Mechanical watches have all kinds of movements and efficiencies. It is literally a symbol of human ingenuity. If you can afford that watch you dont pay because you need the time lmao you pay for the symbolism.

Literally visited that exact patek phillipe store/museum in Geneva this summer and after learning about watches and how they work its insane. The price in the pateks are for two main reasons . The first being the historical significance of the brand and company. The second is in the engineering and math. The math to create these devices which LITERALLY can go hundreds of years(for pateks) without needing to readjust in addition to the amount of different aspects these fucking watches track PERFECTLY PRECICELY is insane. That watch literally has a chime built in that makes a vibration that you both feel and hear on the hour. On top of that it tracks like 6 different time zones, the celestial patterns, and more ALL WITHOUT ANY SORT OF ERROR FOR DECADES. The craftsmanship and engineering which makes the math so exact is insane. Also i believe this specific watch has 21 individual complications if i remember properly and every dingle complication is tens of thousands of dollars. A rolex gmt master 2 has 2 complications. It tracks time and day of the month, has a complication to also track the GMT time and another complication that makes it self wind itself from just having it on your wrist. Thats a 12k watch. A rolex daytona has 3 more complications than that and that makes it a 35k watch. There is only so much fuckin room for engineering in these things and to fit more and more complications makes it exponentially more expensive and difficult to make while maintaining its accuracy over tens to hundreds of years without adjustments from actual watch makers. 100% worth the money to someone who can afford it. These watches retain and increase in value better than fucking houses. No joke

Even if you did have the money, you still probably wouldn't be able to buy it. Every potential buyer of their higher end models has to go through a rigorous interview process. You basically need to have had decades of relationship with Patek Philippe to even get the chance to buy the Grandmaster Chime.
