These “cities” are literally just Cincinnati Ohio metro cities. That’s why there is so much wealth there. Lexington, Louisville, Bardstown, and BowlingGreen should’ve been at least considered.

If you're going to live in Kentucky, my advice is to get a hundred rural acres about an hour out from any one of those cities for the same money and get the natural, higher quality of life that no cities anywhere can offer.

    • @jeladsnikpoh1289
      @jeladsnikpoh1289 3 года назад +3

I did just that, except only 1-2 beautiful acres for next to nothing$- CASH buy, baby!Everything I've ever dreamed of- at 1/20 the cost of similar property where I came from. I'm a 1/2 hour from Elizabethtown (everything I need), 1 hour from Louisville. Close enough to 'whatever', far enough away to experience stunning beauty in my back yard and peaceful distance from neighbors. Fantastic motorcycle roads too! It doesn't get better than this- bang for your buck and freedom.

I wish I would'be bought land when I was younger. There used to be prime land at least 25 minutes or so south of louisville for less than $1000 an acre. I can't afford it now

All the cities are basically in the Golden Triangle between Louisville, Cincinnati and Lexington. You left out Simpsonville KY, 3.8% unemployment, $61,103 average income, $211,638 average home price, commute time to Louisville ~20 minutes, low crime, the surrounding area is all basically beautifully maintained Saddlebred horse farms (fancy show horses). Oh, yeah they also have a Culver's (about as good as fast food gets).

Main factor in judging was the crime rate , that’s why most cities are excluded , I will rate an Eastern Kentucky city called Ashland as a bad place to live , a lot of drug addicts , high unemployment rate , outdated services , However I met the nicest people there who are kind and friendly but also met the haters ignorant crowd .
I would rate Lexington , in my opinion , a great city to live in Kentucky .

I don't know where in the crap you got your information, but those are not the best places in the state. Bowling Green was rated best city to live in. My home--is home to Western Kentucky University, Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center, the Kentucky Symphony, the Bowling Green Hot Rods minor league baseball team, the Bowling Green Bandits ABA professional basketball team, and much more. Murray was voted best city to retire in. It is next to Land Between the Lakes National River Recreation Area. Kentucky Lake has some of the best fishing in the world. Paducah, Henderson and Owensboro are highly thought of. Lexington is the horse racing capital of the world and home of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Smaller towns in the middle of the state all are well thought of and have good reputations And while a lot of eastern Kentucky has poverty and drug abuse problems, a lot of nice towns are there. You picked a cluster of towns that are literally bedroom communities of Cincinnati. While it has its faults, Louisville is the largest city, with many things such as the Louisville Slugger Museum and Churchill Downs, University of Louisville Cardinals, etc. And FYI, Jeffersontown is a suburb of Louisville, which is a million plus metro area. Bardstown has a wonderful arts and crafts district. It is home to My Old Kentucky Home State Park, as in Stephen Foster. Frankfort is a very historical town, and the grave site of Daniel Boone. I'm sure I'm leaving out a bunch of really nice cities. Get your head out of your backside and re-evaluate Kentucky. It's obvious that you know very little about it. MANY famous actors and musicians are from Kentucky.

The best place to live in Ky in my opinion is Bowling Green or Lexington areas. If you want City life then maybe Louisville is your thing. Honorable mentions would be Owensboro, Elizabethtown and Bardstown. Georgetown and Richmond are really growing as well so something must be worth living there for as well.

Every type of specialist you can think of, all or most of them owned or controlled by St Elizabeth. Everybody that lives there is a doctor or works for a doctor. The town is wealthy from health insurance money. I'm not saying anything negative about the place, but you only go there if you are sick.

Schools are highly funded there like Anderson County High School, Anderson County Middle School and Emma B. Ward Elementary. (The top there most liked schools) most people are employed and crime is very low.
If you had to get something on your car fixed, I bet Advanced Auto Parts people in Lawrenceburg will do just as soon as you come in.

Somebody in Northern Kentucky clearly made this video. I live in Highland Heights and let me tell you, the schools in Campbell county are falsely highly ranked. They are based on botched statistics where Campbell county schools purposely does not correctly report incidents and they find ways to illegally prep kids for state testing. I can't deny the economy is great here because you can take advantage of Ohio's economy while living in Kentucky but that's about it. The worst of the heroin epidemic is right here. Ft Thomas probably is all around the best place to live a modern American lifestyle maybe in all of America if the rat race is for you and is the only one of these that belongs on this list. I'm moving out of here now but not back to the struggles of Appalachia where I grew up. Looking for a medium ground somewhere around but not in Lexington. Here in Northern Kentucky corruption in politics and school systems is as bad as it was in the 80s in Eastern Kentucky but the difference is in Eastern Kentucky everybody knew it and here these folks are wolves in sheep's clothing

If you like nature then the Morehead area is number one. The Daniel Boone National Forest, Cave Run Lake, Locege Rock, Carrington Rock, The Sheltowee Trace, Red River Gorge, etc.. And a top tier (US News and World Report) University, MSU...GO Eagles!!!! MSU is the reason that KY is the only state in America with it's own satellite in space. Yes, Morehead State's Space Science Department built it and control it. In fact, they create and build many satellites for NASA. Even the highly acclaimed MIT can't make that claim.
And Ashland has an excellent school system as well. Their middle school academic team placed second in America in the annual academic competition in Washington DC. With graduates like Les Johnson (Former Director of Propulsion and current Deputy Director of Advanced Concepts at NASA) and Danny Miller (Head of Cardiology at the Mayo Clinic), just to name a couple.
And, no, Ashland is not a place to stay but an excellent place to give your kids an awesome education. They can go anywhere and excel.
When I was growing up Ashland was the third biggest city in KY. Today it is 19th. But no city in KY can claim the academic achievements of its intellectual sons and daughters.
I was an average student at Ashland and graduated in the middle of my class but I was one of the youngest General Managers in the history of the Kmart Corporation. I got my first store as a GM in Atlanta at the age of 28. And today I have a thriving business, I own a 200 acre farm, an apartment complex, a four bed three bath home, three IRA accounts and plenty of cash. And everything I own is PAID OFF. I am debt free. Pretty good for a kid that was born in a two room shack in WV and raised in Eastern KY.
And I attribute my success to my excellent education.
Oh, and my sister was a Professor at Marshall. She completed her doctorate degree at Ohio University in Athens with a four point average having never made below an A in any college course.
