Yeah, Captain Harriman seemed way to inexperienced to command a ship of the line. Perhaps the real Captain was set to arrive on Tuesday as well! Ha,ha!
I read that the Excelsior was built to replace the Enterprise model that I L M was tired of filming. But since fans were upset by the destruction of Enterprise, that the "A" was again. Constitution class. Never trust Deana Troi to steer a Star ship.
I think the Excelsior Class Starships were the first Federation starships built with a Battle Bridge and if you don't believe me look at that picture of the Masters Systems Display of both the U.S.S. Excelsior NCC-2000 and the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-B at the front of the ship for the forward areas and it says it right there near the label that says Photon Torpedo Launchers.
I pulled the trigger on an Eaglemoss subscription. I went with the standard size collection. I pick up some of the XL ships to hang from the ceiling in my classroom, the kids like them too.
RIP Mr. Nimoy. "Accepting death - by understanding that every life comes to an end, when time demands it. Loss of life is to be mourned, but only if the life was wasted." -Spock
I don't know if it's a trick of the camera, but when looking at the B next to the Excelsior (And comparing it to my own), the proportions looks slightly... off for the Enterprise. I remember hearing that she was a completely new mold versus a retool, so do they look more similar in person?
The Lakota refit Excelsior-Class, as I have been calling this configuration now for too long to learn anything different, is one of my favorite ships. The Excelsior-Class was already cool, but kinda simple. This config makes it perfect. Great little model.
Looked into something i know you've inquired about in other videos, the number on the display stand, i see yours is 2900 a/a, i checked mine and it is 6544 a/c, I'm guessing this is like a production number of some sort. Would be interesting to find out what it all means, so it seems every one has a different number.
My english is not good.
Apparently the changes made to turn the Excelsior into the Enterprise-B were permanent and couldn't be undone without damaging the model, which seems a bit short-sighted to me, since it was a frequently-used model, and they'd modified the Reliant model several times (i.e. as the Bozeman) without doing anything permanent. In any case, the model was only ever used once more after that, as the Lakota (the ship that fought the Defiant in "Paradise Lost"), and when the Excelsior herself was used in the episode "Flashback", they had to build a new one from scratch (about half the size of the original). Every Excelsior appearance after that was either that model or CG.
toddsmitts They weren't meant to be permanent. The extra bulge around the deflector was done so they could do the nexus damage without damaging the main model, and the rest of the add ons were to show the ship design has been beefed up. But the glue they used ended up damaging the original Excelsior model anyway, which is why it was kept with everything on for the Lakota.
Looks like this model is lacking some detailing on the star drive section. They still did a really good job though. Another great review Irishtrekkie! Thanks again
Wow this Looks much better as for example the Excelsior! First of all thanks for all of ur Videos! I´m watching them now for a couple of weeks! The Ship Collection is now in Germany on Issue 5! The Issues are different as the ones you shown us ! Last 2 in Germany: Issue 4 Bird of Prey and Issue 5 Excelsior! I´m not happy with the Excelsior to be honest! But the NCC 1701 B look far better!
hi there IrishTrekkie love your videos im also a star trek starships subcrider but there a tip i have to tell you about the Uss Enterprise-Ncc-1701-B Nacelle fings if u look at the Ncc-1701-B at the end of nacelle you'll see there is no registery number on the outside's mines and plenty other vids ive seen are saying the registery number meant to be on both sides .
Looking forward to getting this one, its one of my faves, I'm not subscribed to this line. I have been buying them separately and only getting the ones i really want. They are quite nice and i think well worth the money. Great reviews, keep em coming.
Captain Harriman was just an example of the new starship Captains. All talk, no action. Kirk was a Captain of how it used to be done. " No, you stay on the bridge, with your crew. I'll do it." Captain James T. Kirk.2232-2293 ( ?)
I just got mine the other day and I really like it. My clear part of my stand is clear just like the others and not murky like yours. So it might be just yours. However there is a problem with my clear stand. It's bent, it's crooked. So when the ship is mounted it looks like it is leaning and turning. I had to come back to this video to see if it was supposed to be like that. I guess not, as your stands straight. So mine has this lean/turn look to it. It's pretty cool in one way with how it makes the ship look more in motion, but it's also a bit bothersome because now compared to the rest it's not straight. So I have mixed feelings about it. I suppose it's neat though that I might have the only one that looks like it's turning. Maybe it's caught in the nexus fighting the gravity wells. ;p
I wounder if we will get the kit bash Curry class ship based on the Excelsior class its some kind or carrier i think, anyway this ship is a little disappointing in detail and missing a phaser bank on the top of the saucer section ,great review as always Irish Trekkie . R.I.P MR NIMOY !
@irishtrekkie I love the Micro Machines way Better it’s smaller, and I just got the Star Trek Generations Micro Machines 3 pack on my birthday in August that came with the Enterprise B D with saucer separation And Klingon Bird Of Prey dark version
And Mr Nimoy also gave us the Oberth class, Spacedock. and of course Star Trek 4 The Voyage Home the success of which led to The Next Generation and everything that followed..we owe him much.. R.I.P
I'm noticing that Eaglemoss does some things very well and others really bad, often on the same model, from not painting the impulse engines to leaving off the name of the ship (Akira class). So while I kinda like this one, some aspects make me cringe, like the gaps and the "B". Still not sure if it's worth the money.
RIP Leonard Nimoy. Yes love Enterprise B it was badass. Like to see a new series with Captain Worf maybe a titan class Enterprise with a couple defiants in the hanger.
on your #47 video I would say yes to the shuttles as a special edition four pack. I live in the U.S. and I subscribe to the collection and I get the special editions. I would love to get the shuttles!!!
Always enjoy your reviews but yes I think your being a little too generous with this one, it has most of the flaws of the woeful Excelsior and a few new ones..shouldn't the warp nacelle ends have the ship name on the outside as well?
The Enteriprise-B (and Excelsior) is my favorite Trek ship... and they cheesed out on this one and the Excelsior - The Excelsior is the only one I haven't been satisfied with... they definitely should have made the secondary hull on both Excelsior-class ships metal... and the Secondary Hull on the Excelsior is too small and thin... its too front heavy, doesn't feel good in the hand and is not weighty like all the rest of the ships I've got so far... it feels and looks much more cheap, flimsy and toy like due to the lack of weight and substance... The Honshu and Reliant have about 3x the amount of metal, again I wonder why they cheesed out on these two - (my favs of course) when the rest are so good and solid - and the size is all wrong, it should be bigger than the 1701-A and its actually smaller... I busted out for the XL ship, which is supposedly great, and I read the secondary hull on XL is die-cast... just missed getting one for $60 - so I had to shell out for it :( - I was considering getting the Excelsior XL until I read that the secondary hull is plastic like the small one... not worth the extra $$
Farewell Nemoy I always thought the Enterprise B looks like a fat Excelsior! It´s the ugliest Enterprise in my opinion. Still like the Excelsior though.
got the ship and one warp nacelle is slightly off. I also noticed that the black line from the nacle is missing. Also not one window is coloured but strangely I like it better this way. And did anyone notice that the down aft has no detail wat so ever exept the blue lines?
Kam Munoz It really does. I think it would be fine if they just would have left the engeneering hull untouched and slimmed down the rediculously large additional impulse engines.
According to the book " The captain's daughter" John Harriman got command of the Enterprise. B.by his father Admiral " Black Jack" Harriman.who was quite a chump for an Admiral.
if you have other eaglemoss ships like galaxy or enterprise a you see the difference i found this ship here is big fail much to much to small the saucer and other parts to small to little have not the size of the other ships :-(
Yeah, Captain Harriman seemed way to inexperienced to command a ship of the line. Perhaps the real Captain was set to arrive on Tuesday as well! Ha,ha!

