Meanwhile this collab is stunning, best collab of 2015 so far. Their voices fit and harmonize better than I'd expected. Its fresh and unique. Would Just like to say that they with John's voice here, we can tell and feel the weight of Sam's voice, which is tremendous. Many people love his high notes but I feel that here we can hear the strength of Sam's lower register. And even with this i feel he's just scratching the surface of his lower range. Awesome quality from the 2 singers. Just stunning.

It's amazing of what a simple piece of paper with the words "I Love You and Miss you" can do for someone in a situation like that, trust me. I love this combination of beautiful voices. 2022 and it's till a hit, I love the energy in their voices
It is just how I interpret the song, but I find this version of 'Lay Me Down' to be the one that seems to have the listener go through a transition of three states of emotions- beginning with dark, empty, sadness to a between the day and night bittersweetness and then finally a lighter, happier and more hopeful for the future conclusion. Also I find John's vocals compliment this version very well by making it seem less lonely and the piano build-up with the bridge really makes one feel that the heavy state throughout the beginning of the song is lifting- like a friend holding out a hand to say "I'm with you- every step of the way. Whatever's going on we'll get through it together." However when you play both this and the single version at the same time- absolute magic!
