@@RickTroutnerI have p0440 and p0446 I changed the pcv valve purge valve and over full check valve cleared p0442 and p0171 should I change the canister
I got a 2000 Lexus es300 throwing the same codes… I’ve been driving w a cold air intake in for about a month and a half… check engine just came on today.
In addition to the bolts, There is a circular plastic mount for the canister that I don't know how to take off. It seems like I'm only able to pull it out with brute force, but I'm afraid I may break it doing that. Do you have any ideas?
You are correct it's a plastic clip for the hoses that clips into the body of the car. I broke mine when I took the old one out. Doesn't matter if you're replacing it with a new one. If you're reusing it I'd just glue it back on.
thank you for your reply! i used a flathead and got it out in tact, but didn't need to like you said because i got a new canister anyway. @@RickTroutner
@@AtomicFirecracker116 did that, too. I see some busted hoses in front, so I’m going to change them when the weather allows. Will get back to you with updates.
Thank you for posting this. Appreciate it!! That's the exact canister for the 1999 Camry CE. I will have to do the same replacement procedure soon.
Такая канистра нет у нас в Казахстане. С Америки слишком дорого. Можно ли реставрировать его?
Thanks for the video, I have EVAP issues (2 codess) on mine, I'll try changing the canister
If you have a P0442 or P0440 I'd check if you have a leak somewhere else

Where did you route the evap vent line into when you put the cold air intake?
@@RickTroutner from pipe, straight to the valve. I just got the codes read says it’s the “vapor canister”
@@pkgotza Which code exactly?
I just got mind thanks for the video

I have the same damn problem. Changed the canister, but the problem persists.I'm at my wits end.
Have you changed your fuel cap?

@@tomdo4999was it the hoses?
I have the same code did it fix it for good
Yes it did
Did it dramatically improve fuel efficiency?
No, just removed the CEL. Perhaps it runs better but that may just be a placebo
