I love everything about this video - and your kingfisher is absolutely stunning!! I agree that sometimes referencing a sketch (versus a photo) can be so helpful, especially with a new subject! Congratulations on tackling something new so beautifully 💖 I absolutely adore birds in general, and I love that you used to exchange feathers with friends - do you have fairywrens in New Zealand or are they strictly in Australia? I think they are so cute (and of course the names are wonderful, I would love to be a ✨splendid fairywren✨ myself!) I also adore the shima enaga birds that look like little cotton balls with wings! As for those that visit my bird feeders, I love the sparrows of all kinds and titmice and chickadees and mourning doves! (I suppose I just really love birds 🕊 & I agree with your take on birds as pets - as much as I love them, they deserve to fly free!!) I can't wait to see your art from your trip!!
@@faerieofthenorth glad you enjoyed the video. ☺️ True! i think as they’re already simplified enough, it’s easier for your brain to focus on the basic shapes. I haven’t heard that there’s fairywrens here but they are so pretty! I looked up Shima enaga and it’s so cute how have i not known about them haha. They remind me of those cute fluffy bird keychains. 😅 I can’t wait for my vacation as i will get lot of time for painting! Exciting 🥰
I was so excited for this video! I'm an ornithologist, so it's hard to pick just one bird. I have a secret love for ducks, tho, hahaha. I love the Kingfisher's colors, and your painting is so pretty! Really enjoyed the process, as always. When I'm painting, I'm always listening to music, sometimes instrumental, or just a calm melody. Great video! 💛
That’s amazing! They are such fascinating creatures. 🥰 i want to paint more of them now. Glad you like the video, I love listening to instrumental music too!
It's hard to choose a favorite bird but I love swans ! 🦢
They’re so beautiful 😍
