I'm from Bangladesh,, and as I'm from Bangladesh authentic fish curry is never thick, it’s always stew for fish. Tho we actually make everything at stew consistency, when Indian currys are super thick (tasty anyways). And we never blend curry base, which is another difference!!

This is called "Kaata rui" or "Bodo rui" in Bengali. I also eat this fish almost everyday and this is my favourite one apart from Elish(Hilsa). Your recipe is really amazing and you can also use the red chilli powder in less quantity like 2 tsp but the taste won't change. The fish has its own flavour so you will always love it.
