Quick edit: this is just theory, my own personal spin on this XD it's not actuality! But I'm glad people like this!
Okay i saw a comment questioning the individual backstories of the three characters (I can't find it) and i got a little something.
Mark is a really serious character with intense trust issues for some strange reason, Dodger is seemingly insane while having an odd compassionate side to her, and Enis is completely naive but for a vampire it's odd considering how old he'd be.
For Mark: He once had a sibling, who he had stuck with since this whole outbreak of monsters started. Possibly a younger sister. They were really close for a long time with his sister being incredibly naive (like Enis). One day a group of other humans had falsely lulled them into a sense of security. They taught the two had to fight. One day during a fight with some monster's they had pushed Mark's sister into the fray and evidently got her killed. When questioned about it, the group states they had no intention of letting them live and would only use them for entertainment and bait. Quickly after, Mark left the group constantly questioning everyone around him, afraid that they may be the same way. Soon enough he met David and Dodger. At first he didn't trust the two, but slowly came to be used to the two entities around him.
For Dodger: During the break out she had lost her whole family, whether they ran away or were eventually killed while scouting will forever be unknown to her. She would walk the streets aimlessly, watching with un-moving eyes as the people around her would be slaughtered. after a run in with a werewolf, did she meet David. The two quickly got along and began hunting together. But as time went on, Dodger had noticed how...depressed David was getting, going through the constant motions of surviving. Day-by-day she would come up with something new to cheer him up till it eventually stuck with her and became her personality. She's seemingly insane, but in reality she just doesn't want people to feel living is worthless. When she and David met Mark, she immediately worked to cheering him up as well, getting attached to him after learning about his sister. After finding out David never intentionally planned to live (After seeing his multiple attempts to get bit by a hell-hound) did she let him get bit. Then they met Enis.
For Enis: He's a devilishly handsome sparkling vampire, that has been stuck in one place for years. A lot of monsters left him alone for his cheerful demeanor, believing his ways would eventually lead them to their deaths. No one had ever taught him how to be mature, and those stinky old books only had spells in them. He did make some friends, but they hardly ever visited and Enis was too scared to leave the house on his own. Then he met Mark and Dodger, two odd humans who wanted to save their friend. In hopes they wouldn't kill him, did he try to help them only to ultimately fail in the end. He grew attached and wanted to stay with them, as they were his first friends who didn't exactly care about how he acted. (they were a little annoyed sometimes but they didn't care)
And yeah, small thing. I honestly have no idea why i did this :/
