I'm having a hard time dealing with whatever happened to the natural voices that Read Aloud gave me, which are way easier to digest when using, but now, the natural voices are gone, and I'm stuck with the robotic ones. Any idea what happened?
Is there an app that would let me read out loud, proofread my MS Word doc, before sending. I own an MS Office program that I bought years back. Back then it was big $$$ but tell now did everything I needed. I do not use it enough to buy 365. What can I do, use, if any? PS, I tried all in word tips/tricks. I think I require an aftermarket app.
Hello! So my issue is that its buggy for me either using read aloud or option escape. When I use "read aloud" under review if I stop to make a change while its reading it stops reading whereas I would like it to keep going. If I do option escape that doesn't happen how ever it wants to start reading where it feels like it rather than at the beginning of the highlighted section.

Yeah, so when I check the settings for the read aloud section, my only two options are "Male" and "Female." I tried downloading the voice packs and restarting my PC, and there's no change in the selection options.
what about when using speak in M S you get blue lines under sentences looks like it is correction my question is what are they and if is is for correction tell me how?
This was bothering me, too. I figured it out. I had to restart my computer. Then, in Word, in the lower right corner, I noticed that English (United States) was there. When I clicked on that label, it brought up a language window. I chose one of the other English (Country Name) options that I had installed, and that's when I noticed that my voice name options changed. Open a Word document and check to see if a language name is in the lower right corner of the Word screen.
This is the answer. With Word open, click on the search box on the top center. Type in "language". Click on "Set Proofing Language". Select the type i.e. English (Australia) or English (United Kingdom). Then click on "Set As Default". Restart Word and your downloaded languages should now appear.
I love the Read Aloud feature! Thank you! I get an error message in Word "You're offline. Some voices are only available online, so the voice you hear may change." Then it doesn't read anything. I rebooted. No change. I can save it as a PDF and it will read it aloud in MS Edge. Any ideas?
Read Aloud has vanished for me with the Microsoft word automatic update, do you know what it is I have to do to get it back as the keyboard shortcuts aren't even loading it up :(
Hi Kym - that is odd. I love the READ button and am even starting to use it on my email on my cell. MS has invested heavily in this tech as an accessibilty feature. If you not already aware, the CEO (Nadala) has a severly handicapped child and is personally driving much of this change. I have never seen it fail. :(

I accidentally hit something and it started reading aloud. Startled me. I came here to find out how I did it without meaning to. I’m still baffled.
I have 365 and no matter what I do it won't read aloud to me.
