Nice photos. I've never seen the "Queen Vic in Wick..." photo before. I would love to see a detailed copy of that view. I recall "Peggy's" shop on the other side of the road, sold clothes and bits and pieces and some toys.
Another great video, Brian. Many thanks. I wonder if there are more churches than pubs in Hackney, or vice versa! They reflect a great era for Christianity and all those of any religion or none who enjoy socialising over a pint, or two or three! Sad to see the decline of the former.

we lived opposite Bakewell the Greengrocers and peggys babies clothes shop and wool we lived the side of Toms cafe in wick road
Peggys was on the same side as the pub next door to Bakewells the greengrocers
At 3.57 studio/industrial units from £25 a week! Cost a lot more now 🙄

Early on in the slide show there's an ariel view of Hackney Wick, I think I recognise the area but did almost all those houses get demolished?
