I love how Andrias is a reflection of what Anne could have become if she didn’t have her parents or the Plantars and it’s even shown through both of them having the blue colouring

I think the scene with the Principal is actually very interesting. Like, yeah, she lets Marcy and Sasha off without an essay. But she’s not giving an the homework because she’s mean or unreasonable. She just sees that Anne is struggling with standing up to her friends and doesn’t have a clear idea of who she is yet. Sasha and Marcy know who they are. Anne pre Amphibia let people walk all over her. She wasn’t actually happy. She even says later in the episode that before she came to Amphibia she didn’t love herself. The essay wasn’t supposed to be a punishment but a chance to help her figure it out. I actually really like the Principal. She seems to genuinely care about her students and wants to help them grow as people. Like, it’s fine to be carefree but Anne was an extreme of that. It wasn’t healthy.

It’s both flawed and understandably caring.
It's a very teacher answer, to the problem she sees in Anne. The fact that she didn't do more than reprimand the other shows she isn't in it to be punitive, but to use it as a teaching moment.
Not only that, it’s not a huge deal since from the looks of it she had to write like, one small page. X says it’s a private school, and trust me when I tell you that in private schools one page is like a daily thing. In my teenage years I was in a private school and it was terribly difficult, but most often the teachers do care, and that principal was 100% right.
Regardless of how you feel. Sprig, Grime, and Andrias were each girls first real friend. It took them for us to realize that their friendship was terrible. Andrias maybe not so much, but he shared her interest way more than anne or sasha ever did. Plus he suggested the temples so marcy wouldn't be killed, cause the core wanted to outright kill her on the spot.
It's nice to see another person who sees the lengths Andreas has gone to to keep Marcy from getting hurt.
It feels like what was driving Andrias and all he wanted was his dad’s approval and for him to be proud of him, but sadly he wanted all that from someone who didn’t really love him.

He also said he begged the core to re-consider, and looked hurt when Marcy got possessed, he couldn't look at her, saying that it hurts when friends leave, etc.
Andrias may have committed irredeemable actions, but he still deserves compassion I think. His father and the Core spent _ALL THESE YEARS_ degrading his self-worth. Taking advantage of his pain and betrayal to isolate him. Making him feel like his existence is worthless if he doesn't commit to this invasion. It's genuinely awful, and I wish he could've been given a better hand.
It's true. Andrias is supposed to be a foil to Anne, and the lesson she finally built up to. In her speech this episode she says "I let people walk all over me." and her reasoning being = "I didn't love myself, not really." Which is most likely what Andrias is going through.
While I agree that the Core and Aldrich had been manipulating Andrias and draining him of self-worth, he himself didn't really seem to stand up to them. The moment we got of Andrias and Marcy meeting, and Andrias trying to convince the Core to not kill Marcy was great, but if he truly was redeemable, he would've seen the joys of having friends, opened his heart to them, and stood up to the Core and especially his father.
@@startrooper6910 I get that, but in that sense it’s exactly why he’s a parallel to Anne. If he stood up for himself then he just would of been Anne. The point being that Anne gained enough self respect and love for herself to not get pushed around. Andrias hates himself.

Andrias even in some moments in these flashbacks he truly did care about Marcy since she was literally the first friend he's ever had in a thousand years and honestly, he was just a pawn to the Core. All this suffering and him shutting himself out just to get the approval of a father who didn't love him at all while he severed all ties to his friends who still thought of him even in their last moments Leif's letter made me tear up a bit cuz she really did care for Andrias to the very end.
If you dont remember, during Leif's vision she saw the mood coming closer to Amphibia. So that vision/profecy is coming true at the end of this episode
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa this episode was honestly so good. Anne's character developement really touched me. And Sasha's character development (the fact that she was the one to free Marcy's body from control was poetic since she herself controlled marcy for so long). Marcy's character development in overcoming her toxic-level escapism. The planters and boonchuys really truly being family and the Planters facing their trauma was something I wasn't expecting to be addressed but I'm so glad it was. Also, the K-Pop was cringe a little but you know, I loved it, because Anne is a 13 year old girl (of Asian decent!) and K-Pop being the thing that got her going was kinda great. The animation was so good too!!!
Oh also, next week is only 30 minutes! This one was the "hour long" one haha. There's a 13 second promo for the finale out now too!

