You will want to make sure that all of this is already laid out before a client books you. This is just after the fact if they come back asking for unedited files. :)
you're never going to get anywhere if you don't provide raws. don't think of yourself as some great artist. just take the pictures and do your job and give raws. let the client edit the photo colours the way they want.
@@violet_world9385 I think it’s mainly about protecting your metadata as well as not having to send over such a large amount of large files when it comes to raw images. Plus other things
If they keep pushing for the raw files, how do you respond? Would you charge for them? How much would you charge? Would you charge for all of them or by the photo?
if you're charging for the finished touched-up JPEG's, why charge for the RAW? it's just data... all the work goes into the editing, you should give RAW's for free and charge for JPEG's
@@usynnstradler it’s data that you own and if they share them it could come off as the final product to someone that the client shares it with. This may look bad on the photographer
This is awesome. I also would enjoy a video on if you one would like to offer those raw files at an additional cost. And how to explain that to a client. 💖 thank you ✨
Just mention in your contract that the dilvery of Raw files comes at extra cost and here its upto you: put a high price tag if you do not wish to handle them! Hi Jessica. Great video. Looks like the template though was removed
Wow! you are a bright light in the dark, thank you for what you do, much love
This was posted right on time, I had a client ask this but I said no...
Hopefully this can help!

@@usynnstradler no thanks 😊
@usynnstradler why? You need to clarify your statement.
This is sooooo helpful thank u so much
I'm glad to hear it! you're so welcome
I would NOT hire anyone who doesn't give raw files. Your pictures are going to be edited anyway, raw or not, if the client decides to.
Well you would have to bring that up in the beginning. That will create an issue because the photographer I spent all that time culling and editing
Lol

Very good explanation!
Thank you!
Great video but I would appreciate if you checked sound volumes for your next video. It was a little loud in this one
turn the volume down then?
Thanks
What if they ask for raw files right off the bat before the shoot as part of what they are purchasing? I'd love to hear more on this!
Hi Jessica. I hope that you dont mind me asking you but what does the number 7 tattoo represent?
Awesome.. but can u suggest me checklist what to talk with clients at first ?
wow for me this video is right on time thanks!
Astonishing as always! Keep doing a great work!😍

I wonder if clients asked for negatives back in the day. Maybe positives.

Hi, I just recently subscribed to you-!
Thanks for sharing this😊. This has been my current problem but now I have a solution how to deal with them😊😍.
And they are the same who put filters on photography
I usually say; Raw files 10$ each one
Good idea!

How about a situation when they asked you to shoot with their own sd card but with your camera?
Hell no!
Why wouldn’t you give them the raw files? I don’t see an issue here. They paid for the photos, right?
There is no good reason not to. It doesn't cost anything. The only reason to do this is to milk every penny out of the client.
well... I personally don't give RAW files because the client might use the unedited version, or a crappy edit by themselves and post it on my behalf.

Your template links are scrubbed. Boo
Oh no! It's been updated. I hired someone to do more SEO on my website and they changed out the URLs for some of my blog posts :/
OH wait, no the original URL is still working! Here it is: www.jessicawhitaker.co/blog/uneditedclientreply
Not a single photographer I've ever worked with provides raw images. That's a huge no for them unless you buy full EXCLUSIVE rights to the images.
I usually say you can’t get the raw files I destroyed them and they believe me
I just straight up say “no”
