Hey guys .... got my hands on a 1962 Chevy 2 Acadian hood .... Question : I'm wondering what would be best method to restore the "under hood" portion, it has rust on it but no perforations. The top of the hood is like new. Thanks !
9" ford with ladder bar/air ride suspension, yes mini tubbed and narrowed, dont recall the width though? Back wheels are 18x9 1/2" wide with 3 1/2" backspacing. Thanks for the compliments. -Gary
They were domed, it was about 10:5.1 or so compression. They were full floating pistons, roller cam, rockers, etc., 850 demon carb, dual plane intake, msd ignition. It does rev really quick actually. Its hard to say about your combo, it would likely rev quick with similar components... but theres never any that always work the same.
What type of piston you have flat top or done I just like the way it revs so quick . Are you running pump gas I want the same set up . Do you think it would rev that quick with compression 9:5:1 -10:1 with xr288hr
you got a 3000 stall and a big cam in there with 3.23 gears ? you need more gear don't you ? good looking car ..my uncle had one of these. .sharps cars.
+james myers Thanks. Yes it was a low gear, I had a high gear for awhile and switched to a lower gear so i could cruise the highway more with it. went on several long trips and never had any issues with the low gear and high stall.
Gary Alumbaugh cool..i didn't think it would run right like that. Im still learning though. I have 4.30s in my duster..its pretty fun but i may lower my gears eventually to like 3.90s or 3.55s .
All right, I guess I saw what I wanted to see. It's not my car, I was just explaining to you why he would set the idle so low. You're the only one saying negative shit about this bad ass car.
Adam Lader sent me this video. I would kill to have that car. I currently own a '12 Mustang GT that runs mid 10's, but there is nothing like old school muscle.
Hey Gary my names Joey. I just had to say WOW! I love your nova! I can say this is how I envision mine on the outside. It is perfect. I just bought a 62 nova shell and am starting from the ground up. I saw your details and just wanna know what the total cost was if that is you feel comfortable saying it. And also what parts would you recommend? Again Love the car and any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks again.
Have a few questions if you dont mind. 1. What rear-end are you running and has it been narrowed any? 2. Back Spacing on the rear wheels Beautiful Car-.
Actually the whole time i was on the gas letting on and off it was spinning the tires lol. But no, it wont hardly do a burn out. all show and no go, just an rv cam with the choke on to sound good.
i like how it smokes when you rev it up to float your valves haha oh yeh and your the best 3 point turner in the country by far lol nice car tho, just need someone with hair on his balls behind the wheel
