Duncan’s initial reaction to Adeline makes me wonder if this is the first time such a thing has happened or not.
How do you know his name
@@That1str1ker its on the corkboard, and in the credits.
@@noinfo4789 k, thanks
@No Info, you should probably change your username now.😄
Probably this happens before
Seeing Adeline melt away like that was heartbreaking. Like, you could clearly see how scared/how much pain she was in.
The part where we see half of her face missing and see I think her rough sketch ( which I would say is the toons equivalent to a skeleton) makes it a little more morbid than it actually is. Reminds me of judge Doom's death from who framed rogger rabbit.
its also how she tried to put her arm back on then died moments later :(
@@shadeskitsune7830 I just wanted to reach out and comfort her in her final moments. Off course, she's easy to bring back to life, she just needs to be drawn again, but how can you think that when she melts so graphically?
Yeah poor little thing😢
that makes me sad :(
I love how whenever the toon is moving around, her little squeaks she makes remind me of the noises markers make when you push too hard on them
I know!
Or there about to dry out

wow this is a good 2D and 3D animation I think this will be number one many people will like this is a real nostalgia and work of art I hope it's number one on RUclips xd
The rubber hose animation is so amazingly well done, but the CGI could really use some work. Bravo for the great work!
THIS IS SO GOOD LIKE WOW! WELL DONE TO THE TEAM THAT WORKED ON IT
LOVE THE ARTSTYLE AND THE DESIGNS, THE MOTION IS PERFECT THE VOICES ARE 👌
JUST PERFECTION
This was such a cute animation. The 2D and 3D works surprisingly well for this scenario, a clash of styles. This needs more views
An absolutely fun idea, would love to see these ideas expand
god this came up in my recommended and i love it so much. adeline is so well designed and expressive, and while the 3d animation could use some poliah, it works suoer well against the 2d to convey real world vs cartoon. honestly inspires me on the medium to go with for a cartoon pilot ive been workshopping!
Please keep up the wonderful work. You have something spectacular here
I love it! It reminds me of the cartoons of old. Love the mix of Cartoon/Reality with the CGI, and the sound effects with the Toon-girl are amazing! ^^
I am very impressed as to how this animation went honestly. Looking forward to see more animations like this one!
This animation is Incredible and I know that it has the potential to grow as an industry
just got this on my recommended and i can say that youtube is doing something right
This needs so much more attention. Hopefully that tiktok going viral helps, this is amazing!
Adeline kind of looks like if Dot and Felix had a little daughter!
Nice animation!
On the animators Bulletin board, we see a poster called adeline in space. This means the Toon is called Adeline.
(Edit. When Adeline is drawing the smiley face, it looks small. When the animator captures her it looks huge!)
a small thing i liked was how when she was dissolving, he had sketch lines on her face to mark where she was facing, a great touch
He?
@@randomanimations2143 minor spelling mistake
Can't believe y'all included the vandalized Spike Spiegel from the CN stairwell on the wall, it hurts just as bad seeing it in animation form as it does looking at the image itself
Please say this will be a series. This is so amazing and well done. I just want more.
Yes, the cgi animation was rough. But in my opinion that just makes the sublime 2d animation look that much better.
This looks amazing! I'm definitely following this in the future!
My favorite scene is the eyes within darkness scene. Both of their personalities and energy are maintained lol
It's like the animation teams for sonic mania and the Garfield show came together to make something very special.
Love how it says anime on the wall, also the cowboy bee bop reference
Let me tell ya something. I draw creepy characters and want to stop and make rubberhoes like this, but every time I try, I can’t. It may look easy to people, but it’s not. Character needs to be simple, nice to look at, and have a personality for people to draw them right. The position of the body and movement is important too. Finally, rubberhoes cartoons go for frame by frame animation for the best result. There’s also naming (Adeline is my twin sister. How convenient.) character species, trickery, jokes, memorable poses, coloring, what makes them different from other characters, and finally, the love put into each rubberhoes character no matter how small of a appearance. I may not be a good artist, but I have been studying on these little critters possibly for all my life. Every day I think of how to make one, but never know where to start and overdue the characters. I learn more of these little inks through it and about me. Overall, through what I have seen, I’d give this a #1 best little film this year or 5 for me. Lot of research has been shown and it’s wonderful. Great job.
