Trust me on this one. It's MUCH easier to pass the written test then the actual road test (at least in my state NY). Rote memorization is enough to pass a written test. Simple write down the topics on flash cards and memorize them. Also, do as many practice questions as possible.

I saw 2 questions on another DMV Q/A youtube channel that threw me: 1) If you're driving on a ONE-way street and an emergency vehicle with flashing lights is behind you, you should: a) pull over to the right and stop, or b) pull over to the nearest side and stop. The correct answer was b, but I can't find reference in the CA DMV handbook. Other question: 2) When driving in heavy rain, you should: a) drive in the tracks of the vehicle in front of you, or b) pull over and wait for the rain to stop. The stated correct answer is a, but again, I can't find reference. Some of these other websites have incorrect info so I'm not sure?

There’s this wired question I found in a video that someone failed the test and it’s said “How many inches of cargo can you have at the side of your car”? And the answer choices were 12 inches, 6 inches or none

Hello and thanks for sharing! That's a tough one, but here you find the answer int he DMV Handbook:
      *Other Important Roadway Information*
You must NOT carry anything in or on a passenger vehicle which extends
beyond the fenders on the left side or more than 6-inches beyond
the fenders on the right side.
      Hope that helps!
