Most people with this condition are autistic and don't enjoy being touched by other people. At least that was the case in the three documentaries I watched. I know at least one of them was national geographic.

I'm sick of repeating myself in this comment section. There's thousands of people with autism and other social issues who date dolls and the doctors don't think it's a big deal because these people at the end of they are aware that's not an actual person even if they treated such. In front of others they refer to the sex doll as a person but because they have to change their clothing and all the conversations happen in their head they know it's not actually a person.
