"All these other things, like a job, a boyfriend, cool clothes, cool car, bank account, portfolio, even food, they can leave or be taken away from you, but WHAT YOU CREATE INTERNALLY is something that no one can take away from you and of which you have infinite supply"
This is so true.
I LOVE seeing people talk about their passion! Like they’re never gonna run out of things to say, how they lean forward and never breaking their eye contact. Ahh Love Constance as a whole!
You are do tight. It's s great take and she is a engaging person. I just love people like that. It makes life worth while too. All if this and good looking too. I hope that she gets more versatile roles. She takes her craft very seriously..
Constance is 10/10. I swear.
Yes.
Wow this particular clip really gives me a diff perspective of her 👍
Same
Seeing Constance show the fanatic part of the craft, the technical stuff that people outside that craft don't get, and talking about will get family to zone out. It's the most alluring thing I've seen in a celebrity.
I think I just fell for Constance Wu
same
Not a great rear which is a must.
She is a remarkable person,
teachers are not meant to humiliate others esp children
how she protected her parents and survived AWESOME WOMAN
Constance Wu is an actor/thinker
She’s right, what you build inside, no one can take that away from you. Just to see someone doing what he/she loves is always a pleasure. Go Constance goo !! 😘
Wait is she directing yet?? That last bit of this video is pure golden proof that she should be directing. I'm hype for that feature or that short, whenever it's coming. This woman understands her art.
I truly admire and respect people who talk about their jobs like that.
Ok I can see why she said all those things about FOTB being renewed. She's so freaking passionate about her craft.
@Morphing Jar lol no. you can express disappointment and be gracious at the same time. there's a huge group of people who make way less than her that depend on that show. She could have just owned it and instead tried to turn into it a "people don't believe women" copout.
@Morphing Jar lol oh here we go with your pathetic white knighting who can't reply normally without insults. She's not going to be friends with you defending her on a youtube comment, so take a look at your life since you're getting so mad over somebody who you don't know.
You can be truthful with your feelings in a professional way - if you can't understand that then it shows you don't have very much of a career or job honey. It''s called having tact. Her TV show is what made her into a star. Don't bite the hands that feed you. Not to mention NONE of her co-stars defended her both on FOTB and Crazy Rich Asians about her comments.
1) I didn't say she dictated the new season can exist.
2) Well duh, she's under contract because she complained about the show being renewed.
3) People who lost their jobs over a show can be begging in the street or face financial hardship until they find another gig.
Not very smart now are you? lol
Morphing Jar lol again not so smart are you? She’s the breakout star of the show - meaning if she bad mouths the show or her actions have a negative impact on the show, viewers will turn away and it gives reason for the network to cancel the only Asian centric show on television. Lol go get a real job - a real workplace requires tact and learning how to say things correctly which you obviously have no experience having and it’s sad to see you crumble in anger honey.
@@chrisc8079 - She should stay in a job she does not want so others can ride her gravy train???
What did she say about it?
ok, completely just fell for Constance Wu- intelligent, deep and strong! and so humble and natural!! great interview
I never comment but I see her as a director one day, and a damn good one
same, check back in a year or so :P
Thought the same during that end rant
I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!! It fuelled my soul to see that she is that passionate about acting. Why aren’t more people like this?!?!?
Amen watching this at 4am and remembering my college training and thirst and hunger for the acting craft. Thank you for someone being able to state the process so beautifully
Wow the passion exuded from her is breathtaking👏🏽
3:03 Its so nice to see people who geek out over their craft. I think we all have that (at least) one thing that we are so passionate about and NEED.
For Constance Wu its acting. Its so much fun to see her lose herself when explaining the acting class. I love it!
shes full of wisdom
When Ms. Wu leaned all the way forward and started pointing to that imaginary acting class student in a scene, I think in that moment she became a director. It seemed like they were just relaxing and chatting, and then this laser focus just came out of nowhere. I wonder if she might like to teach acting, or to direct.
Oh my god I love her. She's so real
Vector to the Heavens IkR :’)
The more I watch her, the more I'm in love.
everyone seems so deep in black and white lmao
Nah she is just a woke person
Let’s not undervalue a thoughtful & skilled interviewer or an insightful & interesting interviewee. These are emotionally intelligent communicators-black & white or in color
Her energy is gorgeous.
This woman spoke some truth folks. 100% respect and best wishes
I JUST needed this!
This is really cool!! I love seeing this beautiful lady speak honestly about her struggles. She's so brave! Someone I can really look up to. :)
I like how she thinks a lot. Most people in US live in debt. That's because the malls a full of people on the weekends who spend money they don't have on shit they don't need. But they have to have the fly clothes and the latest gadget. People don't like to live within their means.
