- Tap down or tap forward and go to neutral! This will extend the time that your parry will be active. Of course parrying comes with risks. If you tap down to parry a low attack and your opponents hits an attack that connect be parried low, you will be punished in addition to taking 25% more damage while crouching!

Ur a blessing to the new gen
for forward parry, you have 6 frames when you tap, and only 4 when you hold.. and red parry will only have 4 frames of room
down parry, only tap and you get 4 regardless you hold or not...
during a parry, the object of being parried will freeze for 11 frames, thats why it is not a good idea to parry a super fireball, because you are freezing the fireball, and after about 3 parries, your opponent will be at your face.
there are actually 5 classes of attacks.
over head, high, standing mid, crouching mid and low
over head, must be block or parry while standing
high, block or parry while standing, can be ducked under
standing mid, can be blocked standing or crouch, but only forward parry, for example, ryu, akuma, alex meaty mk
crouching mid, can be blocked or parried, standing or crouching, e.g. any non-sweeping crouching punches
low, only low block or parry.
I thought red parry had to be frame perfect
@@curtissnellings1421 still four frames, but much harder because you are moving from blocking position to forward instead of starting from neutral, meaning your joystick have further distance to travel within the 4 frames before the next hit connects
Does that mean dudley rose setup followed by super is impossible? you would parry/freeze the rose but dudley isnt frozen so he hits you? There is no way to parry out of a rose setup then if its followed by super fast enough. Or a fireball and they are within range to hit you hit while you parry it. You cant parry two times instantly.
@@wildwest1832 during a parry freeze, your character is invulnerable (except for throws) so the super won't hit you until you are out of that blue flash, which you can choose to parry/block/use a super of your choice to answer his super. However, if he chooses to throw you then you are out of luck.
And in Dudley's case.
Why would he throw out a super when it's not confirmed? The recovery will get punished big time.
And if you are the receiving end of the rose, just block after the parry when you see the super flash and you can do the punish later
@@blvk3 Ah okay thx for the answer. Yeah, your right not super just a move. A high low mixup with the rose and hitting you at the same time usually a chip out at the end. I think I got it now
2:39 damn! Fast hands! I slowed it down to a quarter and can barely see the 720 input.
That's explains why I tend to parry more when relaxed. I can't believe that I didn't know about keeping it in neutral for the parry for decades. now I need to learn how to do the standard Fierce to Super combos, and all the circles movement.
Wait what do you mean keeping it in neutral?? Its easy to parry when standing still??
one thing I didn’t know for a long time… if you try to parry something, means if you press forward there is an amount of frames where you can’t throw TECH ! Since I know this my defence improved a lot… I don’t try to parry everything… especially if I see that my opponent likes dashing into throwing! I know parrying feels amazingly satisfying but it can obviously be the wrong decision in some cases
Thanks for the advice, this help since I’ve a hard time parrying and reading hits (especially against shoto players)
this
As someone trying to get back into SF this video is a blessing.
How goes it
I’m learning 3rd strike and street fighter for the first time, having a hard time finding resources tbh
Lol I just played 3rd Stike for the first time this weekend after getting the anniversary collection cheap on the PS store. I didn’t even know how to parry before this video, but this seems way above my level.
Bit daunting but I’ll give it a go!
wanna play some 3s? its been 2 days since u posted this...did u throw in the towel yet? haha
Start your parry career with just fireballs from a safe distance. Don’t try to parry lots of other attacks early on. Once you get comfortable with fireballs from a safe distance you’ll find yourself parrying ex fireballs or multiple fireballs in row like clockwork and then it opens up your confidence for other attacks like stuff on wakeup or dps/chariot tackles. My favorite parry in a match was ryus denjin fireball. It comes with time and repetition
Same, man! I got the anniversary collection about 3 months ago. 3rd Strike has easily become my favorite Street Fighter game. I still find the parry mechanic tough, though. I've definitely seen improvements over time. But this is my first time hearing about a red parry!
@@Redostern whats your psn
It is hard, but thats why people have played 3s for 10+ years. It has so much depth to it. You can always get better
Thanks for thoroughly explaining this
red parry also changes the duration of time (versus simply blocking, or parrying) before their sequence will end.
Your doing a very good job bro. I like watching you teach.
Read Parry or Red parry? I need to listen to this when I’m not driving.
mike ler it’s red parry
Tre Moore got it thanks
So are u commenting while driving then? :S 😨
The color
Started learning the gane and using Dudley for Combo Breaker. This is a god send😊
I'm so glad to see that you went back to an arcade stick for 3S! I did the same as well because the muscle memory is to heavily engraved when playing this game. Hitbox for SFV, Arcade stick for 3S.
