Jazz has the best commercial break animation tbh. It just oozes so much of his personality.
It's honestly criminal that Jazz hasn't been pushed as much in TF modern media. Dude's got such a cool and likeable personality that's it's impossible to dislike him. Even in they Bay movies, many agree that he was killed off way too early. Still I'd imagine he's just as dangerous that you wouldn't imagine due to his chill personality, he is a special op saboteur after all.
I think main reason is they pushed bumblebee to be be primes cool flashy right hand man. So jazz is redundant in modern media. But I love jazz so much. He was my first TF toy ever and he deserves hella love.

Jazz is one of the main character who's personality hasn't changed since G1. Not only that his voice actors throught out the years give Jazz a cool and earth loving culture. I hope he appears in Rise of the beasts sequel in which we would get him to transform into a Porsche.
I doubt he will. Mirage stole his vehicle mode. Also, Hasbro is afraid that he's too offensive and a stereotype like Skids and Mudflap, despite the fact that Jazz isn't a stereotype and is loved by many.
White people don't like him and Hasbro knows this so they aren't going to risk losing money

Megatron ate his spark in a deleted scene but it had to be cut out of the final film,that would have been traumatizing for kids in the audience.

Sometimes I say to myself "Damn, I wish a different Autobot was included in the movie to take the bullet for Jazz" and then I realize that this franchise is so big and long-lived that adding a different character that wasn't a completely new one would have just shifted this feeling to thepeople who like THAT bot, idk I just wish we spent more time with Jazz in the Bayverse and stuff... I also wish the Bayverse had better character writing and we actually got to know the autobots better but that's besides the point.
I'm glad that no matter the continuity he's in Jazz is still the coolest bot around.

In my Transformers audio drama, I have Jazz included in the main cast of Autobots. I personally see him as the heart and soul of the team, and I use his reveal the shield figure as his model.
His personality is similar to that of G1, and he's always positive and optimistic in almost every situation. He loves to crack a joke every so often, can use his speakers to his advantage if the situation calls for it, and enjoys spending time around humans, studying their culture.
Jazz is one of the most awesome characters in the whole franchise. His G1 version will always be the best, IMO, and it's a shame he isn't featured more. Great video.

G1 Jazz will always be my favorite. I have the G2 reissue with the #1 deco and pieces of his original toy. The transformation still holds up to today and is far better than the Prime Wars one. The SS86 Jazz is a good successor.
Jazz was my first (non-minibot) transformer, and since I'm also a musician, will always hold a special place in my heart. I've collected every iteration of him possible..... my little jazz ensemble so to speak.
Without question G1 jazz is the best of all. Scatman Crothers brought a distinct personality to the character that is sorely lacking in later iterations. He was also a wonderful Screen Actor a musician.
Fun fact: Scatman Crothers also voiced the character: ScatCat in Aristocats

I am sick and tired that movies and shows don't include Jazz as a core member of the autobot team he is basically an underrated bot and should be treated with way more love and respect and he should be one of the top dogs moving forward
Jazz has always been one of my favorites in franchise. I remember when I was 12 years old and saw the 2007 movie. I was so gutted when he was killed off. Definitely made me appreciate his deluxe figure even more.
Jazz is in my Top 5 all time favorite and most awesome Transformers of all time!! He got robbed of being Optimus' second in command on Earth! R.I.P. Scatman! You were awesome!

Jazz is always be the coolest and one of the best autobots. Its sad to see such an iconic and fan favorite character forgotten as his last appearance on tv was RID 2015 and his name called out in cyberverse. I hope that someday jazz will return to live action or tv with his iconic personality of loving music. Still G1 Jazz will never be forgotten
My own G1 epilogue is that Jazz eventually “retires” from the Autobots, and then relocates to Atlanta, and takes on a second career as a music producer.
Jazz is the best character in all of Transformers, no matter if it’s G1 or Animated.
It is such a shame that we do not see Jazz at all in modern Transformers media. The last time we saw him was in RID 2015 and that just sucks. Plus they replaced him by Mirage in Rise Of The beasts. I miss Jazz so much.

Um, no, Jazz wasn't replaced by Mirage in RotB. I haven't see RotB yet, but from what I know Mirage is basically a younger, more immature G1 Mirage, with TFP Smokescreen mixed in. Jazz is always the fun, chill Autobot, but the difference is, hes still mature & serious when he needs to be. & I hope we can see Jazz in the Knightverse at some point!!
@@fennekin1750 You are right Mirage is too child like to replace Jazz, but it still was a cheap shot when they used the Porsche for Mirage´s vehicle mode, but i guess it would be really weird to see racing car without a driver passing by on the road if they used his OG vehicle mode. 😆
@@jaromirstark6636 I've seen RotB now & what I said before was immediately confirmed. & its interesting that Mirage is a kinda multi-changer? Or was it his illusions? Or both? & he technically turned into his F1 mode for a sec. Anyway, I think it'd be AWESOME for Jazz to be introduced in a future movie & be a sorta mentor to Mirage, & teach him how to be more mature, I guess. I think it'd be cool! & Jazz could maybe be a Porsche, but hes white with darker blue & maybe some red, to look different from Mirage who is silver & with a lighter blue stripe.