Update: I no longer do Scary and now do art simulator to this with how to draw characters in a small scale and such. I really wanna thank you, for you guys really made me improve on this. Thanks.
I love that the title is a Fleischer Studios reference ^^
As an animator, I can confirm this happens daily
I think the overworked animator character needs a little more expression and animation but if you don't/can't do that then it's okay because it's still REALLY good!
My favorite scene was the "No, no, no. No, no. Nooo, no."
WOW!!! I know this must be a good cartoon if the thumbnail has all these festival logos on it!!! HOT DOG!!!!!!
Rubberhose animation is still going strong!
Dot Warner looking kinda smol, but still cute.
Nice animation!
The small cartoon character really reminds me of dot from animaniacs
I think you should change the name, because in the 20's the fletcher brothers (a duo of animators with their own studios now owned by paramount) release a cartoon and live action series called "Out of the inkwell" about koko the klown in the drawings interacting with max fleischer, the series last to the 60's
This could be good as a movie. Just needs a good story.
I think this would’ve been better if it was like a real video with 2D animation for the little animated character
That CN intern drawing that covered Spike Spiegel sketch at 2:06 lmao.
I didn't even know this came out until it appeared in my reccomendations yesterday, this looks amazing!
Feels kind of mean spirited if you ask me. They have conflict, conflict ends with her MELTING out of existence. She comes back, sees him sleeping, feels sorry for him, so she goes out of her way to do all the work for him while he’s sleeping. I just don’t think this guy deserved that sort of resolution.
This is so cool, I just got here from tiktok. 9 hours late but at least I made it!
I really think that it looked very interesting and very fascinating to see that
Reminds me of the first time I saw my characters came off the paper
Drawn character comes to life..sounds familiar..
The life of the Fleisher Brothers.
Nice Short, Well Done For The Creators 😉
i hope they make a cute plushie of adeline
;-; i love the 2D animation so much.
"sigh"
The comments complaining about this Masterpiece tho...
2D fans who use "Constructive criticism" as dumb excuse these days, they just don't admit they hate 3D like they use to since they all always have hate boners for it.
Thank god I was always more of a Claymation and Stop Motion person Lmao.
This is so amazing! Great job to everyone behind this. I love the mix of rubber hose-esque and 3d animation. Plus, I'll admit Adeline deserves to be among the ranks of the best of the best. Bugs (bunny), mickey, bendy, etc.
idk how the FUCK you could manipulate my emotions with that one part but good job
That was really adorable ^w^
I absolutely love this reminds me of a similar series of the same name starring coco the clown
Who else wishes drawings came to life? Cuz i do wish drawings came to life
CGI could use some refining but other then that this looks amazing
The cel animation was amazing
This is great! Only thing a gotta say about it is the 3d animation is sorta choppy, but the rubber hose animation is so good!
3:30 Uy... Eso... Me impacto realmente.
Girl just gave out Animaniacs vibes
She must know Koko The Clown.
this is so cute. well done love it.
Cool animation dude, thats sick
The animation is cool, but with 3d yes, we need to make more emotional eyes, it seems to me
Now THIS is art, because I am a cartoon artist myself, and I'd love to make animations like this! Heh, Maybe you could even teach me sometime
10/10 love the 2d mixed in with 3D animation
Wait until the Inkling finds the remains of the other one melted.
this is disney level,ngl
Not gonna lie I thought she was gonna turn in into a plane like cuphead
2:04
Oh man I love this flim, it’s so great
Yo, Bendy and the ink machine cartoon is looking sick
Wonderful 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Ngl I thought that that was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in the thumbnail lol. Anyway awesome animation!
d + (Wrong)
Ah, I love that doddle.
This is really good and wholesome animation!
If criticism were to be constructive, then the cgi could be smoother and polished. Traditional animation on the other hand is spectacular! I'd say this was a first good episode for this potential series!
yeah the CGI movement is a bit stale with movements begin rough
Completely agree, again, with constructive criticism. I also think the voice acting did not match the expressions to the CGI. I love the traditional, but the CGI and the voice acting needed a bit of work
Most CGI is cheap anyways. I always prefer the hand drawn.
Why does everyone keep saying series? I thought it was just this film
@@JaggSwag230 I think they stated earlier they were working on a second episode
Absolutely gorgeous fusion of rubber hose and cg. Great work!!!

