I have a young lady clean my floors and bathroom every two weeks. I can’t vacuum or sweep/mop, so it’s my luxury after all of these years! I appreciate her so much. Loved my Joy visit tonight! Thank you!
Joy, I love those horses. So sweet. I was in Willcox when you showed them. Family get together. Your top is amazing. So pretty. I'm going to iron the backing for a quilt after I watch you.
Enjoyed all your story tellings. Looks like you have a very full life. Looking forward to seeing the 3 completed small quilts.
So glad you are zooming and having fun!
You popped up before I went to bed. You always make me smile :-)). Customer service is almost non existent so I know you're not exaggerating. That curvy ruler is amazing. I'm going to buy the bird's nest kit from DIME based on your experience. TY.
Hi Joy, it’s always nice to see you and hear your stories. I saw a video once that showed using a big button on the wrong side of the fabric and a small rubber band to hold it in place from the front to scrunch up the fabric to do that thing with the shirt hem. It almost looked like a flower. Was very cute.
Love the idea of the colored pins to hold the hem up a bit. It looks so nice.
Never board to tears with you, Joy!😂
I was told that vacuuming and mopping are hard on the back. It might be time for a Roomba, Joy. You can “train” it to vacuum your tile every night while you sleep.
I actually own one of those vacuums. Shark, I think. I was INSANE! We could not get it to work right.
Ric-rac is a must pickup at the Hobby Lobby. The spools in the ribbon section "cause you need long pieces.
Loved what you did with the red top. My son got me a Roomba and I love it. Hubby will still take out the big vacuum cleaner about every 4-6 weeks and vacuum for me. I also use it to vacuum my bedroom as so much stuff under my bed and afraid of damaging my Roomba. I too am working on Surefit things. I have to finish my waistband on pants. I pulled out my bodice & skirt master pattern and I’m measuring things. I’m not doing a complete redo but either doing slash & spread or pivot & slide to update. Then I’m ironing interfacing to back to strengthen master pattern. Joy would you believe that it is that time again to leave for Florida to see family. We leave November 1, and come back December 26. Take care .
You look great in the red top. Smart idea to use a pin. Surefitdesigns has the curve runner in their Notions. The UK distributor has a curve runner in metal, in inches, or centimeters. Impressive work, dismantling the barn. Maybe the problems with the thread are caused by the age of the thread. Old thread creates lots of problems.
Hey Miss Joy! Glad y’all are doing well! Always enjoy your snippets! God bless y’all! 😀❤️
Good idea with the colored pins. I like pulling my tshirt up too.
Love the blouse.
Cleverness abounds at your house!
Hey Joy I went out to your Amazon store and could not find the safety pins. Keep up the videos, I enjoy the tutorials but tune in to hear about you. I am in my house with out friends and so wish I could live closer and would love to sew with you. My friend lives 12 hours away so we only see each other every couple of years. God Bless, Debra
I will put those pins in there now. Thanks for reminding me.
I just love to watch you talk and explain certain things you’re a hoot make me laugh all the time life gets busy in all our homes can’t wait to see you again have a good evening till next time❣️🧵✂️🪡🥰
I shop your Amazon store every once in a while when I need something from you😊
I have recently just been interested in machine embroidery! Kimberbell is one I’m following. I was really interested in the Pumpkins and potions project. I need to start simpler i think. As much chatter and laughing you two do Im surprised you get anything finished. It;s sooo fun.!!!
I just sew a small strip of thin elastic on my shirt tail to make it gather like that.
I sew a length of 1/4 inch elastic underneath the area I want gathered. Then I never have to think about it again. :)
Joy you are so funny and entertaining. Thanks for coming on with a life update. Pam Miller
Nice to see you Joy. Your always busy and include us to. To which I say thanks! Always enjoy your visit. ❤
Joy I really enjoy your happiness ND enthusiasm. Thank you for the wonderful visit. Hava wonderful day.
Joy love your videos.
Oh I have had a brainwave, following your brainwave Joy! I have a scarf pin which I can use it is a simple gold bar, that’s what I can use on my hem to make it tucked up. Ooh how trendy I will be!
Yes! Great solution.
What I like to do for my tops is sew a small piece of elastic on the back. Also, can sew a strip on the back with three seams to make a drawstring channel. Looks good with a matching drawstring to adjust to whatever length you want tied into a bow.
Joy, you are such a hoot! I feel like I am just chatting with a long time friend. I enjoy your channel.
If you happen to remember the pattern for this red dolman knit blouse could you please post it. This blouse looks easy and I would like to try and make it. Thanks so much for your uplifting and funny videos.
Love all your snipits Joy 🤗 so until we meet again have many blessed days and say hi yp Philly!
I think those horses are cool my singer heavy duty 4452 is made for all kinds of sewing
can you use a small piece of elastic to make that shirred part on your shirt instead of the pin?
I am like you. I don’t like straight hems either. But I like to “rouxhe”. The corner. I am not sure if that is even the right word or not. I bought the entire sure fits designs product line about four years ago. I have moved several times. A little worried I may not have all the videos any longer. Not sure yet. Did you do your scarecrow yet? Mine is going pretty slow since I am in a classroom situation. Our instructor had the big C and missed one week. Then I had it and missed the following week. I am going to have to start cutting my own. I have no confidence. I recently attended one of those bags by Annie classes for the project bags. Well, half of my fabric was cut correctly. Everything else was a full half inch off. I am telling you, I had measured that fabric at least three times. However. It was a very frustrating day for me, as I am sure the errors were due to that. But, since the scarecrow is a kit, I really don’t want to spend any money twice. I am afraid of cutting incorrectly. I need to have it cut when I get to class next time. So I am not behind. So, here is me trying to make sure that I am not only doing it correctly, but in a way that if pieces of that same fabric are needed further on in the quilt that I have enough. Pray 🙏🏼. 😀😀. I need it.
