    For those of you who are like me and are not furries these kind of videos are very important for understanding those people who are in the fandom. Their are numerous stereotypes pertaining to the furry fandom, and they get a bad rep by these stereotypes, and its not fair to them. Ive learned that they are expressing themzelves in ways that they find fun, exciting, and overall a passion. If i ever get the chance to meet someone in the fandom i would not hesitate to treat them like a fellow human being and say hello!
    Sorry for the super long post but i just hate to see those passionate about something they enjoy be persecuted by those who dont understand their interests.

    the way I designed my friends fursuit they can easily breath, drink, and take off the head. the head shape turned out kind of wird, but it's the safest head ever...if someone hits him w a bat, he will not feel a thing, it's that safe

      Sounds interesting. But isn't that much padding dangerous? I don't know becuase the heads I make aren't really padded.

    REALLY glad I happened to be YT surfing con panel videos and found this. I have a VERY large community event coming up that I will be wearing my German Shepherd suit at, and I get the feeling that her 'Service Dog' vest still won't cause people to be as cautious and mindful as they would around an actual service dog. Will definitely be mentioning to the coordinator that I need at least 1-2 handlers (that I will need to train before the event!) during it, and complete access to the water coolers. Lot of great information here. Thank you so much for posting it.

      musicmaster101 I think it depends on where you live. Like, if it's really hot at night, I would recommend going partially fur-suited. If it's really cold, I think you could go full fur-suited. Maybe experiment with your suit during the evening and see...

    This is great advice! One question, I don't like plain water. Is flavored water an acceptable choice?

    • @TheDemonFerretFursuits
      @TheDemonFerretFursuits 8 лет назад +3

      I can't have water, for unknown reasons, it just makes me sick. In suit, if I have it, unless I'm about to die, I can easily throw up. Because of this, I keep fruit juices on me instead. It works just fine, and so would flavored water. Just make sure it's not a color that can seriously stain your suit, and keep yourself clean. Practice holding bottles, etc, to keep you from spilling, and practice having your handler help you drink.

      Late reply, but juice also has a lot of sugar in it. It's not much better than soda. Flavoured water or Gatorade works best. Gatorade not only hydrates you, but also replaces your electrolytes. Just don't chug a ton of it.

    • @TheDemonFerretFursuits
      @TheDemonFerretFursuits 8 лет назад +1

      Sheepish this is also true! I can't drink Gatorade either, unless absolutely necessary (I can tolerate it only a little bit more, but I get more issues later on from it than I do with water), so it didn't come to mind at the moment XD I would also say Powerade, or any electrolyte drink, would work, as well. You can, however, get low to no corn syrup content fruit juices, or fruit veggie blend fruit juices, which are only natural sugars of the levels of the ingredients. They are more expensive, but they are what I use, and it's absolutely fine. Nowhere near soda levels. That would be like drinking Hi-C or Juicy Juice, which won't really help you. With soda, though, it's not the sugar that's the problem, but the salt and carbonation that cause the problems. It's a pretty common misconception.
