    To play the devil's advocate here, the opponent is never under any obligation to concede. We may think it's courteous or sportsmanlike, but particularly in the case of MTGO leagues and the like, if I'm not mistaken there are prizes to be won and you probably shouldn't expect someone to be sportsmanlike when you're not even a face in front of them. I would say that there are also people who despise infinite win condition decks and will often make you go through the motions to "prove" your victory, even if solely out of spite.

      You are 100% correct and I would actually expect this behaviour in a tournament setting. If your opponent cant complete the combo to win the match in time then that is there problem. BUT this was just a one off game not worth any points so it is generally considered courteous to concede.
      This is also why I enjoy playing face to face.
      Thanks for taking up the other side of the argument. Good to see and talk about both sides.

      of note, the majority of kci eggs decks of emrakul as a win con so his not conceding is completely valid.

    I'm actually surprised he conceded in that last game and I wasn't at all surprised he didn't in the first game. Krak clan usually plays emrakul. milling him does nothing

    Your video is amazing. I love that you uploaded it with all the flaws. I hate mtgo because I find it way to easy to miss click but that's me.
    I also love your commentary and little things like spreading up the video makes your quality great. I love ALL of your videos even the alter art ones. Your commentary of the card is really unique. Wedge from the mana source has an alter art video series but even though yours shows one card, I like it more. It shows the process and I learn about the card.
    In short. I love your videos and subbed super quickly

      Thanks for the support! I upload the videos with the mistakes because it's how we all learn. If I was a %100 perfect player I would be playing professional magic :)
      Glad you like the Alter videos. I'm thinking of doing a couple more soon. I have a couple cards I want to talk about.

    @giantmonstergames you are the reason modo players dont concede to infinite combos. I actually was so happy when you got banefired for 21, it felt so good!

      You're welcome... I think? I would honestly recommend NOT playing infinite combos on MTGO. It was very un-fun for me. BUT the paper version of this deck is quite fun. I sleeved this one up and took it out to my FNM modern and had a blast.

    That first game was rough! MTGO has a bit of a learning curve and it's easy to screw up when you're not used its behavior.

      +Charles jones I'm normally not so cringe worthy. I feel it's good to show my good and bad sides. I don't always play correctly but I acknowledge it and try to learn from it. Hopefully my mistakes are learning experiences for my viewers too.

      That's my feelings exactly. BUT in this video I make a painfully large amount of them.

    Find a way to convert mill into damage. Are there any black or blue cards that deal damage whenever a creature dies or whenever a creature is played? Alternatively, if you have a card that can return cards from the graveyard when one dies, perilous myr can be your win condition.

    • @GiantMonsterGames
      @GiantMonsterGames  8 лет назад

      There definitely is. Falconwrath Noble is in the deck just for this reason.

    • @VirtuesOfSin
      @VirtuesOfSin 8 лет назад

      Lol, I was meaning - if you want to play this on mtg online, you'll need to convert it into hp damage. Otherwise, people will just not forfeit because of time limit.

    It's hard to watch the number of mechanical errors in this video - I recommend that you focus on getting more fluid with those details, as a content creator.
    For the future, also: if you right click on an ability, you can set up auto-yields that help speed this kind of thing up!

      I agree. I've gotten better since I made this video. I found that MTGO has a bit of a learning curve and I was still learning how to use it when i made this video. Thanks for the feedback.

    Game 1, turn 1 why didn't you play choked estuary?

  • @lexmtaylor
    @lexmtaylor 8 лет назад

    Just to help you when you play against Eggs, which isn't that popular, but Dredge would be the same thing... Milling them is helping their strategy. So getting down an early Altar of the Brood isn't a good idea. You don't want to put that down till you are pretty sure you are going off. So getting one or two less mills before you are going off is actually a great play, if they find a way to interrupt you but you put 3/4 of his deck into his graveyard they can win from board states that seem so far behind.
    If you like this you may prefer the Mill combo with does damage with Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank: www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/deck-creation-modern/221710-modern-duskmantle-mindcrank-combo

      Thanks for the advice. This was the first time I've played against Eggs, online or in person. It caught me by surprise because I didn't know the win con of the deck only that it played a TON of cheap artifacts.

    If I was the opponent playing eggs here. I would never have conceded against a player that messes up this much and does so many sloppy plays.
    I would gamble on winning based on the Timer or on the extra turns you actually gave him. Absolutely dumb to concede in that spot. Never play a deck and rely on enemy conceding.
    I have myself played through my combo decks and met people who don't concede. they want me to play through my combo, and they pay really close attention to my sequencing to call me out on any missplays or missed triggers. to make me loose the game based on mistake.
    Of course that's not friendly, or nice to do. but in a competitive situation many do whatever they can to win. and winning on your mistakes or run out of time is a legal way to win. In real life it's more normal to scoop the first time you see the combo, but let them play through it the 2nd time.

      throughout the video and a here you keep saying it as if he didnt understand your loop. its quite possible that he did and that he had a titan in the deck(or he drew it and thus was bluffing the titan.) i tottaly get being annoyed against a player not conceding to an actual 100% set kill but uh yours wasn't set in stone at all. 1-2x emrakul is common for that deck.