Mirage didn't steal Jazz's personality. Jazz is chill & fun, yes, but hes still serious & mature when he needs to be. My favorite Autobot of them all.
When I was a little kid in the early 1990s, Jazz's G2 figure (essential a G1 reissue with new decals and a GI Joe missile launching weapon) was my first Transformers figure ever. However, it was the G2 "series" (which were just a bunch of select episodes from the original G1 cartoon with special effects) that made me a bigger fan of Jazz. Other than Scatman Crothers's talented voice (RIP), I like Jazz's hip, cool, chilled, and friendly personality; a laidback Autobot who loves Earth culture and music, yet is also a reliable and effective soldier to the Autobot cause.
If it weren’t considered a marketing tool, I think Jazz should have been the next Prime in the ‘86 movie.
Animated Jazz is my favorite.

Primarily because of admiration for Scatman Crothers (hey, we all loved Hong Kong Phooey back in the day!), Jazz was briefly my favourite Autobot. He was soon superseded by his lieutenant buddy Prowl, but Jazz had the lock on the number two position and still does to this day.
I think the closest Jazz got to a spotlight episode was "Attack Of The Autobots." Despite Ratchet and Sparkplug bickering about who saved the day, it was who Jazz knocked Blue Streak back to his senses, then restabilized Ratchet and Hound, then transformed ON TOP of Skyfire to deliver a musical sonic boom to the Decepticon rocket! And of course, he co-starred with Perceptor in "The God Gambit."

My Jazz will always be G1, although I love all versions of him for the simple fact that his demeanor/personality remains consistent. Scatman (and the voice actor for Blaster) nailed those characters! Also, Jazz had one of the sweetest transformation sequences ever on G1. My studio ‘86 version hangs out in my man cave with Soundwave 😎

Jazz is literally my favorite character he's even my profile pic. I grew up with the bayverse and I felt his death in the live action film was totally criminal and lack of potential/character development they never mentioned him again or thought of bringing him back with the shard of the allspark. Even for ROTB I thought that was just a crime in plain slight don't get me wrong I loved mirage but still have issue with him having the alt mode of an iconic character. I honestly wish returns for future TF media.

G1 Jazz is the Jazz that I came up with. However, the IDW comic iteration is a pretty well done take, too.
Plus, the comics showed Jazz struggling with PTSD over his murder of Powell
Jazz is definitely a fan favorite as he’s just fantastic in Transformers G1 and it was cool he appeared in other Transformers shows and movies such as Transformers 2007 movie and Transformers Animated. It’s a shame he wasn’t in The War For Cybertron Trilogy on Netflix, but at least he was in the War for Cybertron games.

a awesome review. Jazz has always been one of my favorite autobots from G1 Next to optimuse prime and ironhide. I always loved him as g1 and voiced by the late great Scatman chrothers. i was really hoping that he was in rise of the beasts but we all know what happend to that dream (lol). but i enjoyed the movie and jazz is one of my all time favorite autobots.

Fun Fact: movie Jazz's alt mode was actually custom built since the Solstice exclusively comes as a convertible.
Ironic that a "Transformer," in the live action movies at least, wouldn't be a "convertible" until Dark of the Moon. And it wasn't even a new character for that movie, seeing as it was Sideswipe, who first appeared in Revenge of the Fallen, where his alt mode had a roof.
Fun Fact: Alternator Sideswipe was also a convertible. You needed to "put the top down" for robot mode, by which I mean replace the roof with a separate piece while the real roof becomes a shield accessory. I don't think a soft top would work too well as a shield though. Man I wish they'd bring back Alternators/Human Alliance style figures.

As a kid back in the 80s, obviously Prime was my hero. But Jazz was always one of my favorites.
I agree Jazz was one of my favorites growing up watching the reruns of the series as sadly I was only old enough to see it in reruns. But yeah Jazz was my favorite. Which yes I agree his visor look was a huge selling point. He just looked and oozed cool.

G1 Jazz, Bayformers Jazz, War/Fall of Cybertron Jazz and RID2015 Jazz are my favorite. Sucks he I mean she didn't got in Transformers Cyberverse. And I am not joking Cyberverse make Jazz as a female to be honest I would like to see it as one time. But I hope Jazz join in the battlefield he is the coolest Autobot ever. Easily number one character in G1 imho, I cant believe Takara haven't done a masterpiece, especially since they have the VW rights a Porche should be a formality.
Porsche has refused to lend Takara the license for Transformers (except for Tomica) ever since Alternators, regardless if they're owned by Volkswagen. They may soften up after Rise of the Beasts, but it remains to be seen.
Fantastic video RodimusPrimal!!! Jazz is among my top four all time favorite Autobots, along with Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, and Fortress Maximus. :D He is to this day the coolest of the Autobots. My favorite version of Jazz is his G1 version, and my all time favorite Jazz action figure is the 2011 Reveal the Shield deluxe class Jazz. Keep on being amazing.