John Harriman: " CAPTAIN Kirk, what do we DO ???", Kirk: " Hold my beer !". John Harriman : " can't sir , beer won't be here until Tuesday".
I think the Excelsior Class Starships were the first Federation starships built with a Battle Bridge and if you don't believe me look at that picture of the Masters Systems Display of both the U.S.S. The stand on my enterprise B is slightly bent to one side so it makes it look like its banking to Port
Picard " Too bad the Enterprise was destroyed. , number one, she had a few good light years left in her still".
RIP Mr. Nimoy. "Accepting death - by understanding that every life comes to an end, when time demands it. Loss of life is to be mourned, but only if the life was wasted." -Spock
Do you recycle the plastic these models come in?.
I don't know if it's a trick of the camera, but when looking at the B next to the Excelsior (And comparing it to my own), the proportions looks slightly... off for the Enterprise. I remember hearing that she was a completely new mold versus a retool, so do they look more similar in person?
look at 14:59 how small it is on display holder and take look at other ships on this position
Kirk took charge of the situation, and Harriman was promptly replaced.
For such a big ship, she has a small deflector dish.
The Lakota refit Excelsior-Class, as I have been calling this configuration now for too long to learn anything different, is one of my favorite ships. The Excelsior-Class was already cool, but kinda simple. This config makes it perfect. Great little model.
The Enterprise B also shown up as the USS Lakota on Deep space nine.

