    I learned that the hard way. I rode sooooo hard for someone, and after 20 years, yes it took me that long. I always wanted to believe he was the exception to the rule, and he was not like the other addicts, and I learned the hard way that no matter what I do or say, it is an inside job on his part. He just didn't want it, and he may never want it.

      I didn’t, really. One of your co-workers in another video did a good job of explaining one reason - dealing with the kids AND their parents made the job a lot tougher. Also, there’s a lot of crossover with child welfare with the client, sometimes with the client themselves getting their own kids(!) taken away. All around just an emotionally draining experience...and that only scratches the surface. Could talk all day about it to be honest lol. Thanks for asking, and for the videos!

    Try 350 cases a month. Including going to court, teaching DUI school and getting defendants into long-term or short term treatments. No the pay isn't enough. It's a joke. It's a slap in the face for the hard work put towards a Criminal Justice Degree. (BS.) However, I am glad it is enough for you. But I see you have a ring and that means you have two incomes coming in which makes a huge difference. The only PO job that pays decent is Federal.

    Hi! I am currently looking at applying for PO in Texas and your videos have been very helpful! I was feeling pretty discouraged by the reviews online so it's nice to see someone with a positive view of the career field. I was wondering about how many hours are worked on average throughout the week? I was hoping for a roughly M-F 9-5 type job so I have time for my family and wasn't sure if this is what I am looking for. I hope you are doing well and thanks for the informative videos!

How would/did you handle a situation in which a probationer becomes physically threatening? Q3. What methods do you use to track the probationers' progress? Q4. How do you establish a relationship of trust with probationers? Q5. Are juvenile cases better to deal with than adult criminal cases?

    • @raminrouchi202

      All we are trying to do is get in and get out and not get caught with dope in our system. 99 percent of us are non violent drug offenders. all the really serious folks are going to be supervised by someone that can handle it. There is no real way to track the progress of the probationer. the only solid way is maintaining employment and being a functional member of society but the problem with that is alot of functional and even very high functioning people do use drugs...especially weed. You're job is to lock that person up and completely ruin any progress they have achieved because that's how stupid the system is. Also the only people that are truly going to trust you are the stupid ones. no offense ..but when the smoke clears we are on opposite sides of things. Your job ...no matter what anyone tells you is to arrest people ....and you will have a quota. it's not about making lives better and infact it is your duty to ruin someone's life if need be to hold up a false and unrealistic standard. It is your job to back up your co workers when they break the law. If you attempt to do the right thing you will be black listed. All we are going to do is try our best to tell you exactly what you want to hear

    Great video! The subject of bribes (and other types of corruption) is very important to talk about. Bribes dont always come in the form of money, it can be other forms of positive reinforcement that ultimately manipulate your decision-making process. Accepting ANY type of gift from an inmate immediately gives him leverage over you because he can lie and say that you accepted it for a favor. The inmate is never your friend, don't accept anything from him.

    • @GanjikaAranyaka
      @GanjikaAranyaka 3 года назад

      If an inmate tries to give you anything, refuse it and quietly make note of his bribery attempt so you can keep it in our documentation records. Those f*ckers are crafty so when they try to lie about you, pull out the document from your records like "Not today, inmate! "