The part where the little cartoon straight up dies was absolutely horrifying. I loved this! Amazing work to you and the whole crew!
i agree! good lord 0.0
Yeah, although it does seem like a tails situation where she can die, but just be redrawn and be good as new
@@DToTheB Yeah, I came to that same conclusion as well. She's implied to already be aware of what's going on, which would mean that she has all her prior memories. She seemingly remembers what she did, and even recognizes that she hasn't had her fur or clothing inked in this time.
@@DToTheB make the tails situation a trope
Yah it looked brutal she must have been beginning for help
As a connoisseur of rubberhose animation, Adeline herself is animated flawlessly. She's super expressive and full of character.
The CGI could use some tweaking for it to work but still, very well done.
I'd say there's potential here to make a full-blown series here. I love what's done here and I'm craving for more! That's the mark of a good, dang animation!
That was so cuuute!! well done to the whole crew!! :D

I was just about to say that this reminded me of your animations, and then I see your comment! Haha

Oh hey, it's you again. Swell seeing you here, I understand you also take a liking to this a bunch as I do recall you tapping into the ancient but not forgotten artistry of rubber hosing.
I already know this is gonna be a VERY successful series (if it will become a series). It’s so well done and I LOVE the art style and the idea of 3d person meets 2d cartoon. Keep up the fantastic work!!
No it's not
@@mikekaty2558 go ahead and hate. I see it to be promising too. Never judge a book by its cover. This might just be the creators first series. First time with animation even. Show some respect
I agree!
Wait Theres a gonna be a serie of this?
i hope there will be a serie about this
what a neat little school cartoon!! i think its pretty good! i'm always up for some 2d in 3d i love that stuff
i like the message that goes with it, wich is pretty serious, mostly about cartoons having to be rushed, and, how some animators pretty much have to sleep at their studios often (even tho studios dont really look like that anymore) but still
i also ADORE how the lil cartoon creature uses drawing and paper noises and such this is such a cool idea! hope too see amazing stuff from you in the future!!
It’s supposed to look like an old animation studio because it’s a 30s cartoon. And I notice a subtle film which is a nice detail.
Ink-redible job with this!! Everyone who worked on this did an amazing job!
The saddest part about seeing Adeline melt is if you look closely you can see her say “no, no, please” when she’s trying to put her arm back on. Fantastic attention to detail there.
Although the concepts are not exactly the same, this honestly reminds me a lot of Bendy and the Ink Machine!
And for that reason, I love it! I'm also not just talking about the Bendy game, but the books.
This is really an intresting take on cartoons coming to life, and I'm very excited to see what you do with it!
I was looking for that comment
I might not be a fan of Bendy, but I love this cartoon.
@@joselourenco5542 same here she's cute & awesome

Very impressive work from you guys! Loved every minute! It was very cute and creative. At the same time it was very wholesome. Interesting blend between 3D and 2D. That's a good change from the everyday animation. Awesome work!
The Academy failed to shortlist "Forget Me Not" last year, so I hope they shortlist (or even nominate) this one this year for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 95th Oscars.
Oh, what a great short! I love how Adeline’s as small as she’s drawn, it provides a new perspective for “living animation” scenarios since they’re typically human sized.
I love how well animated this short was and the idea itself is a great callback to Max Flieschers “Out of the InkWell” hope you make more amazing projects in the potential future
I love how he doesn't even panic over the mess or the live cartoon and just casually says "no no no I need you in the paper" this isn't the first time this has happened!
Adeline is SO cute!!
I got super sad when the coffee fell on her and she started melting away. Poor dear! ;;
This is literally my most favorite thing ever!
I hope this is successful enough to get more animations of them!
The Film was amazing, the 2d and 3d animation were pretty good! the background elements and how the characters play with them doesn´t feel ankward or out of place to me. i obviusly wanna give props to all the great team behind the project who made this film posible. Ya´ll are really great, and hope to see more about this in the future.
i agree about the 2D animation being good but definitely not the 3D
Yoooo! I love these types of shorts, blending 2D and 3D into something entirely new! Well done Adam and Andy! You guys made something special!
I just finished my first short film a few weeks ago! I get the feeling
This is absolutely adorable and the sequence where she begins to melt is so damn heartbreaking and even scary, being both cartoony but also somewhat realistic.
Well done on every aspect.
wow that creator did a good work of the drawing of the 20th century and the drawing came alive and poor thing that is very sad and asleep and the character looks at how sad she is and she was drawing to help the poor thing and made it very great and he is happy xd
This is absolutely beautiful. I love the animation, Adeline is so adorable, and it’s overall just very funny and heartwarming to put it simply. The death-by-coffee part is probably gonna haunt me for a while tho.😅
Applause to all of you guys!
We need more cartoons with adeline ! 😊
Awesome film. I really like what was presented in here. Here's some feedback: I think the human movements are a bit stiff, they could use some work. Other than that, everything else looks awesome, including the 2D animation. Great work from everyone who made this possible.
Just realized there’s a subtle film texture here which is pretty cool. Pretty cool animation, very retro and cool.
amazing...honestly amazing, i'm speeches at how a 4 second scene of the girl melting caused more damage than 17 years of weird stuff and gorey stuff i've seen on the internet....honestly how did you pull that off?
