Thank you 😊 I think I need to invest it a nice stainless steel set of knob cutters, my old pair are a bit cheap and don't really do the job. I've just filmed an update on the crab apple where I ended up using secateurs, then the knob cutters and finishing with a knife before putting cut paste on 😊xx
I genuinely promise to try for you Jo Ann, I don't own very many pots, and most of my trees need more time to develop before moving them into a Bonsai pot situation, but maybe I can do something graphically :)
First of all great video and great knowledge of the matter. I came just for a picture of a shaped tree but stayed for the shaping. I'd rather leave the branch you removed at 28:20 because it gave the tree a bit of depth being the 90 degrees branch to the first bend of the trunk. Nevertheless good job!
@PumpkinBecki late comer here, but didn't you remove too many branches on "day one"? Let it settle and come back to it? Anyway good to "hear you think". Good camera work. 🙏 🖖 🙏 😔 🙏
Hi Rebecca, you found a very lovely tree. I agree with your choices but I am not a super crazy fan of the lowest branch, it could be removed. Anyway, nice relaxing video, I am curious to see future updates
Thank you so much 😍 I tend to agree with you about the lowest branch. It's like anything creative, sometimes you need to step away and come back with fresh eyes to see the things that need addressing...I suppose there is some justification for leaving it on for now, knowing it is just a sacrificial branch to help thicken the trunk...we'll see whether I left it on in the next update 😂 Coming soon is a new Ilex crenata, and an update on the big crab apple 😊xx

Hi Rebecca, can I ask where you buy your wire from please? Ps: great video; you're such a great orator, love your background music choices (peaceful) defo agree you should take bottom branch off, great work on this tree. I too find myself looking at my trees late into the evening!!
Hi Kate, thank you so much for your lovely comments, you've made my day ❤ I normally by a multi pack of wires from Bonsai2U in Lutterworth. I tend to by my big bags of Akadama from them too. Here's a link to the wire for you xx bonsai2u.co.uk/c/bonsai-accessories/bonsai-wire/
I HAVE BEEN EAGERLY AWAITING PRUNUS INCISA FROM YOUR CHANNEL!!!
Thank you Kush! That's so lovely to hear xx
@@PumpkinBecki I wish I went to bnq too now as I spent around £25 on a kojō-no-mai online that has a much thinner trunk
@@KushSudra I scour the discounted trees and shrubs at garden centres and Big Box/DIY stores, you just never know what you're going to find xx
Hi Rebecca, great work!! What a brilliant piece of material for such a good bargain price! Looking forward to the future of this one 😊👍🏻
Good Sunday Rebecca, it is always relaxingly meditative to watch you talk and work. 🙏🌺👏😍
Justin, you're so kind thank you x
Great fun at a bargain price! A rounded branch cutter is a great investment by the way, makes pruning a dream and prolongs the life of the shears

I thoroughly enjoyed your video.
Thank you so much Gerry, I really appreciate it xx There are lots of other Bonsai videos on my channel, just click the Bonsai playlist ❤️ xx
What a lovey tree you have ( at a fabulous price)! I enjoyed watching your thought process and the why or why you did not do something. Very helpful!
Thank you so much 😊 And thank you for taking the time to comment and hopefully subscribe too xx
I am loving your videos.
Thank you very much Erik 😊
Love the video, when is the best time to work on the roots?
Fascinating 🌱✂️
Thank you 😊 and thank you so much for taking the time to comment and hopefully subscribe too xx
Beautiful work! I loved looking at the Bonsai at RHS Wisley!
Thank you BVB 😊 I've just noticed I hadn't subscribed to you, so I've put that right 😊 Yes Peter Chan's Bonsai Walk at Wisley is lovely xx
,would you consider discussing your thoughts for the style or color of pots you’d suggest considering for use next spring
