I'd love your take on basic supplies eg museli bars, fruit bars, crackers, cocktail franks etc that all jumped 20% in price during the Christmas 'sale' season. I literally had a tantrum leaving the store because of this. Lowering prices on 'essentials'then wacking it up in other areas is deplorable, especially with the inquest going on. I don't buy supermarket meat because where I am in Adelaide it just doesn't a) get marked down and b) Is often off and I physically can't keep going back for a refund. Our local Coles is actually disgusting, dirty loud and selling meat with a use by of that day at 20%off only. Also, it used to be a thing that it couldn't be sold day of, as thst was earmarked for foodbank donations. Loved this vlog
I'm starting to get really deflated to be honest , I think I said to you on insta that I'm getting peeved but the more I think about it the more I'm like 'sigh ...' I'm already pretty basic with only buying homebrand and even some of that is starting to get beyond $$$. We already eat basic too and I get critised a LOT for it so trying to help others with tips and tricks is just getting thrown in my face. Museli bars were a staple at $2 then $2.50 and now $3 - it's still cheaper to buy homebrand (8 i n a box) compared with brand (6 in a box even on sale for $2.75). I've tried to make my own it's just a 'no' LOL. I too noticed a few prices dropped only to go up again and I honestly thought too with the enquiry right now they would be more aware but I guess they don't care. They figure what's done is done and that's what they are being punished about not what's happening now. It's why I do markdowns as much as possible and meal plan around that. As far as on the day selling goes I am confused with some of it to be honest. I had a veggie bag marked down to 50c and it was day of and the computer said it can't be sold I said I just saw him put a sticker on it. I'm looking at how I can title a video to share realistic tips and tricks with how we save.
I love my Coles markdown. Guaranteed almost every night between 6.30-7pm they do a final markdown of up to 90% :D so every time I finish work at 6pm, I pick up Maddy and then we go straight to Coles! Every store is definitely different though!
Hi Kelly! Would u have any influence with canned food makers in Australia e.g. Campbell's who still don't print either a use by date or best before date on their tinned food. If I rang them I'm sure they'd fob me off. Unfortunately I just threw out approx 100 cans of food across 2 weeks due to the no date issue 😢

Great tip about the chicken in the deli being cheaper in bulk! I did not know this
There is a little sign in ours and I’ve seen it at two others so check it out if it’s in yours.
@ I will have a look! Hopefully it’s here too
Don’t forget people with low vision or blindness this is a massive benefit to them and their carers
Yes! Thanks for sharing that absolutely I try to be devils advocate with tips and make sure everyone was benefiting

Oh no that’s a huge waste of money! It’s so annoying they don’t have dates on! I bet if you emailed them they would reply
@@FrugalFunMum Thanks & I'll try that. Should be illegal to send food out without dates