I would paint the pin with nail polish. 😊
AHA! Great idea. I needed a turquoise one yesterday.
11 Husbands~~ What??? WOW!
Hey Joy! Saturday September 14 today. Missed this episode but thanks to You-Tube, caught up today. Off the wall question - could you, if you know, tell me the color of paint on the wall behind you in the alcove where the sailboat quilt is? I really like that creamy beige color. They no longer are making the color I have in my Great Room and when they used their machine to "read" the colors and copy it, it came out too yellow. Thanks and have a great week.
Loved the chat!
HAHA. CarefulJoy with that thing wear your gloves. Lol
my bernina's does not like sulky to do embroidery. I can use sulky to do the quilting portion but not using the embroidery hoop. if thread is old or dusty it will break and shred.
Joy, your Kimberbell booklet is the sewing version I think. You did not get the disk.
I bought a scarecrow pattern two years ago and made one. Cut out two and have not made the second one yet. Big pattern, maybe not as big as your new one.
Your funny, Joy.
Hi Joy, as usual I'm 3 days late for the contest. I have a granddaughter eleven years old that is into horses, those horses will make a pretty wall hanging for some lucky child.
Just shirr the blouse when making.
Well they took the barn down pretty fast
I find Sulky has more breakage than other threads. Sulky is rayon. Stick to your Floriani.
Joy I doots of embroidery. I would use cut away stabilizer. Float it.
Stanley part of menopause that I'm still going through is just hot flashes I've been through the rest of it early
Your black thread kept breaking becaise it is old… very dark colors do not age well… I had the same problem, my spools are all more than 20 years old and the black had to be replaced.
For your blouse shirring, why dont’t you just sew two rows of stitches and pull the bobbin thread as we do for preparing ruffles? With a knot it would be permanent and no need for a pin that could open and stab you in the stomach?
Love that blouse by the way…
Joy, where did you get your bookcases that you store your fabric in? I like them, because of the depth! Also enjoy your videos.
My bookcases are from IKEA.
You are never boring!!
What is the deal with tearing down a good barn?
It wasn't very good Cheryl. Lots of issues inside. Plus, it is way too small for our RV and our boat.
❇RE: Scarecrow Quilt. I believe Lori Holt has or did a sew along for that. It would be on her website. She posts all the weeks projects (parts) with great photos and instructions. Maybe that would help you piece out the work so it isn't so overwhelming. I thought about doing it too, but it's so big, and then who quilts it at the end??? NOT ME, and it surely would cost hundreds to have it done, what with shipping etc. Then of course, I have to put it someplace, or give it away. So, I just admire it from afar. Why was the barn being torn down and another built in it's place. Perhaps I missed hearing about that...or you didn't tell us. It's ok. Thank you for another great video. I really enjoy them more than you know. Stay well, and take care. Renee' 🪡
The barn wasn't big enough for all Jerry's toys!😂
@@gertrudewelsh781 Oh that is funny...
@@Do-U-Know-me00 Oh my gosh, I guess I missed that previous reasoning too. I'm glad I read through comments first because I was going to completely ask the same thing... why tear down and do again... lol.
The barn was not well built and had a lot of issues, plus it was way too small for our RV and boat.
That looks more like a scalpel😂
Hey Joy😊
should not vacuum … you must have several rumas (Rosies) The Jetsons robot
Joy, I look forward to your RUclips chats. I could listen to you for hours!
That barn looked new! Why did you remove it?
I was with AT&T for 63 years. I was so disgusted with them I gave up and went with Spectrum. What a pleasure it is to pay $29.99 a month for unlimited use of my cell phone. Good luck with your new service. By the way, I love your red shirt.
T-Mobile doesn't give us service like that out here so we go with Verizon
Hi Joy, I have to ask. Why is the barn being demolished? You probably said & I just missed it. Does your new home have any acreage? I love the fence lines. J in GA, a transplanted Texan.
Hello Joy. Would you please send me the link to your Amazon store so I may order items you told me there. Thank you greatly.
If you click on the word “more” right below the title of her video it will take you to a link to her Amazon store😉
amazon.com/shop/joybernhardt Let me know if I need to put something there for you. I added the colored pins.
Joy, are you aware that Dr. Berg is not an MD? He’s a chiropractor.
Y'all live in Mounds? I thought you were in Edmond area
So I missed this who was the winner
Joy....you have been married 50 years. Have you a wedding photo. Be nice to see you and Jerry in your 20s
What do you mean that laminate wood floor tile
Our floors look like wood, but they are tile.
Why are you taking it down? Thank you.
Please Please please straighten the quilt behind you!!! It drives me crazy!!! Pretty please!!!!
I KNOW. The quilt is very straight, but my tripot is not. I have to fix the tripod every time, and sometimes, I forget to do it.
I feel your pain regarding internet/cell phone companies. None of them are great. You start off and it's "nice", then as time goes on, nope! Generally, customer service with most companies is terrible, but especially communication companies. Waiting for 45 minutes to an hour just to get started! The addition of AI into the world of business has not been super. AI is not that intelligent, in my humble opinion. Fees are outragious. Gone are the days of paper bills unless you want to pay a fee. Don't get me started LOLOLOL.
AT&T is one of the worst companies
I never liked AT&T! They are jerks!
JOY. A woman called DIY Debbi. Has a RUclips and is very new. SHE is brilliant at Kimberbell embroidering. Her tricks are genius.. She is sweet, direct and to the point. I have learned a ton from her !!! Check her out.
I certainly will check here out -- right now.
