    Ouch, now I understand why you sent me here, those Jubilee clips are definitely a must....... Your fingers were lucky to have escaped without any missing parts.

    An antenna I want to build for 11meters I have built several for 2meters and 70cm but I have just returned to 11meter band currently running a home brew T2LT and over the last few days a 5/8 gain master home brew, on a makeshift 10m mast. Fantastic channel keep them videos coming 26TG064, 26CT4525 regards Tony

    Quite the friendly design! What I'm wondering is how much of a compromise in performance is it when compared with a wider-spaced (7') 2 el true Yagi? ...or Quad?
    I respect your ingenuity in repairing it on the spot and getting it back to performing top notch. 👍
    I experienced a similar occurrence when a galvanized heavy-duty 4-section Rohn telescoping mast - sporting a large 1970's old-school Weinguard TV antenna & rotor - slid down like that and caught the web of my thumb between guy wire rings.
    I was a 17yr old football player who (fortunately) spent too many hours in the gym and had massively toned hand muscles or (the Doc said) I would've lost my thumb. All due to the "Mickey-mouse" way my father did things to save time & money - usually at the expense of either greater future time & dollars (or someone else's) and in this case had installed the mast upside-down - with the smaller diameter at the bottom.
    - I yelled F(A)CK! and jumped down off the 8' high roof trying to stop the spurting of blood. Anyway, a few months later all was well and no loss suffered other than my pride, and I assure you, the first word in response to any further requests from my father to assist him in one of his "Projects" became the same as my last word;
    *_"NO!"_* 🤨
    *_...So_* I'm working on finishing something similar to your portable. I've built a 2 El Quad for the *"Static mobile"* (

      Interesting, thanks. The Moxon will out perform a 3el.Yagi anfd not far behind a 2el.quad. More to come here. I didn't get rid of the FT450D. It stays at home and is a fantastic radio. Cheers

    Some signal difference there from Magmount to Moxon, did you do any RX TX comparison's against Gus's Quad while you were there? Great wee watch again.

      We did but we were a bit overwhelmed by various factors and errors. Both antennae very strong. Cheers

    Your very lucky you did't catch some skin as it slipped down.. yes the way to put mast up is a lot better than before saves time .. i did here you last night but it was a pile up i tried a couple of time when i think you were on the car roof antenna then you said you had to go 73's Max
