I love this video but question I just visited a new therapist a few days ago. I am 10 weeks post tummy tuck and lipo to flanks. She told me to Self massage sending to the groin ? Is this not effective at all Because of The scar tissue ?
Hi Chelsea, if the majority of the skin below your original belly button was removed, the lymphatics in the skin will anatomically drain to the under arm lymph nodes. And lymph cannot drain through scars. However, they do reconnect and reroute. So, at 10 weeks plus, you can do both - but I'd massage more upwards than down towards the scar. How has your scar healed?
My scar has healed well no issues with healing. Just feel bloated in that area and can’t tell if it’s extra skin, fat or liquid. If you accept pics and consulting I would be more than happy to pay you for a consult. I can tell you really know your stuff and that’s what I need :)
I didn't know that. My doctor didn't talk to me about this at all. However, I am not very swollen at the moment and I am 4 weeks post op (for TT). My doctor just said swelling could last up to 6 months. Would I still benefit from the massage? Thank you. I find your videos very helpful, but I haven't massage myself yet because I am not sure if I should or not.
Great explanation. You are great! Thank you.
Thank you!
Does this apply to c sections too or only tummy tuck?

@@chelseafigueroa9555 sorry for the delay in replying. I've just noticed your question now. I'm happy to see a photo but maybe it's too late now?