I find encouraging others that they can and should improve them selves is a GOOD thing . Its not demeaning, its called seeing some one can do better and wanting them to do better. and its not even an unfair punishment.
If Anne had never been to Amphibia she would never have learned to do her own thing. she would have forever just done whatever Sasha wanted her to do. She would n ever have grown or learned to care about other people. She would spend her life being manipulated and taken advantage of . She needed to be removed from Sasha and sent to war to learn to be a better person.
with out that change it could have taken her years of doing small crimes before she would have realized that her actions were irresponsible. To wake up to the idea that letting her self be a victim to some one who doesn't care about the safety of her or others was a bad idea.
you shouldn't tell people to stay in toxic relationships if they are "Living there best life and doing what they want" good Adults want to see improvement in the people they care about even if that has to be done threw tough love. Letting people stay abused is not showing them kindness.
Anne needed to wake up and learn that friends who want you to do bad things for there own amusement are not real friends
going to war and watching your friends die was the best thing that ever happened to Anne and Sasha and it saved there friendship but with out that event I don't think Sasha would have ever changed who she was, Marcey would have been forced to move and Anne would have just been Sasha's side kick who says yes to any thing she wants and never gets her own free will.
Ive known people in the exact same situation. Ive known multiple Sasha types and the worst thing you can do is stay friends with them.
Being asked to reflect on who you are and what you want when some one older sees that you can be better is not a harsh punishment.
Children need structure and punishment and consequences and guidance. bad parents are ones who let there kids do any thing they want because they enjoy there lives unchanged.
btw the L of Leif P of plantar thing was seen when they found her room's door, it had the p and a faded mark suggesting that it had been upside down for a while

Although i think what andrias did was irredeamable, he still has some redeameble qualities and he can still do some good. I mean you can clearly see he cares for marcy even after what he did, his first stinct was to tell anne to go check on marcy.
It reminds of what my friend once told me, a person is like a dice, they are have several sides and you can like them for their good side yet still not forgive their past mistakes.

@@CuteLittleInvisibleSouls Sasha did start an invasion as well, and most of the destruction in season three was Darcy's doing. Sasha did get a sort of redemption, but I don't think that Anne forgiving someone automatically means they were redeemed. Sasha redeemed herself in this exact episode by defeating Darcy, but I forgot to mention it in my first comment.

It was really sad to see andrias foll down in tears 😢😭 and the core forcing him to get back up and ceep fitting just like how empire palpatine would do to Darth Vader.
Remember, in Leifs vision, she saw the Moon crashing into Amphibia. She said they were harming the ecosystem of the multiverse, so I think we're in for some real Cosmic Crap in the last episode. Also, the prophecy doesn't really seem fulfilled like Sasha said

Idk what their choice will be, but it's gonna be crazy probably.
The Hardest Thing is only 29 minutes long, and on live TV it's a 30 minute block, meaning no commercial breaks... I'm looking forward to it
What I find interesting about Darcy is that I too noticed similarities with Spinel, but even more than that, I think there may also have been elements of Soul Eater too - most notably Maka (the main character, wielding Soul who can transform into a scythe) when under the influence of Black Blood; it ups her power and makes her ignore the pain she feels, but also causes her to act a little loopy
After the Evangelion reference last episode, and Gundam-like sounds and animation in this one, I wouldn't be too surprised if that also served as some inspiration... this episode even referenced Fire Emblem, which I never expected to see (Dream-Sasha is dressed as Edelgard, specifically her post-timeskip design)

I understood ur mindset and reasoning for disliking the principle but i thought she was fantastic and not at all how u described her. I saw the principle as supportive of anne and just wanted her to find her true self, to stand up for herself and find meaning. Evidentley it worked because that essay is a huge part of the episode. I wish i had supportive teachers, instead my teachers suspended me constantly, then expelled me and eventually expelled me from the entire school district when in reality i just needed counseling and guidance.

