I knew about the rough idle and low-end miss before I bought it, they told me about it. They don't do test rides, it's their policy dealership-wide, but they did let me rev the engine and listen to the miss. They said they tried replacing spark plugs and coils, I told them they were looking in the wrong place, it's not the ignition system. Someone de-catted the exhaust and didn't install a fuel controller, so the fuel map is probably out of whack. Luckly, I managed to find a PCV to put on it. (The new PC6s are restricted to a %15 adjustment limit, try to find an older model if you can, or go with a Bazzaz or a Juicebox.) Edit: Turns out the miss was coming from one of the primary fuel injectors. Fixed it in an hour.
Paused your video at 32 seconds in. 2007, I was in gulf shores Alabama with some friends. Dude pulled up on a brand new one, 22 miles on it. I was 18 years old, love at first sight. Well, 16 years later I finally got one. Well I got divorced back in February and finally 2 months ago I found one with 2100 miles on it. Immaculate condition with full akrapovic exhaust. 🔥
Hello from Germany. Got the same bike same color. I always wanted to have this bike... was 18 years old when it came out so it was way to expensive for me at this time. Till this day I think it's the most beautiful GSX-R 1000. I always had im my head to get a blue white one because it's the most common color sheme and I didn't know about the orange one. But when I first saw my dream bike in this color it was totally clear that it has to be exactly this bike... 2021 after 12 years on my ZX9R I finally bought a orange k7 from its first owner (a 60 year old lady - no joke) with 14.xxx km on it (8600 miles) for 5600€ in decent condition. I'm so happy with this bike❤
Great video, I love the k7 , it was my dream bike to. Got it 2 years ago in California from an old guy. Same color with everything stock on it. I’ve done a lot of modifications to it. I love this bike!!!!!
K8 GSXR 1000 have old school ball-bearing headstem bearings and race ,being old bike highly recommend Changing headstem bearings to tapered bearings ,or at least regrease bearings they be dry for sure .
My dream bike also, had mines for two years now , Red Bull colorway, with a 330 tire kit , but it won’t kickover or hold an idle , no codes showing ; I’m try the GPS sensor you said in your other vid ; thanks 😎
@@lonelyryder7441 will do , the fuel pump is priming, it’ll start if I twist the throttle but dies when I let off , I think it’s the GPS , or bad fuel injectors. I let yah know if it works 🙏🏽😎
I should make a video on that sometime, but in short it's a great bike. It has the best version of the legendary K5 motor, an engine that Suzuki still uses to this day in their naked GSX-S1000 and its variants. It was also the first bike that Suzuki introduced the selectable drive mode system on (something that didn't exist yet at the time). But one big complaint that fans had about the 07-08 was that it was heavier than the previous gen, but most of that extra weight was because emissions got stricter that year and it needed a bigger/heavier exhaust to meet regs. But everyone removes the stock exhaust anyway ;). The other thing fans complained about was the hydraulic clutch, it just made no sense. Why would you put a luxury item that adds more weight onto a race bike that is supposed to be as light as possible? It was a stupid idea, which is why they went back to a cable system in 2009. If you want proof of the K5's legendary status, just watch the video below. Watch it to the end. :) ruclips.net/video/q0O8Q0x38mI/видео.html
Linda moto, meus parabéns! Esse laranja trilcolt é perfeito. Tive uma Hayabusa nessa cor ano 2008. Hoje tenho uma GSX-R 1000 igual a sua na com amarela no Brasil. 🍀🎁💯🏆🥇🍾🥂👊🏾✌🏾
I bought this same bike a few months ago for 9k flat with about 3100 miles on it. I barely ride it. Can you tell me what’s special about having an 07 1000? I have no idea
Its the best looking gsxr, i got h2, mt10, zx6r 2020 and 2021 hayabusa and now im finally gonna get this thing after 3 years of saying im gonna get it 😂
@@specops1903 Try to find a PCIII or a PCV if you can, they are unrestricted models, but they are getting harder to find. They do make a new PC6 for the Z1000 also, but the 6 series is restricted to a 15% fuel change limit. This would probably still be good enough for a street naked like the Z1000, but it's not enough for a supersport with ram air like the GSXR. Hope that helps!
No red flags went off when they told you that you couldnt test ride it lmao?

You are lucky to get one with miles that low! Nice!

A 60-year-old lady, that's hilarious!🤣 Congrats man!
I love how these bike still looks like new till this day🔥🔥
I know, both my bikes are in very good condition for their age. It's nice when you can find those gems.

I got mine about 5 months ago. Been wanting one since my buddy had his in 2008. I love this bike and color. (6400 miles) now about 9k.
You have a lot less miles than I do, lol! Mine has 31k on the clock, but the K5 motor will last a long time if you take care of it.
Pay top dollar but couldn't believe the mileage on the bike
My brother ended up finding it for me. He wrecked my 04 ZX10 and this was the best replacement ever bro
Congrats on the purchase! Looks like this is gonna be real fun, especially after you've sorted the exhaust and misfire
TODAY: i bought one and its a dream comes true.......LOVE this coulour......Greets from Germany
congratz bro on the new bike 🤩
Thanks ✌️

Does it have a gas gauge or just a gas warning light?

If that doesn't help, I would check the ignition and fuel delivery systems next.

The culprit was old spark plugs 🤣

That’s a Taylormade exhaust, I had one on my K8 when I bought it. Wasn’t a big fan of it either.
Thanks, now that you mention it, I think I have heard of that brand before. Personally, I'm a Yoshimura fan ;)
How do you feel about the bike? I bought an 07 GSXR red/orange too. Whats your pros and cons

Can you throw a PC on the first gen Z1000?
I put a PCIII USB on mine a couple years ago.
