After re-watching this and seeing how his game has translated in La Liga, I'm thinking his ceiling is higher than I first assumed. Kid looks like the real deal out there so far
Pretty excited to see what he can do in La Liga. A balanced technical player is certainly needed in that 6 role even with Adams… depth and competition should be welcomed and he offers something Adams does not.
He's got a great sense of positioning and his tight turn radius allows him to dribble out of trouble even when the midfield is crowded. I fear he probably lacks the athleticism to play at the international level though.
he's better on the ball then Adams but Adams is better defensively and stronger too . Adams is limited on the ball but I'd rather feel better with him against teams like Uruguay or Argentina and Brazil then with Johnny
I've never seen anything that impressed me from Cardoso. He is a perhaps slightly taller Aiden Morris. Similar scrappy slightly clumsy play style, athleticism and level of technical ability. He's not done anything in the US kit, and he's managed to convince me that the level of the Brasileiro isn't that much higher than MLS.
You just don't know ball at this point. Lol Johnny is 6'1 Morris is 5'9/5'10 depending on where you look. Johnny only has 9 caps and only really got an extended look in the last camp he was in where he looked great. Lastly, MLS would get dogged on the knock outs of copa libertadores. Johnny turned his performances there into a la Liga move. Sooooo.
@@lukehart8104 I mean I've watched games from both leagues, and I've watched players come from the Brasileiro to MLS. And generally, I don't see the gap there the way there is a gap between MLS and the Big 5, or the super teams like Porto or Ajax or even Young Boys. Postulating a large gap is weird given that the MLS is not that far behind Brasileiro in terms of market value of the players or salaries of the players outside the top 5 or 6 teams in the league. And honestly, I think given my experience with how these arguments go, people don't actually judge leagues. They just say something like "Palmeiras would beat any MLS team nine days in ten.", something I wouldn't dispute.

He’s definitely better with the ball than Adams.
Well yeah that’s not really what Adams is known for he’s more known for as a destroyer or getting the “dirty work” done as as I heard someone mention

Didn’t really see a difference in his range of passing though
@@chriscampbell3458 No but definitely more incisive and riskier rather than safe.

If you dont realize the difference in level between the Brasileiro vs MLS youre just kind of delusional.
