- Making concrete cylinders for testing, I removed sound because the backround noise was so loud. I will upload another video of this with sound under better conditions. I will be uploading a concrete slump test video soon. Hope you learn something and thanks for watching!
That guy must have been new to making cylinders.
In the field you are making more than one cylinder at a time and you have to work faster than what was shown.
It was slower to show how it's done without concentrating on speed. I can do it much faster, but wanted to show every step.
Thank you for your very helpful efforts. Stay blessed.
Warm personal regards. Ansar
thank you in advance for the reply sir
hello sir, may i ask if how to reach 3000 psi and when to soak in the water, when to remove from the water, and when to take out from its mold? how many days will it stay in the water? when to remove, and when to test for a full 100% maximum strength? thanks
some soak cylinders in water and some dont. and the strength days are 7-14-28 generally.
What would be the effect upon the unit weight if the aggregate be placed in the
cylinder without rodding?
The weight wod be less. It is rodded to remove air pockets
after 24 hours of curing, where should you store the specimen for testing? For example, if you want to determine the compressive strength of a 7day concrete, do you store it in an oven for 7 days prior to testing or should you place it only in room temperature?
Never put in an oven leave it ambient temperature and do not handle or move it after you do the cylinder.
@@fabphil63068 sir another question, do you have an idea on how a geopolymer concrete is cured? do you place it in an oven or let it dr yjust like in ordinary concrete? thanks
Mallot was not used in this video, but according to ASTM it should be.
Do you know how to prestress concrete of this size with rods and nuts?
Do you add water in your cooler where you store the cylinders?
Sometimes. If it doesn't have a lid
I never used a cooler for cylinders. First, cylinders should cure in conditions similar to the actual pour so I always left them out where they were cast close to the slab being poured. Second, on large pours where 12 or more cylinders are required, you would need several coolers. The only exception would be if the temp would dip to below freezing, an insulated box should be used.
What is its girth
4 inches by 8 inches deep
after 24 hrs and by removing, what is the next 27 days treatment ?
Most of the time they are submerged in water. But some people leave them set aside in a cooler.
Is this applicable for all types of mechanical strength testing?
Yes, even though there are various cylinder sizes it is the same basic procedure for all of them.
Hello Elliot, I wanted to ask you how can you demould pervious concrete from it's cylindric cast?
sometimes you can score it plastic with a utility knife
Hello sir, what kind of method did you followed in this video
Hello sir Phillip, does ACI have requirement of minimum standard value for concrete to be used for construction???
Yes, depending on the placement there are requirements for PSI as well as other things.
How much water need for 1 cylinder
You don't put water in the cylinder
But if you have water in a cooler just make sure it doesn't cover top of cylinder
what are the dimensions of the cylinder?
4"x8"
How much water need for 1 cylinder
This is 6x12
whats your answer sir?
