for what they wanted, unfortunately.
ONLY 26% of the 'British People' voted Leave in the EU referendum of 2016 [advisory and non-binding]. And that meant leaving with some sort of deal or a significant degradation of our trade, and the 'Oven Ready Deal' is pretty thin at that! And the EU has directly MEPs that ARE accountable to the public, they hold the power not the 'unelected bureaucrats' that implement, as does our Civil Service, what the politicians decide in the PR EU Parliament!!
@@paulrainer100 Good, glad to be out, only Northern Ireland to get rid of & that sorts out any border issues at a stroke, get on with it and ditch Northern Ireland ASAP!
Don't know why the headline states that British public regret leaving the EU when we never have - not really. We've simply been in a holding pattern coz no one had an actual plan for what to do, should the referendum result favour an out vote. Caught Cameron unawares, and so rather than cop the blame, he ran away from politics, never to be seen since, thankfully. If only the War Criminal Tony Blair would do the same, instead of sticking his beak in where it's not wanted, but I digress, somewhat. And Brexit has never been delivered to the British public, it was a case of 'BRINO' !
Did we ever leave? We continued paying into the EU and now we are slowly being signed back in. After we voted to leave it was saddening to see members of our own government, Whitehall, the EU and even memebers of the public doing their best to throw spanners into the works because they could not accept the result of a democratic vote.
Again for the 50% stupid Brits (I love the other 50%): 1. you save 10 billion pounds net because you don't have to pay any more EU contribution. 2. you lose 100 billion pounds because you no longer get trade benefits. 3. normally you realise from the 3rd year of school: this is unfavourable and very unwise of the UK. Everyone on the planet - except you, Brits - gets it.
That was paid for by the £100-100 billion a year in EU trade benefits given to British firms. Bloomberg published this in the spring. Pre-Brexit: Paid: 6-10 billion pounds net EU membership fee. got: 100 billion pounds in trade benefits = 90 billion surplus as an EU member. Post-Brexit: Paid: £0, so saved £6-10 billion net NOT got: 100 billion pounds in trade benefits = 90 billion loss because of Brexit Everyone else on the planet can do the math, you Brits ... By the way: That's why the NHS doesn't get any money from the saved EU contribution. There is nothing, on the contrary, there is even less now.
How did Keir Starmer put his foot in it? He said nothing about rejoining the EU. I can see the knuckle draggers congregating here. Try and do your own thinking.
All the issues stem from 1. our Parliaments' failure/unwillingness to properly prepare for our departure (incl.Teresa May's supplication to EU demands from the very outset), and 2. The EU's "cornered dog" approach to trade negotiations. Our referendum result hurt them. Alot. Each institution also tried to overturn the referendum result and thereby squandered over four years of serious preparatory time (intentionally?). Unlike other trade negotiations around the world, there will be no pragmatism in our dealings with the EU. We must be punished and our treatment be a warning to other potential dissenters within the burgeoning EU federal state. Need more proof that Westminster and Whitehall continue to oppose our "supposed" departure from the EU................just how many Prime Ministers have we gone through since 2016. I voted leave, and would vote leave again. Only this time with even more conviction.
Leaving the EU was an emotional spasm sparked by the loony right with the help of the tory tabloids. Economically, it is a disaster for manufacturing in the uk and led to mountains of red tape for exporters. We have shot ourselves in both feet. But, hey, we have a new blue passport to join the queue with!! 🥴

Thank God for Keir Starmer, the grown-ups are returning to the room. It would be lunacy to diverge any further from EU standards, which are much higher than Britain’s. @MrAndyblue52 yes we have! This is brexit. The choice is whether to stay aligned with our nearest neighbours' trading rules or not. If we choose "not" then we have to find enough trading partners, literally thousands of miles away, adding to the cost of imports and exports making our goods less competitive.
(Remember that the IRA raised a lot of their funds from sympathisers in New York back in the day.)
I do not believe that the Leave benefits that everyone wanted will ever be delivered because they never could be delivered.
The Best thing we ever did leaving the eu. It just needs finishing

I've not changed my mind about leaving the EU, None of the people i know who voted to leave have changed there minds.
Did we ever leave? We continued paying into the EU and now we are slowly being signed back in. After we voted to leave it was saddening to see members of our own government, Whitehall, the EU and even memebers of the public doing their best to throw spanners into the works because they could not accept the result of a democratic vote.
Again for the 50% stupid Brits (I love the other 50%):
1. you save 10 billion pounds net because you don't have to pay any more EU contribution.
2. you lose 100 billion pounds because you no longer get trade benefits.
3. normally you realise from the 3rd year of school: this is unfavourable and very unwise of the UK. Everyone on the planet - except you, Brits - gets it.
We’ve been out of the EU for seven years and we’ve gone down the toilet.
Why rejoin the EU they got the same problems as us even worse in some EU countries.
We should never have left.
What a Pillock!
I voted leave the only regret i have was trusting the consocialists to deliver Brexit
How we managed to find £347 net every week to be in that organisation is beyond me. !
That was paid for by the £100-100 billion a year in EU trade benefits given to British firms. Bloomberg published this in the spring.
Pre-Brexit:
Paid: 6-10 billion pounds net EU membership fee.
got: 100 billion pounds in trade benefits
= 90 billion surplus as an EU member.
Post-Brexit:
Paid: £0, so saved £6-10 billion net
NOT got: 100 billion pounds in trade benefits
= 90 billion loss because of Brexit
Everyone else on the planet can do the math, you Brits ...
Of cource not.

Thank God for Keir Starmer, the grown-ups are returning to the room. It would be lunacy to diverge any further from EU standards, which are much higher than Britain’s. We only have to look at our waters, stream and seas to see raw sewage legally being pumped into them on a regular basis, and the fact that the water companies factor in the pitiful so-called fines into their business model speaks volumes.
