    It's great to have you back Nina, and what a great video. I love all the techniques, such a fun way to transfer your beautiful images. Your photos are fantastic, and I love street art in Spain and Italy. I have some photos of Spanish street art from years ago - it was all my favourite movie stars - James Dean (my hero), Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, Monty Clift etc. I will try to dig them out and try your techniques. Take care Nina, and have a superb week ahead. xx

I tried a geli plate transfer a few times without success but these ones look fun to try. I love the laminated sheet idea as I'd be able to transfer some photos onto paper I'd not be able to feed through my printer so am definitely going to give that a go and I really love the sellotape idea as I think they'd also make fun pockets. I once looked at a video with a friend and she said" why not glue the picture down, why bithering to do this all. Well that is what we do.. Good morning Lena. I must admit I have thought the same, but having tried it, I can now see the benefits. The gel medium transfer would look wonderful on a book page for instance. The second technique on the plastic film, were any mediums added to either the plastic or the card stock you transferred the picture to? It looked like you just flipped the picture so the text would print correctly, printed the picture onto the film then turned the film ink side down onto the card stock and smoothed the inked film onto the card stock. I saw no medium, liquid, glue or gel applied to anything.

    Nina, I just love this and your "street art" photo's. I have done some image transfer, but you have shown me some other ways of doing them. I loved the laminating sheet technique , I have to try that. Do you know if you can use a laser printer instead of a inkjet printer for the laminating sheet? Thanks again.

    • @NinaRibenaMixedMedia
      @NinaRibenaMixedMedia  2 года назад +1

      Hi Teresa, I think the plastic sheet method will only work with an inkjet printer, but you could use acetone to transfer your laser copy. Put your print face down onto your substrate (you might want to tape it to stop it slipping), then add acetone with a brush or cotton ball to the back of the image in small areas at a time (because it dries so quickly) and burnish well with a bone folder. Have fun 💕

    Thank you Nina. I can already see those images in one of your journals! I have done this with not so convincing results, so I abandoned it altogether. But I have never seen this technic with the plastic sheet. Would this also work with a laser printer? Have a nice week,

    • @NinaRibenaMixedMedia
      @NinaRibenaMixedMedia  2 года назад

      Hi Barbara, unfortunately the plastic sheet method won’t work with a laser printed image, but you could use acetone to transfer your image. Place your image face down on your substrate (you might want to tape it down to stop it shifting) then apply 100% acetone with a cotton ball to the back of the image and burnish it with a bone folder or back of a spoon. You will probably have to do it in small areas at a time as the acetone will dry very quickly, but you should get good results with this method. Have fun 💕

      @@NinaRibenaMixedMedia Thank you for your speedy answer.I shall have to see, if I can reactivate my old ink jet printer, but I fear, the colors are all dried out. I am not so sure , that I like the idea of aceton, but thanks anyway for the tip.

    Nice to have you back, but with this technique, I never really understand why you would want to transfer the image, if you have it from your printer in an acceptable form why spend hours just getting more of the same when your printer could just do you another one. Is it just me?

    • @NinaRibenaMixedMedia
      @NinaRibenaMixedMedia  2 года назад +1

      Hi Tina, I always thought that too, but this technique gives you the opportunity to transfer the image to book/music/ledger paper etc…. and I just love how weathered the prints look using the transparency film method. I can see so many opportunities for this technique now that I’ve tried it. 💕
