Absolutely thank you for this information. I just noticed this button on my 2017 Tacoma and was wondering what it was and it does come on when it’s cold out so now I know how to fix that problem.
I just found out that my 2012 Toyota Sienna has that button, after 6 years of owning it! 😂😂😂 Look for it at RUclips and you were the first video recommended to watch about the topic! Cheers, new subscriber! Thanks!
If the TPMS sensors are replaced on 2022 Tacoma (3rd Gen) with new OEM sensors, will they get automatically picked up or do they need to be programmed?
Just done the same thing on a new ( less than a week old) 2024 rav4. I noticed that the tire pressure varied from 35-39 psi. I set everything to 35psi. (Cold) and reset the TPMS
Just bought a used 2006 tacoma. I replaced the four tires with new sensors, light was blinking before and would not stop. Now it’s staying lit. Spare does not have a sensor installed. I can’t reset to turn off the light. Is the spare not having a sensor the problem?
I have a 2011 tacoma manual and I have a little dial beside my A track button and I have no idea what it is. I bought the truck used and I can’t find anything on the internet so I’m wondering if it’s something a previous owner added
Hi Steven I love your videos and have a quick question. I just bought a 2023 Tacoma SR and it has the set button but there is no tire pressure readout on the dash display. When I am on that screen all it shows is the LDA lines. Clicking up or down for additonal screens/info does nothing. The manual doesn't discuss, all it says is "if equipped." Is the dash pressure readout something only available on a higher trim or is there a way to display it on the SR?
Had my truck for 4 years now & just seen this button under the dash had no clue what it was for now I know, I know on a Camry when the light comes on it's saying a tire is low on air once the tire is given air the light goes out.
@@stevenwelchtoyota so one morning the low tire pressure light came on as it's starting to cool in AZ. I filled up the tires to correct specs. It still showed low after driving around the block. So I hit the reset button and now it reads -- on all 4. Has been for 2 days. 😢
MY TPMS flashes all the time. The pressures are all good and it does not read any of the tires. Occasionally it will work and read the tire pressures so when it works all the tire sensors are OK. So this did nothing to help in my case.
My 2017 tacoma i filled air in tire turned on the ignition held the button in till blunked three times released drove the truck 10 minutes & the thing didnt reset tried it four times it keeps showing _ _ _ marks beside each tire on the dash diagram of vehicle its not reseting after following manual instructions so looks like im going to have to do as old school just check my tire pressure with gauge from time to time, i read that dealerships may have to program new code i the system just for adding air in the tires aint happening.. not going to pay for something that is this ridiculous i will just do the old school method.
I have changed my 2014 tacoma wheels with take offs from a 2020 that have sensors that started flashing the moment I exchanged them. I hit the reset and it stayed off about 20 miles and came back on. I'll have to check the spare but can I take one of my old wheels with the sensors that never gave me any problem and lean it against each existing wheel to find out which one isn't working? and will the light go out when it's near the one not working?
@@stevenwelchtoyota After a bunch of reading I see I either need my own tool that assigns the new sensors to the computer or find someone or the dealership to do it. I'll check out prices and also see if I have a friend that has a tool for that. Thanks
TPMS is an obscenity anyway. TPMS sensors universally leak worse than "dumb" valve stems do. so everyone I know drives around with the TPMS light lit. So does everyone YOU know.
This video just saved me a trip to the dealership thank you so much I really do appreciate it.🙂
Glad it helped
@@stevenwelchtoyota I need it to reset it because I got new tires. It did work by the way thank you.
I've pressed this button many times and just now learned what it does😂 Luckily you have to hold it down

for how long?
I live in a cold climate and deal with this light all the time when it gets around zero. This is really helpful, thanks.

It's probably looking for the spare
Hi Steven I press the tire button on2023 Tacoma limited to reset the pressure and all I see is lines no numbers any suggestions
not all have numbers
If I buy new tires and wheels for the 2021 Tacoma. Do I need to buy new tpms?

It wont display it. The reset button will just be to keep your light from turning on

but a truck you may want to vary the pressure
How do you know if it’s not a bad tps sensor?
The light will stay on if there is no reading
do you do the reset with the truck running?
it has to be on
Where can you find oil life remaining on 2022 Tacoma. I.e am I at 80 percent left or where is that as other cars it’s easy to find
it foes not give a percentage. the maintenance light turns on about 200 miles before the change is due
thanks for the vidio .i saw that button in my 2022 trd sport did not know whatit did now i do
Happy to help
Is reset done while truck is running or off?
Running
My button isn’t doing anything when I hold or press it, my light stays solid no blinking or anything
Now how do I make it relearn tire positions?
the set button is for the pressures only the positions are set with a tool in service
@@stevenwelchtoyota damn. My 2012 Silverado work truck had a tire position relearn function built in. Toyota is letting us down
@@patdennis3751 some of the new toyotas have a function that will do it but I believe it's just 1 or 2