Thank you. I’m new to the game, and a Hugo player. You’re a huge help.
getting into third strike, really useful information
Your hands are so fast. I can tell your definitely in your comfort zone
No intro no nothing this man starts is video in the midle of a sentence
Tackle tackle headbutt
Real awesome bro, how about trying the DAIGO PARRY😀
a good parry needs to be followed by a good KO sound XD
0.5 speed, you are drunk bro 😅
Hey, man; thx for the video, I'm really bad at parrys xd. I'm new to Sf3 and to the FGC in general, so what character would you guys recomend for someone who's starting to play? I tried to learn Hugo, but I can't do the 360 motion on my xbox controler :(. Recently I started to learn Ryu, he's cool, so I thought I'd stick with him for now. Also, are there any worth watching Ryu players besides Vanao? Thx in advance.
Ken Chun and Alex are really good for beginners imo, followed up Ryu Dudley and Yang. You can always search TheShend's youtube channel for Ryu players
2:39 How did you get the 720 out SO FAST?!
What console are you u playing with?
This is some esoteric shit
How do you parry back to back to back???
Nice, subbed.
Is that the old version of fightcade or something?
Cause even the latest version doesn’t have stage select or all those options?
Nah that's the anniversary collection
Yo! Does anybody know of a good Third Strike Dudley player that I can watch? All I've found was JR, but he's an Akuma main.
ruclips.net/video/g8qVqvz1zGY/видео.html
Kokujin is pretty good.
MaxOwnzor2 The Lawnmower Maximillian dood has a lot of Third strike Dudley videos he plays all the characters pretty good.
mate, Maximillian is decent at best with Dudley. Kokujin on the other hand is a veteran 3S dudley player.
Fugiwara, very old player but one of my favs. Kokujin is a monster Dudley as well.
Cool Lesson Dude Keep it up!
This literally the only street fighter noob video I could find, god this community seems so hard to get into 😭
Hey man is that a ps3/xbox360 stick? Is compatible?
much love dog thank you for this
wait so using neutral makes It easier to high parry?
Yuh
I'd love to see a video about reversals in 3s. I heard in some tournaments that they're not invincible or not fully invincible but I'm not really sure. Are wake up dps a thing in this game? I couldn't find any info online.
Yeah some supers actually are invincible, like Chun-Li's SA2. They're just typically faster. There are invincible moves like Ken's HP DP, but his jab dp isn't actually invincible... again it's just fast.
How do you parry on controller (PS4)
Same thing goes for controllers. You can tap or hold the stick or dpad forward or down depending on which move you’re trying to parry.
Cool we both have same stick lol
Also 720 is hype as FWUCK
I fucking love 3s but felt the collection version to have delay. I guess I'm just way too used to fightcade, ended up selling my game and PS4 because I was so bummed out, not being able to play all the characters as smoothly as I want. Shame, I might give it a second chance, but idk
Its weird cause i feel like fightcade has a slight delay compared to the old og console release. It feels like when doing multi hit parries, i have to input forward quite a bit ahead of the next hits active frames, leading to me feeling out of sync with the rhythm. Where as before i use to feel like i was tapping parry right on time with the attacks on screen
Great!
Are you using the 30th anniversary edition?
He is
Sup kid?? Thanks for the parry tips.
Gotta be less predictable
Does anyone know what the name of the Arcade Stick he's using?
Quanba Q4
I'm now a sub and a God @ parrying?
I'm on board with both of these things
What platform is this?
I'm using a xbox 360 controller how do I parry with that??
Same for normal controllers: either the d pad or thumbstick, tap forward at the right timr
@@nebiyuesayas5600 I discovered it waaay before u sent this reply
@@awesomaaa just making sure
@@nebiyuesayas5600 your too late my dude
What button to press to parry
press towards the opponent or downward, depending on the attack.
SGGK
I did not see one red parry. And did not learn anything.
campos3452 he parried ken's target combo. Idk why hugo didn't flash red. Training mode glitch maybe.
there's nothing about Parrying here, dislike
It's kinda sad people are asking how to parry in general it's obvious you only played sfv and no other game I mean yeah there are those people who've never played it period but damn
Acting like it's bad to not know everything about a 20 year old game is just discouraging new players. They need to find out somehow. What better way than to have veterans help them?
Oliver Misbach if only it was a port of the online edition I believe it would help out alot imo when I didn't understand how to do it I did the parry training until I had it to a tee
Oh yeah, I forgot that version had parry training. That would be a great help. It's unfortunate the 30th anniversary collection is so bare bones.
Oliver Misbach that's what I'm sayinggg
This version does not have parry practice however.