It's fine to empathize with villains and feel conflicted, that's just a sign that you have a good villain. Andrias is a tragic character, he brought this upon himself and cannot go back, but he has the opportunity to use the rest of his efforts for good, even if it doesn't undo what he did.
I love it when a show can make a villain I can empathize with. They are some of my most favorite characters. Of course I love villains who are just plain evil for the sake of evil (ie. Bill Cipher and The Joker), but depth is always appreciated for the baddies

Spoiler Alert: My thoughts on All In:
Man; that was a lot. First another flashback. Those Herons were the same ones that killed Sprig and Polly’s parents; I’m glad that the Plantars got over their trauma and saved Anne’s parents. Frobo 2.0 is amazing and awesome. Grime lost an arm of his instead of Sasha; that’s a twist. Anne was able to use her powers past the time limit she has when using them. It was interesting what the core was showing Marcy. I’m glad that the three girls got reunited but the core is loose in that helmet with legs now. I can’t believe that they made a chibi that had the moon falling onto Amphibia; hopefully Andrias will be able to help. I’m glad that the core was defeated too; but not fully because it’s still around. Andrias being half robot surprised me but it was probably to keep himself young for a thousand years.
I too got Spinel vibes from the Darcy with a scythe scene!!!
I'm absolutely certain the Moon is falling because of the Core. It is pretty darned immature to destroy a world simply because you lost the battle for it, especially when talking about an collection of minds thousands of years old, but we have already see the Core is a control-freak with entitlement issues... I'm sorry the Core was not destroyed from within by Marcy, but I still hope she is instrumental in the Core's demise.
I loved this episode! There were a lot of theories about either anne or Sasha losing an arm or Eye. I did not expect it to be grime though. I’m glad he’s OK. In the fight with the core and Sasha was awesome. And I feel so bad for her cause her back must hurt like crazy you could see blood on her back from that slash. Excited for the next episode and next reaction to it.

Maybe that’s was the point with the Principal mostly chewing out on Anne. From my experience school higher ups are annoying by bullies and pranksters but they admire that they know who they are for the most part. The kids who get bullied and pranked on the other hand are easy targets for troublemakers like that. Anne fits that bill pretty well, with her getting roped in with Sasha and Marcy. Carefree people like Anne in general tend to be easy targets for trouble. Being carefree isn’t a bad thing. But being too carefree like Anne will result in trouble too. Like joining bad groups of people like street gangs and religious & political extremists. Anne basically went through that in the episode “Toad Tax”.
I’m kind of going through trouble with my carefreeness right now. I’ve been too carefree about the elections in my country for the most part that when the time came I’m now struggling on who to vote for because I wasn’t caring too much about it.
Basically the Principal chewing Anne out has its flaws, but has a point if you look into it.

Calling Darcy Spinel Jr. I liked and agree with that. I liked the K-pop scene motivating Anne and Mr. X saying “here are your tax dollars at work.” When I saw the scene after grime got his arm sliced off I thought that he died but when I saw his leg kick Sasha’s arm towards her; I was like he’s alive. Also how are Grime and Sasha walking after their injuries. Frogs can regrow their limbs but idk if toads can. There is a promo for the next, final, and last episode which is called The Hardest Thing and it shows that the core is somehow on and controlling the moon.
*Specially it means music inspires everyone sometimes and two that would mean more comebacks for Blackpink and groups under their label(cough cough babymonster and treasure for example)*
I think you misunderstood the opening. The principal wasn't punishing Anne because of the prank, it seems like she didn't even really care that they did the prank. By the size of that folder of incomplete work it looks like Anne was already failing school. Considering all the principal was asking from her was a small essay, that's like... one super chill principal. Trust me, I'd know, I almost failed highschool multiple times due to incomplete homework assignments. Had to take summer school classes to make up for it 2 years in a row. She also admits to being pushed around by her friends. And from what we've seen from Anne's flashbacks she definitely WASN'T happy. This principal seems to genuinely be worried about Anne, which is super sweet to me.
It's quite interesting how some people or in the case of The Owl House, a lot of people try defend child protagonists. The term character development exists for a reason and that's exactly what happened in both series, but some viewers don't understand the point of view of non-abusive parents or education professionals. Luz brought snakes to school and camp wasn't a place like in Phineas and Ferb, it was just a boring place to learn to differentiate fiction from reality and Anne didn't know what a real friendship was and neglected her own studies. And Luz and Marcy have something in common, they both went to other worlds to live a fantasy without thinking about the consequences.
In Andrias defense, its so easy to say what we would do in other people's situations but in the end, we are not them. And also as someone who has family issues, family hits hard and hurts. It's really hard to leave abusers too even when we know its wrong. I actually like his issues because I kinda understand his pain. Everyone here has baggage man. Also, he said the same thing as Anne said to Sasha in the next episode to the Core+his dad.
It was so cool. This whole series is really all about friendship wounds like Andrias and his old friends and the Calamity Trio. I really wish Ive seen this show when I was a kid. But at least the newer generations can learn it though. Breakups are hard but Friendship Breakups they leave a scar man.
Pretty irrelevant detail but you can see Marcy's hair grow from earth to Amphibia and then after she takes off the helmet. Cute detail