Leonard Nimoy didn't say that that was William Shatner at the end of Star Trek 2
My favourite ship design

You are right. I looked closely at the study model pics and you can see the Reg should be on both side. Good spot.
but she a great model love the Excelsior Class Refit
Looking forward to getting this one, its one of my faves, I'm not subscribed to this line. I have been buying them separately and only getting the ones i really want. They are quite nice and i think well worth the money. Great reviews, keep em coming.

HFalconYT I have a few that are leaning too
IrishTrekkie A few different Ships in general or a few Enterprise-B's?
IrishTrekkie A few different Ships in general or a few Enterprise-B's?
HFalconYT XD Im surprised you mention that.
To quote Scotty.
No bloddy A B C D or E.
FLAME4564
Mention what?
Wouldn’t a bottle filled with champagne freeze in the vacuum of space
thanks for doing these I enjoy watching your videos
I just wish B was done better really stands out having it beside the excelsior like that
It a sad to see leonard nimoy past away and don't forget the uss lakota same class as the enterprise b.
Brilliant! Really looking forward to getting mine!
:)

I cried when they destroyed the D...
Those flares on the sides of the ship were made so there would be a place for Kirk to be " killed" in.
Star Trek 7 boasted two Enterprise starships, and one wounded, the other destroyed. 78 years apart.
I like it, it's always good to add an Enterprise to the collection. Only the TOS, A, C, J & NX Refit to go!
Awesomeness
Are you counting the Kelvin timeline Enterprises, too? And what about the XCV 330? This one will be an Eaglemoss issue as well and I want it badly. :)
Don't forget 'E' , Sovereign class :-)
i wish i could have the part unassembled und do the job on my own...
Dear sirs is possible you could make models of star trek online T-6 starship's
IrishTrekkie doesn't make models, he gets them from an online subscription from Eaglemoss.
And Mr Nimoy also gave us the Oberth class, Spacedock. and of course Star Trek 4 The Voyage Home the success of which led to The Next Generation and everything that followed..we owe him much.. R.I.P
Captain John Harriman , Captain Demora Sulu , Captain Thomas Jackson Jr.( as far as I know.)
The missing name on the Thunderchild is actually canon :D...First Contact model does not have a name aswell^^
RIP Leonard Nimoy. Yes love Enterprise B it was badass. Like to see a new series with Captain Worf maybe a titan class Enterprise with a couple defiants in the hanger.

Nice review!
thank you
Farewell Nemoy
I always thought the Enterprise B looks like a fat Excelsior! It´s the ugliest Enterprise in my opinion. Still like the Excelsior though.

I'm glad I'm not the only one... this ship looks like the cruse liner version of the U.S.S. Enterprise
Kam Munoz It really does. I think it would be fine if they just would have left the engeneering hull untouched and slimmed down the rediculously large additional impulse engines.
The B is my favorite ship of all, but I guess someone that spells 'Nimoy' - 'Nemoy' would have their head up their ass for sure...
2293 - so almost 300 years after the movie was made.
The back of the ship has that window section the early Excelsior NX - 2000 had.( It was later changed.).
I heard those "wings" on the engineering hull were added so they had a place to " kill" Kirk. The hull would have been totally destroyed other wise.
According to the book " The captain's daughter" John Harriman got command of the Enterprise. B.by his father Admiral " Black Jack" Harriman.who was quite a chump for an Admiral.
i was relay existed for this model but looking at the model it looks like a bit of a let-down
There are some low points to it
My Excelsior is on its way.
Nice model, just never liked the Excelsior design. That fat engineering hull just put me off.
They took Generations off netflix ; (..
if you have other eaglemoss ships like galaxy or enterprise a you see the difference i found this ship here is big fail much to much to small the saucer and other parts to small to little have not the size of the other ships :-(
Oh poor nimroy
Nimoy... sorry
The united starscreming eauntrapenuer
