Good review. I agree with your closing statement, this is enough bike for a lot of riders. I happy not to deal with yet more moving parts, but still able to ride with confidence. This bike is a solid deal.
Just put an order in for mine. This will be my first bike that costs over $400. I was going to get the 7, but didn't like any of the colors except the black and the local bike shop had an 8 in Blue coming in already.
Nah fathom is a waste of money fork is nothing but trouble breaks aren't good even the geo isn't as good as the roscoe. I would know I got a fathom but upgraded to the roscoe 9 and can't even sell my giant lol Don't waste your money on giant they bottom runners
price is too high you re better off with a canyon stoic 4 and upgrade it with a complete groupset of xt and still you have a spare 300$ to match the roscoe 9 pricing for a super dropper or whatever you like that is 300$. stoic 4 is 1700 against 2700 a full 1k under same travel, specs are a lil high on the roscoe. but look under 700 usd >>>> www.coloradocyclist.com/shimano-xt-m8100-1x12-groupset for the groupset. if you want even more, buy those sell the the stock groupset and forks buy a lyric if you do the numbers you end up with a muuuuuch better bike for about the same price. what i will give trek is the killer looks, cause this bike looks badass not gonna lie.

I do use the lockout when I have to ride any pavement or some fire roads.
Great review Chis. will order one today
A very fair and helpful review 👍.
One has come up for sale locally, and I'm super excited to check it out!
Thanks for your video 👍
This will be my next Trek for sure, great video.
It has helped me out! Thanks for the review
How are the 29x 2.6 tires? That is the one thing I really disliked about the old roscoe was the 27.5 with 2.8 width…it was way to slow for me…
Noticably faster
Is the fork a bummer on the 8? A review by Hardtail Party said don't buy the 8 because of the fork.
It's definitely not as fancy as it could have been but it's fairly new so hard to give a harsh review on it. Spec wise it's a solid fork
Do you feel the 8 is a better buy and worth the bump over the 7?
Yes and no, worth it for sure but also the seven is so well specd it's hard to skip
Yes. Just bought one.
Do you have the RAD distance of a M/L and L frame? Thanks.
Never seem to have any stock in the UK going for the giant fathom 1 in stock ,great colour ,great spec and in my opinion better than the Roscoe.
It's a long wait for us too
@@goodluckchrisclark ... How are they staying in business if theres no bike to sell? Every time I click one to buy they don't have any.
Preselling into the futur

Personally I like the Roscoe 8 the most
I'm undecided if this is a great buy of if the Roscoe 9 beats it out
Why are you riding a fuel ex doing a review on the Roscoe? Showing the trail riding on a totally different bike?🤷♂️
Just keeping the video interesting, sorry of there's confusion
2400 for a hartail is ridiculous. 3-4 years ago you could get the 8 for 1200 bucks. Trek is gouging honestly.
The bike has improved so much though
Not just Trek it's the whole industry, plus you do get better parts now too
I bought my Roscoe 8 for 1200 OTD...big jump
Completely different bike
Trek gouging? Have seen the price on Konas Honzo and the Rocky Mountain Growler??
Trek specs say Boost 148, yours says “Boost 141”???
I probably miss spoke 148 will be right
I would go for the 8, but the 9 actually seems like a better value for my type of riding (I use the suspension a lot!)
The 9 definitely has amazing suspension to it

How about the 7
@@Goldblooded46 want something that I can grow my skills on and won't have to upgrade immediately