Andrias has *always* been ambiguous about The Core. He had a thousand years to join with it. Instead, he chose to turn himself into an undying cyborg a-la Darth Vader. He sacrificed a teenage girl to it rather than become part of it. He doesn't want to be a part of The Core. That's his father's desire.
Another parallel between Andrias and Vader is they both may be redeemable at the end. Neither were truly evil. They were both pushed into evil by their masters.
One of our fundamental flaws as offspring is so often, we crave the love and approval of our parents, even when they treat us rotten. How many people do you know who seek Mommy's and/or Daddy's love, even to the point of destroying themselves to get it?
I think his father and The Core demanded that he get the box back before he’d be able to join them.

What's up with the wounds this episode?? Grime looses an arm (btw I though Anne was gonna be the one who suffered that) but then he seems ok, Sasha has her back slashed, she should be mildly paralized, and Darcy receives a cut on her jaw by Sasha (cool detail btw, sasha - anne parallel) wich btw was her blood green??? and it wasn't seen again
Well, Grime's arm was cauterized, so no danger of dying from it. And Sasha's back was also cauterized, and it clearly didn't hit anything vital. And the green was probably from whatever was in the healing tank, which probably also healed the cut.

Honestly, I think the Principal might've tried to discipline Sasha and Marcy too, but Sasha didn't care and Marcy didn't really pay attention.
But she didn't necessarily punish them which was fine. She just told them to apply themselves more productively instead of causing trouble. As for Anne, it wasn't a personal attack or picking favorites because she could see how Anne was holding herself back n wanted to give her a wake up call to find out who she is hence the essay.
So andrias is basically Darth Vader 2.0 being partly a robot 🤖👽

Outside being a very good person to people Anne don't have other super qualities,she doesn't boss around,she is not super smart and she would have to get by life without Sasha and Marcy in the future.And just like any normal person if you don't have goals or keep getting pushed and doing other things and not focusing on yourself you gonna be the one who got the worst case scenario for all this lost time,having fun with your friends is not wrong,but only fun is a problem,not worry about everything but set some kind of goal,even if is minimal just so you have a reason to not just get pushed and focus on yourself.

I doubt Grime could regrow his arm- if Stumpy can’t do it, I doubt Grime could. Unless toads can and frogs can’t, which wouldn’t make too much sense in my opinion.
Also, while we don’t know the details, we do know what happened to Barrel in the end. He died while defending a helpless village from a monstrous creature. Sasha and Grime found his hammer lodged in the head of that same creature, where it had supposedly stayed for over 900 years

That's because it wasn't really a punishment, she just wanted to see some effort from Anne when she hasn't put in much at all, I wish I had a principal that cared that much. It was an Essay, no word count, or page count, or specifics, she just wanted Anne to get some idea on who she is and who she would like to be, instead of letting Sasha and Marcy decide that for her.
It makes sense that how andrias was able to live for 1000 years originally I imagined him ass l being a part of the Leviathan family that's how he was able to live this long but seeing him ass part robot makes more sense.

That's highschool for ya. They act like how you are you are in that moment dictates how you always be. Like they think you very change. Highschool guidance counselors are just like that. They think you need to go to college as well, when that's not true for everyone. They think grades matter, nope. Honestly you get through life pretty well with low grades but if you very social and connect well with your community your going to get some nice jobs because people can say nice things about you. Which that is pretty much Anne. Also in College the professors are chill, even they say college or going to universities isn't for everyone and that people shouldn't feel pressured to go to college because someone said that was the best choice for them. Honestly in USA if you have a skillet, social within the community and have an supportive family or friends by your side. You can accomplish a lot. Look all these people who didn't do well in school do so much with theor lives.
