It's a 10"chainsaw.It's a light duty saw meant to cut smaller diameter logs .When used for what it is intended for it does a good job.I have one which I paid $60.00 Canadian. If I paid $200.00,yes I would expect more.
When it quits like that, it's typically an indication the battery got too hot and trip the circuit breaker that prevents the battery from overheating. Either wait 5 minutes, or switch batteries.
I bought mine on clearance for $35 and used it to cut down a 20 plus foot mimosa tree the other day. With two batteries I easily took down the tree and cut it all up so that I could haul it away in a truck. It did use up all of the bar oil in the reservoir, though I was impressed with its performance. It was way better than the Dewalt reciprocating saw that I was going to use.
I got mine for the same price you did, 2 of them. You need more than 1 battery, and I also bought a 2-battery quick charger on sale. I've been very happy with mine. We had a big storm here in Sacramento last winter, and I'm still cutting up the remnants of a tree that fell from my neighbor's yard into my yard.
The saw is not for cutting up trees for firewood. This saw is a pruning saw for cutting up branches and saplings. I was surprised it cut those logs, but you are essentially using a butter knife to carve a turkey! Good luck with the saw...I'm going to buy one. I bought their pole saw and I was amazed at how well it works!
I know it's meant for smaller work but I like testing things to their limits. This came in super handy this fall when I did some tree trimming. So light compared to my gas saw.
It is a pruning saw ,not a log cutting saw, I use my gas chainsaw for cutting logs that size. I use the same battery with my line trimmer and carry 2 batteries to finish my trimming around my yard the trimmer will run right up to the voltage gets to a set point then it stops, to keep you from running the battery down to low.
i have the pole saw and it works quite well. i use it to cut up branches for the grill. it cuts through 6 inch oak limbs like almost nothing. maybe a little slow but for the price i can not complain
This was the much smaller design of the two which one could find. This is meant for 2-4" brush/hedge cutting. The powerhouse isn’t capable of much more than that, nor is the 20v battery. Comprehensive review though, although it is a bit biased in terms of the actual appliance of the tool
@@toptiergarage7378 I have considered purchasing one, as I am clearing out light but prevalent brush in a marshy area, and after this video of it nearly processing a full sized tree, I decided that it was more than enough. So, thank you for that, sir!
I have this saw. When I attach a fully charged battery and pull the trigger the blade makes one rotation and stops. Then nothing. If I remove the battery for one second, then reattach, it runs for a second and stops. Suggestions?
Have mine and used it regularly since 2019 cutting Douglas Fir and Alder both dry and wet with no issues. Battery is the only limiter but that can be resolved with experience. Using it for what is was intended plus its light weight (I carry mine under one arm like a pet) and proper maintenance make it always my first choice because it always gets the job done.
Technically all the issues you mentioned are actually due to battery capacity amp hours. And hyper tough 20v is actually an 18v cell, you can find better batteries that would fit it that would last longer.
Wait till you accidentally snag something that stops the chain quickly. The worm drive on the motor will break off the teeth on the drive gear for the chain because it doesn't have a clutch on it .
Any questions on the saw just drop them in the comments below!

I have this chain saw and I absolutely love it. I also have Stihl chain saws, a 310 and 250. I would recommend it.
Why dont you like the charger? Its small ,doesnt take up much space and WORKS.

I have used this saw to cut logs up to the maximum of the bar limit.

Like ppl said it’s light to prune small branches not logs I’m actually impressed for $50
perfect little rig to clear a small path or shooting lane for deer hunting with a couple of batteries with ya

This is perfect for basic pruning. Just wanted to test its true ability and it did fairly well. Perfect saw for the average homeowner.

Try and take the bar and chain off to see if it still does it. If it runs fine the chain might be pinched in the bar somewhere overloading the motor.

That is why you carry an extra battery. LOL

I cut 4 logs maybe 10 inches before it died. I was going to take this camping... But now I'm considering taking this and a solar panel lol
