It is very rare to find a doctor like Dr Karthikeyan.. My experience no doctor listen very patiently and suggest medicine understanding side effects..If we go with any of these side effects even after reading the tablets side effects doctor will prescribe additional medicines only. They strongly believe medicines prescribed by them will not have any side effects. After taking so many medicines we become very weak and couldn't do regular exercises or go on diet. Highly valuable information Dear Dr. I am 65 and taking Amlodipine for the past five years. Initially my daily dose was 5 mg . Now maintaining with 2.5 mg. I am experiencing insomnia . But when I reported this to my Doctor he didn't alter the medicine. Nor he prescribed any sleeping pill. He just told me to try some non pharmacological methods like reading books before going to bed . Even though I tried this the result was not good. Now I doubt this may be because of Amlodipine. I took Amlagard 2.5mg. for years together. I am 76 now. I take now for 3 mnths Amlodipine 5 mg. I have for over several yrs dry skin foot cracks skin peeling severe itching ...recurring even takig skin care meds. Night twice urinating...qkuantity more than what i consume...mouth drying there...but not so severe. Small pimple like erruptions with itching...all over body...evening..nights...but fisappearing in the morning..
