I'm pleased to present my contribution to the latest Ponies@Dawn album. I really liked how this song came together and I think it reflects the title of the album fairly well. For the first time I also tried making an actual moving animation in After Effects, nothing too amazing but better than a still image (or blackness like how some of my older songs ended up :p ). The P@D assets proved useful on that front. More to come!
    LYRICS:
I don't feel silent any more
I know where I'm supposed to be
    crushed my enemies long ago
the last one left to go was me
but you were cold enough to burn
I kept my feelings out of view
you held my head against the flame
and made me give my crown to you
lead of spirit but lucky all the same
sweet taste of empires crumbling in the gloom
napkin men with metal hearts surround us
drawing nearer, bodies fill the room
ah, talking heads parade their faces every day
showing us the way to think and feel
helping us to understand the rich man's point of view
they said it on the news and now it's real

This song really is gold. I mean, its so eerie , sweet, sad, and toutching, while avoiding being cheesy. This really stands out from any brony music I've heard, as well as most of Replacers own music, through its unique atmosphere. Each note, tone and instrument feels chosen, careful, and, from a recording standpoint, it is extremely crisp.

you know, now that i've had a lot more time to reflect on this song, one of the things i really dig is the long instrumental breaks before, between, and after both verses. it really helps the pacing of the song, and i think it creates this lovely forlorn atmosphere that gives you a chance to really soak in & decipher the lyrics, even if there may not actually be an explicit message being sent. it fits so well with the theme, and really makes it memorable & enjoyable to listen to.
also i guess that means this is now about 6-7 months later and i still can't stop listening to it. every time it comes up, be it a youtube recommendation or on my phone's local playlist on long drives between jobs, i always listen to it once, and usually loop it a bunch because it just feels so nice to listen to.

Wow, the harmonies are so unique when compared to the instrumental! Like, you took a normally bluesy melody and harmony and put it a very electric instrument. At first I didn't think it would be so good, but of course, you /are/ replacer, after all. You have a true gift for composition. I look forward to your future content!
