Hello Matt, Awesome videos! Would it be possible to show what the transmit bandwidth is on these radios? I use rack gear for some mid-fi transmit. Clean audio is the way to go! Thank you
I agree. I did not know these radios put out that much power. I used to run a 2510 with a palomar 4 power level amp that would do 375 dead key on setting 3 and audio more than 500. (was concerned to run it higher) THis little radio is a MONSTER ha ha. My wiring was good. He is correct. I had a welding cable run to behind the pickup truck seat to run the 10-11-12 meter amplifier and the 160 watt 2 meter amp. Had a ground cable run also to beef up the grounds. You cannot expect the steel in the car or truck to take that kind of power through high resistance spot welds. This is a good video.
@@TheRadioGarage Hahaha you better not put that evil on me Ricky Bobby 🤣🤣. You are right though ! I gave up and quit spending money on cb’s for SSB and bought a couple used HF Rigs But this RCI is a powerhouse in AM and he’s gonna love it . He really is a close friend of mine . We talk quite often He is so excited about winning and I’m proud for him !!
@@stonefacedgrasshopper2200 Hahaha ,, he might for a while Give me a just a few more weeks to get some things lined out and the big heater is coming online 😎
Would be nice to havd ond thdm that dong have the hi powr amp just 50 watts ssb 20 watts AM/FM only around $229 . Thd hi power doesnt transmit to long in car with engine off . Sweet looking radio . Maybe ranger will ipsate the drift.
I wasn't a fan of this style when it first came out, but definitely easier to look clean with the that face instead of chrome. You sure made her sing !
How is the eats on it. I have a striker And today, when I was hooking up the ranger I notice a striker. What 5 pounds of skip noise and I didn't have nothing on the RC.I.Ranger
I have one of those radios and managed to open up to frequencies in the 26 mhz . Still can't find information to unlock the 27 MHz. Seems the information I get from everyone on line isn't correct.
@@TheRadioGarage - What number mosfets are they running? I assume those are VHF mosfets for 100 or 200 mhz? The transistors(mosfets) are really good in recent years.
@@TheRadioGarage - Question... Where does the receiver of these Rangers compare to something like an icom 706 ? Have you ever tested one to compare on 11 meters to these rangers and some their variants? Appreciate hearing your opinion. I have an HR2510 and its older sibling Lincoln as well as some other vintage stuff.
What shit are these people running ?? A standard power supply runs 13.8 v DC Regulated .??? In my opinion None of the frequency drift monkeys ,hold a candle to a Anytone AT5555NII .. Prove me wrong..
Hey Matt you need to put one more like this as part of an other raffle..... looks like a mean radio and happy for Brad!!!

I didn't like the original chrome ones either
Does this mean that this cb radio outputs more than 0.7KW of power in SSB? Or were you in the mW range? Thanks for the video!
Yes, that radio is doing fine on that antenna dummy load. “No problem there truck driver!”, Now get out your credit card.😂
When you bought your radio, you bought my BIG MOUTH. 10-4!! DING DONG
I have a question about this radio:
Converted, will this radio cover the entire 10-, 11- and 12-meter bands.
Thank you and bless.

OK, slightly different topic but same company did Ranger at one time make a 6 m mobile
I got a Longhorn N6 doing 800 watts
Is the amp section transistors or mosfets?
8 mosfets

im betting that your radio would match my fathers moonraker 6 that i have on my tower, i use his browning mkiv, i
Does it have a built in fan?
Yes
@TheRadioGarage
Pretty cool for a package radio. That's the biggest problem with radios here in Southern Arizona. With no fan they get crazy hot.
What is the difference between the 69ffb4 and the b6
