      Yup, this is what can happen when parents spoil and enable their kids too much. This is an extreme example of what can happen, obviously, but spoiling your children too much never ends well. They end up selfish, nasty and entitled and sometimes they even turn into malignant narcissists like Addison in this video. He created that narcissist by bending over backwards for her at every turn since she was seven years old. He was a weak parent. Even after OP asked him if Addison behaved the same with all his previous girlfriends and he confirmed that she did, all he offered was a shrug of the shoulders and said that's just how how it is and that he would always choose Addison because she's family. Spineless.

    That is attempted murder. especially when she admitted she told the staff to hide the peanut butter smell. As far as "ruining her life", well, should remind her that if she'd done that in the states it'd be right into cuffs and she'd be getting grilled by police and investigators. And if the hotel people said they were "told to use a lot of stuff to cover peanut butter up" it'd be right into the clink for attempted murder, and she'd never EVER get a decent job because of a felony on her record. Her excuse was "feeding her a bad dessert" but the fact that OP apparently ate so much of a "bad dessert" that she needed to be kept overnight proves that the allergic reaction was what the step-daughter wanted. A "bad dessert" prank involves replaces sugar with salt, or putting something gross in, like pickles or fermented fish. It wouldn't taste good. The step-daughter wanted an allergic reaction, she just miscalculated how bad it would be.

    • @cocogoat2131
      @cocogoat2131 5 месяцев назад +27

    • @wvanyar1801
      @wvanyar1801 5 месяцев назад +15

      @@cocogoat2131 , that was my thought as well. Addison wanted a allergic reaction of skin rash, throwing up, and feeling like dirt. But when OP collapsed and had trouble breathing, Addison knew she had to help OP.
      Addison intended to hurt OP. But Addison didn't take the level of allergic reaction into account. I know someone with a nut allergy. The person has ended up in the hospital twice. The last time was simply eating a vegetable that had nuts mixed in. Someone had pulled out just the veggies into a bowl, minus the nuts. It was enough to need the EpiPen and an ambulance. And like OP, had to spend the night in the hospital. The person felt terrible about it. They thought it was just eating nuts that would hurt the person, not just contact to nuts.

      At the very least it was premeditated GBH in an attempt to put her in the hospital and ruin their honeymoon.
      Likely in the hopes that it would sour the marriage and cause her to simply want a divorce.
      That being said, the money thing after daddy cut her off makes me think she was worried about her allowance being cut in the future with him having a wife to consider too, as well as inheritance.

    Hubby created that monster. If they believe she is done, they are seriously naive. They need cameras around the house. Facing OP's car. This is the type of gal to mess with the brake line. OP can never be alone with her. OP should park at work where cameras are on her car (if possible). That gal tried to get rid of OP with attitude for years. Then she did try to K OP with peanuts. My guess is that OPs extreme reaction scared her, that's why she called for help. After that confrontation when they got back, she's not afraid anymore.
    She's not done.

    No one who forgets you have a peanut allergy makes instructions to specifically mask the peanuts. THAT is intentional. She was hoping to murder you, but lost her nerve when you started gasping for help. Let's be honest. • @irisairsoul
    @irisairsoul 5 месяцев назад +16

    You know what's crazy, OP seems like the type of step-mom to let the attempt on her life go because step-daughter literally learned a lesson and changes her ways/attitude. If she were to accept the punishment, get the part-time, keep good grades, save up some money and not spend it all, properly apologize to OP the right way and in front of her father and mean it, and then just worked on being better to them and in general. She'd then find herself at arms reach and back to getting support from Dad instead of miles away and cut off. Also... a dessert with a lot of peanut butter and vanilla ice cream isn't a "bad dessert". She knew OP had an allergy to peanuts and the only thing I'd say that really shows how little she thinks about stuff, she probably thought it was getting a rash and itchy eyes or something and didn't think about the fact that she has a severe allergy. She didn't forget. She did it on purpose. She tagged along on your HONEYMOON specifically to try and drive you away once and for all. Like she did the others. Except she didn't anticipate you loving her father more than disliking her. And when you guys got married, she realized this was the last chance.

Mean, maybe narcissistic, people usually try to test your allergy if they have none because they believe it can't be as bad as you say. Ask me how I know. She wanted to teach you a lesson for marrying her father. At the very least she knew you could be seriously harmed. She's a monster.

    The "gross" dessert was peanutbutter, dates and vanilla ice cream. Certainly an odd combination, but I doubt anyone would really call it gross. Sounds way more like she was trying to hide the peanutbutter so that OP could have an allergic reaction, not expecting it to turn potentially deadly, so she backtracked and called for help, so she wouldn't inadvertently end up a murderer.
    The daughter for sure needed consequences for her actions and I actually think the father came up with a rather good idea here. Because the punishment is likely to teach her how to stand on her own to feet without wrecking her chances in life. I do think the father should have acted way sooner, preferably with therapy while she was still a kid.
    I think OP is handling this quite well. Not making decisions when it isn't really affecting her but standing up for herself in areas where it does, ie OP not being willing to live with her, but not pressuring dad one way or the other about the punishment.

  • @WritingInMyFreeTime

    People kept saying it was attempted murder, but I think it was attempted manslaughter (she did intend to harm OP but didn't want to kill). If you wanted the attempted murder charge to stick you'd have to prove that she did want to kill OP but changed her mind. I do think the daughter called an ambulance not because she regretted her action but only because she didn't want the murder charge, and that was why after OP was safe, she stopped showing any kind of concern.

      I think that deliberately telling the chef to put food you know to be an allergen into someone's food has been considered attempted murder in court (in America at least) several times already. The fact that she also ordered the staff to cover up the smell strongly suggests that she knew that if OP smelled peanuts, she would not eat the food. This action also strongly suggests that she *WANTED* OP to have an allergic reaction. The fact that the brat called for emergency vehicles is more likely her realizing that this is attempted murder and since they were in a foreign country, if she got arrested and tried, she would be in a foreign prison for a long time.

    • @WritingInMyFreeTime
      @WritingInMyFreeTime 4 месяца назад

      I don't doubt she wanted OP to have an allergic reaction. I'm just pondering over whether it's manslaughter or murder (which, as I understand, is distinguished by the intent to kill). Of course, I'm not a lawyer, and I'm a citizen of neither countries, so I have no expertise whatsoever.

    Let me see if I understand: The daughter is threatening to drop out of college, which is being paid for, if her father doesn't continue to fund her extracurricular activities. He's covering her tuition and housing, but she is pushing back because he won't give her anything extra. Why? Because she tried to delete his new wife, whom she doesn't like for whatever reason. A different father would have contacted the police because, at best, it was first degree assault, and at worst, attempted voluntary manslaughter. Only a woman could twist the logic to blame a man for her choice to commit a crime against another woman she doesn't like. Only a man could continue to fund her education after trying to delete his wife.
