Holy shit. I wasn’t expecting much from a random video from 9 years ago, especially since after seeing the quality of MinusT, but saying this was amazing is an understatement. Once Reimu took off her ribbon and put on her scarf everything changed. It went from a “simple” 3D remake of the original dabmaku to a fight combined with the animators creativity. I loved the strong naruto vibes once Reimu fucking roundhouse kicked Okuu the entire battle had a completely different atmosphere. This quality is too good for almost 10 years ago, and is criminally underrated
I like how even though Reimu was redicuously outgunned, she still hung in and only shot when it mattered. Stilll, she wouldn`t have won without Yukari saving her twice.
I know some others may not think this, or consider it due to it being overshadowed by the rest of the fight, but Reimu's exit was damn slick (i love that smile !)

I found the melee combat intermission after Fixed Star to be quite enjoyable, but I have to admit that the lacking Hell and Heaven meltdown was a bit of a disppointment, and the ease with which Reimu dealt with Subterranean Sun (not to mention the scarce amount of tiles being drawn in to fuel the outgoing storm and the general quickness of its growth) gave the video a rather anticlimactic end. Still, extremely well done and worth the wait!
That's better. He uploaded this before at about 1 AM Eastern and the audio was all messed up. Much easier to watch when you don't have to mute it. Awesome job and I can't wait for someone to translate and/or give Reimu and Okku voices/ battle noises like the last one.

If Monty Oum decided to choreograph a Touhou fight scene, it would probably look a whole lot like this. Awesome interpretations of all Utsuho's spells and nonspells. (I especially liked the interpretation of Subterranean Sun--so the stuff coming from behind you is being ripped off the walls? Nifty.) The music was awesome, especially the "Flames Within These Black Feathers" one. Huzzah!
EXCELSIOR! The fight choreography in this is utterly flawless and might just be the best reproduction of a spell card duel I've ever seen. My only cripe is that the animation is a little lacking, though for a project this ambitious I guess it's both to be expected and forgivable.
I find it amusing that after all of that ridiculously high-energy combat, literally fighting with stars, the finisher is a fist. (My dog, but the output of that fight is insane. It's a wonder that Gensoukyo wasn't blasted right out of space-time.)
To elaborate on MagamiKent's answer, Subterranean Animism has a gimmick where you pick a youkai partner for your character, and gain a benefit based on that partner. When Reimu teams up with Yukari, she can pass from one edge of the screen to the other (as if the ends met up with each other). The rift warp thing is probably impulseJP's interpretation of that ability in a real 3D environment.
I swear that those cards at the end must be made of the same stuff the soccer ball is made of in Touhou Soccer. You'd think a frickin' nuclear sun would melt a pair of trading cards. Nope, apparently not.

nope, its Lunatic Mode, 6:03 confirms it as that card is Blazing Star "Ten Evil Stars", and she only uses the 10 Large orb bullets in Lunatic Mode, in easy mode, she uses 6 of them and in normal and hard she uses 8 of them, so yes, this is indeed Lunatic Mode
@kozkoz It actually only lacked the "hell" part, since Utsuho burned the "heaven" right after getting her new cannon, so the card was (barely) there. That's why the melee took place at ground level.
@victor4544 Actually the guy doing the SFX is part of the group. Considering how long it takes to place proper timing cues for SFX (for 11min and all that danmaku? Around 48hr of solid work if just one person), they just released the final video/music version.
I really like this, but the only problem with is is that...honestly, Utsuho isn't my favorite final boss, although she's the only one who would actually resort to being downright ruthless as opposed to every other one. They're all too damn elegant, but I'd much rather see a fight with, say, Yuyuko or even Kaguya.

@kensaya There's a difference between dubbing a handful of lines, no doubt poorly, and adding in sound effects and vocal touches (grunts, screams, etc) through the entire thing like the previous clip that was made of the first 3 or so minutes of the battle past the 'conversation'.
So worth the wait for this to come out!!!!! For some odd reason I knew all these songs because I have them all on my favorites list for a while!~ I ♥ you Okuu!~

Reimu left hooks her to her right jaw twice then Satori pimp slaps her on her left jaw. No one can accuse Okuu of having a glass jaw.
