you'd think that phrase would be overplayed by now, but its relevance has not waned a single bit
I actually love this format. I honestly think, Rarran, if you ever pivoted away from card games, trying a diverse array of games like this might be the way to do that! There are SO MANY games people are itching for a fresh take or content on.

For some hearthstone creators the thing i watch them for is because of interesting decks or because they're good at the game, Rarran is 100% more fun to watch than the actual game and it doesn't matter what game he plays in my eyes because of that

i love how universal the experience of "man this is easy ppl were really overselling the RNG in this game" and then getting absolutely demolished by the hag is for darkest dungeon enjoyers

to be fair he brought a terrible lineup for dealing with the hag
For me it was the Prophet, granted I did not do the Hag yet. But I did complete the Necromancer, Swine Prince, Cannon, formless flesh and siren. All the first time, and I thought “man I kinda get their shticks, no deaths yet, and I know these are their first encounters and I’m sure their next battles will be more unforgiving, but it’s not that bad!”
Then the prophet started fucking cosplaying [Wonder of U], unable to touch him cuz HE KEPT DODGING while he was RAINING DISASTERS
Terrible skills and not a good lineup. Only 2 heroes can damage the Hag and one of them is PD who is one of the worst heroes to deal with Hag because of resist, so because of that he needed to deal with Hag shenanigans and rng. Overconfidence is not a killer, when supported by knowledge

Real talk though it was amazing seeing this vid. Not only for the production value but also just for seeing someone experience this gem of an indie game. I hope you return to this game and check out the colors of madness and crimson court dlcs. The ladder of which is especially cool if you want a different take on vampires

I've put over 300 hundred hours into this game, and watch so much of your stuff. To see you make a video on this brought such a smile to my face. Also, you were straight COOKING with the trinkets in that last fight my man!
Both DD1 and DD2 are among my favorite games of all time. They both play so different and both are amazing.
I do like that 2 was not a replacement but an alternative way to play DD. If they do a 3 I’d like to see 1s town management style expanded on.

Im so very glad you tried out this game, it is a personal favourite of mine. I hope we do see a continuation beyond level 3 at some point, would be great to see David decimate the final boss.
The Crimson Court is also a fantastic DLC to this, however, wouldn't recommend until you've at least played the base game a little while first.
Oh boy Crimson Court, now that's the actual nightmare, these maps are absolutely relentless even for the most seasonned team comps.

I really enjoy DD, but I actually prefer Darkest Dungeon 2. It's more Roguelike, you get a better connection with your heroes, and the art/animations are even better. Plenty of people prefer the 1st, and I can understand why, but I do hope you give it a 10 hour chance as well!
Mainly, there's no bullshit dodge spam. Like your whole enemy team just somehow dodge all of your attack for 8 turns

I usually never like a video unless its a song (as I use my likes as a massive playlist with a few exceptions this being one of them) but this intro was amazing, love the fact that you took a risk in regards of not knowing how much traction the video would get yet you still slapped on a intro that is fitting with the game.
Good sh*t dude, I hope you keep this stuff up as HS watchers might give your other videos a try and remain due to such gimmicks could help you out with branching out to other games like you've been trying!

This is a very weird hearthstone expansion announcement. I hope they introduce new weapons in this format for stuff like Rune forge golem in Arena!
EDIT: My thoughts on the new stress keyword: weird. Being out of 200 with a luck dependent payoff at 100 (having characters be able to land the virtuous trait making them stronger) makes stress builds pretty underwhelming. Although, maybe self-stress archetypes to help land on these virtuous rolls could be a cool concept that could be introduced from this expansion. Reaching 200 stress sets minions and heroes hp to 1 which appears to be good for classes like mage and DH who can easily dispatch of 1 health characters but the major counterweight of being able to heal stress undoes the opponents efforts in stressing out characters, making the mechanic feel redundant within games.
Trinkets seem like b-tech treasures and the gold update they're bringing feels way too expensive. More antiquarian related cards are probs needed to help improve gold gain.
NICE intro though, it feels very similiar to another games artstyle. Shame it's not hearthstone. /s (and /j)

you can get a antidote vial sometimes from the loot before the combat room to open it.
My bad, you get a skeleton key from the fight, i was mixing up regular chests with this one.
@@waflleking Unlocked chest has no item which interacts with it. You might be misremembering it with a different one.

No, it doesn't... you can highroll loot or unlock it with a key if lucky to drop.

I just want to share this DD2 journey a bit.
Confession path: Denial
Vestal, PD, Crusader, HWM
My dismas has the breacher and vicious quirk. Dismass isn't built like a tank but I fed him at every stop of the journey. Rogue path cuz Rank 1 +25%dmg and Point Blank Shot gives repost token.
Killed the dreaming general as my 1st location. Yes, you read that right. The first node I visited was the Lair, it was a throwaway game at first. Won with by a surprising margin.
Managed to get a tainted trinket that gives +100% dmg but -30%dmg after the first round until end of combat.
Fumble around the dreaming general trophy, somehow didn't die from not understanding how it functions since my HWM is rank 2 for a short while (yes, despite the breacher quirk).
Turned my HWM into a killing machine.
Rogue pathway: +25% dmg on 1st rank
Vicious: +10%dmg,
breacher +2 strength token on start
Trinket +100% dmg for first round, then 70% afterwards.
I was able to wipe the floor with most encounters. Like when I encountered 2 pit masters (Large enemies, 2 slot wide). First shot, crit, he's on deaths door, repost finished him off. The other 3 hurled their best at the other one for round 1. He died at the end of round 2. Could take on Deacons like they're nothing.
The biggest annoyance at the time was the 1st rank enemy spawning with armour/dodge tokens. Like the cultist with swords for hands.
Little does rarran know, but crusader is used more as a secondary support stress healing with the occasional stun
Crusader works fine as both support and DPS I find.

The major thing that they never tell you about this game is that the stress damage is real. Also, word to the wise, - and I won't do the over confidence meme here - dodge and accuracy are king in high level dungeons. Seeing a minion crumble to a timely crit is amazing but seeing one of them miss their ulti because your guy dodged is almost better.

The one game that actually makes me rage, it's so annoying yet amazing
An 'autobattler' in looks, but it's unfair to call it that, you actually get to pick what to do in a battle. It's more like a dungeon crawler with turn-based RPG battles.
Good to see this video got here, look forward to potentially seeing more, if no newer game is more imperative at some point.
