I really like it!! Y2K pop with a touch of 80s/90s new jack swing in the percussion. It sounds instantly familiar even when it's new and it's an ear worm, which is the best indicator that you've got a hit song.
Dame I'm 35 so saying Christina Aguilera is old school sounds super crazy to me too 😅😭 But yes dude I really love how KoL leaned into this sort of Y2K sound and concept. It gave me hardcore Britney vibes but in a way that made it their own which was still refreshing. A lot of kpop groups try to do the Y2K sound and it doesn't sound anywhere near as good.
Natty’s spider scene was snatched straight out of Britney’s Toxic, the sound is very Y2K and I deeply appreciate KIOF for doing a sound from that same point in time that’s DIFFERENT than the popular style NewJeans brought in. (TBH.. this sound is SO much better) great reaction guys ❤
I’m an 03 and I grew up listening to Christina Aguilera!! She is definitely no old school. Midas Touch was definitely giving early 2000s pop, the Bratz OSTs, etc. By far my favorite KIOF title track!!!
The chorus reminds me of an early 2000's Women's shaving product commercial, Cheetah Girls and or a Bratz theme song! Even the billboard gave me Britney Pepsi commercial. I loved the nostalgic sound and they looked incredible!
