Hi Anu, Poornima here. My water plants are in a 24' mitti ka gamla. Lots of algae form. Water cabbages r turning yellow and lifeless too. I have couple of guppies also but water doesn't stay clean. Will alum help?
First with the help of scrubber, remove the algae from the wall of the pot. Overflow the water for 10 minutes. Later add alum. Yes it will be effective.

No, it won't, but should not be more than half a teaspoon.

Its all mixed, bought from local nurseries and few online too.