Mass consumerism is a problem, but to ignore the bigger problem; the amassing of gargantuan wealth by the rich, is a mistake imo. We have enough resources to feed, clothe and house everyone, the problem is Capitalism is so inefficient at allocating resources.
@@alb0zfinest no doubt there is a bigger problem. But consumerism has nothing to do with the wealthy exploiting capitalism for their gains. Everyone is responsible for their own finances.
Capitalism or else, every system taken to the extreme is bad in general. Gotta find the balance where the system works for everyone.
Spend money they don't have on shit they don't need to impress people they don't like.
Her ferocious zeal frightened me in a very refreshing and positive way.
3:20 I love seeing the passion take over.
I'm a 51 year old man, and I bawled my eyes out pretty much from beginning to end of "Crazy Rich Asians," all 10 times I saw it in the theaters, all because of the connection I felt with her character.
I think she is thoroughly misunderstood in all her conventional interviews. More people need to see this!
Can I just say, I so appreciate her passion, yes of course. But I also don't think I've seen much of a camera shot being so close in to an asian-american's face before and it's like trying to capture her every word and tone and facial muscle and I've grown up (being an asian-canadian) seeing that done for white faces on screens not on asians - so thank you to whoever edited this video!!!
Glad you made it
Her enthusiasm is the best thing
I see so much of myself in her I feel so touched
Thank you for this amazing perspective of Constance Wu. This show is incredibly intelligent and ground breaking. It truly breaks the ice between people in the film industry who are in big features with huge budgets and smaller, independent filmmakers. The knowledge I’ve received from this perspective will stay with me forever. I am taking note and plan to implement what I’ve learned into my independent filmmaking hustle!!!!
What a powerful woman
I just love her ❤️
i love her so much
Yep. That’s the truth.
she's so wise.
This is great.
So much respect for her, a true cinematic mind
I love her. OMG I had that same paper thing happen to me in highschool
Oh my god she's brilliant
Constance is a boss
" Very powerful line - What you create internally no one can take from you"
She is going to be a GREAT director one day.
Amazing interview! I wonder though - who edits the audio on these and why do some people's cuss words get edited and some don't? I thought maybe it was an old vs. new episode thing, but it doesn't seem to be. Personally, I wanna hear every 'fuck' that someone says! lol
RUclips monetization
She’s my fucking spirit animal! ♥️
She's so pretty!
She's literally perfection. Wow
Então, isso aqui é paixão de verdade!
Lol when she goes full gangsta dripping F bombs you see Sam sit back like okay okay wow
I'm in love with constance ❤🙌
Constance NEEDS to pursue directing in the future! She's got the instincts and realness
🖤
I just became a fan
2:10 constance wu tapping into the bruce lee quantum
Passion.......
I’m sitting here listen into to a 20 year old talk about life. Google her and sees actually older than I am. Words of wisdom. 🙏🏻
I don't know who she is but she is remarkable!
Damn her passion here makes me so hawnee.
You are amazing in all degrees.
She says smart things. I'm impressed !
“When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!”
― Ted Grant
I hope she successfully makes a comeback in her career. Regardless of her comments, I always thought she was talented.
I didn’t know she needed a come back. I wasn’t aware she went anywhere
1:13 - (Yikes meme)
I thought the same thing you need me to.
She's very attractive
Dang $40,000 in credit card debt?? 😅
That's not that much. Some people here in Australia have 75k and because of the interest or whatever you call it when you make your weekly payment to pay some of it off it just turns to be some of the interest on the card that you paid off. It sucks!! Don't get one. I prefer saving for shoes and sunglasses (and skates) hehe it's more fun.
3:30 she said fek
the only problem with Constance...... an hour after I watch her in something, I want to watch her again!!!!!
40k in CC debt + student loans as a struggling actor. how could this girl NOT end up in a PLAYBOY spread?
HOW???? 😲😲😲😲😲
and why don't I have that issue? 😔
We buy things we don't need, with money we don't have to impress people we don't like
You have to hit bottom to realize this... if you're lucky.
pinball^
... they way she talks about acting i saw bruce lee in her ,
Its called bankruptcy
hope she enjoys her career in the ditch now
Damn, she Fine... I guess that one boyfriend wasn't helping to pay the bills?
She tries to sound like she is deep but it's obvious some therapist has been feeding her this BS.
I really like her I think she great and cool to hear how hard she has worked. But that line about “know one can take your creativity away” might the biggest bullshit I have heard in a long time, so pretensions. Your an actor luv you read other people’s words in front of a camera, you have no stage or set you just in a room. So no you can your creatively away buy not getting work. Shame I think she is cool.
So who's the one doing the acting 🤔
Comes across exaggerated like a Sandra Oh wannabe
