This video is so interesting!! I would've never guessed that taxidermy combined so many different skills. Bless her soul, she really does bring animals back to life. Animals that are forgotten, lost, or found passed... she restores their beauty and gives them a place to stand front and center! This is definitely a great video to learn from! So beautiful ❣️
The mixed lady with the Afro is gorgeous. But she did seem kind of stuck up/rude about the whole thing. That taxidermist seems like a really sweet lady. Good for her that she's following her dream! Always jealous of people who get to find their little niche.
She basically gives “dignity” to those death bodies. I would love to learn! It must be very interesting. I have some butterflies and a deer skull in my room and I would love to own some of those works.
I don't mind it so much, since she is giving the animal a second life. I also don't mind hunting as the animal has a good life. I am vegan but that is because of the way animals are treated in factory farms, not the fact they die.
So you support hunting for sport? As in, they have no good reason to hunt the animal, and they do it just for fun. Plus, the animal a person killed was most likely having a good life up until some person killed them. The animal that they killed could’ve had babies, and now the babies have to fend for themselves. You really have to think about all the possible situations.
mia that’s why hunting seasons exist to protect the young. Hunters don’t shoot deer in the spring, because that’s when they’re having babies. We hunt them in the fall because that’s when the fawns are old enough to fend for themselves and the rut is in full swing.
It just fills my heart more and more that someone cares so much to do this. :,) you dont know how sweet and gentle this is to build a memory of something that you loved soo much and wanting to keep them as a little piece. I want to do this with one of my guinea pig when they die, not because its fascinating, or curious.. but because i love them so much and i want to keep something to remind me of my sweet friend. Something i can keep forever
My rabbit that I LOVE dearly is 8 years 1 week...soon she will die ( I can't even think how I can survive...just typing this makes me cry) she had surgery when she was 4yrs old. She has travelled the world (Europe Portugal Spain Germany Italy France etc Israel , South Africa , Philippines Canada and USA ) I am from Spain..I wanna keep my rabbit with me until my last breath which it wont take long as I have heart desease....
Im very against killing for taxidermy but if the animal died naturally, I think it's pretty cool. Just have respect for the animal. Not going to lie, the process makes me squeamy as fuck.
im tolerant and not religious but in this case i have a feeling that you should let corpses decay to the ground. on the one hand they are pretty respectful to them but on the other... is treating a body (dead or alive) as an object respectful? its like interfering circle of life or something...
MiszzMiszz if you watched the video, you’d also note, it’s for science and preserving history too. Like he said, a taxidermist in the late 1800s preserved a bird which thirty years later, went extinct, but thanks to him, we could see this bird and study it, even though it was long gone.
I agree with both but even though they're giving a type of proof these animals lived I think it's pretty messed they decorate them with clothes and accessories.
But taxidermy only takes the skin and fur. The rest of the corpse can still decay naturally or be burned or whatever. I mean, yes, your skin is a part of your body but your body isn't your skin.
This is truly an artwork, beautiful and unique every time. A terrible choice of reporter however, picking someone who's so uncomfortable with death can sometimes work really well but not in this case. You can almost feel the taxidermist holding back because she doesn't want to make the reporter "uncomfortable" which sucks because it holds back so many emotions
I love animals, and I also like the expirences of dissecting things (animals that were dead).. I first dissected a pigs heart in fifth grade, I enjoyed it and was really interested. Since then I've been watching surgeries, completely interested on what was happening. Now, I'm going into eighth grade, and me, being a girl, I'm excited to dissect a frog. I mean, now a days I watch "how to skin a dear" or "how to clean a wolf head" and I never get disgusted.. unless I'm eating food and I'm thinking about that kind of thing. After watching this, I'd like to be apart of your classes for the expirence, and with the new information I can inheritage a new hobby. :>
Bruh u wash ur hands? This generation is a bunch of little bitches i swear. They think stuff just comes to you no u have to get down and dirty and work for it part of life.
Wearing gloves makes it more difficult to actually do the work. Through gloves you cant feel everything your doing and it makes it easier for mess ups. It's not you that's being asked to touch it anyway.

And I see nothing wrong with stuffing it as a trophy afterward because it is dead anyways. Not something I would do but I'm not going to prevent others from doing it in those cases.
trying so hard not to change the vid. love taxidermist, hate British chick.
Just to let you know that Britain is made up of 4 different countries, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. That young lady was English. :)
elena haines but she is still British though 😕

I wanna take one of her classes
Omg sane good thing I live in Chicago
The result is cool but the process is gross.
low key wanna be a taxidermist now. trying to figure out how to ask my mom if i can take a class..
Seems like a peaceful thing to do.
Lilith Nox I have 4 kids 😅 My youngest son just had a heart transplant, my oldest is autistic, I have another 2 kids a wife and a career on my plate.
Cam Eron wow! You seem so occupied☺ wish you and your family the best!
marigold Thank you 😄 I am quite busy.
ah yes. nothing more relaxing than pulling out a hamsters penis.
Anika Ahlstrom wouldn't know that myself, but it sure is an interesting skill to create such lifelike taxidermy.
Honestly, this was so eye-opening and it turned fascinating very quickly. Thank you to all who work for Broadly to show us stories like these.
No gloves!? #ImShook
Erikuh tell me you ain't never touched raw meat with your skin? She has access to soap. I don't see what the big deal is
of course we've all touched raw meat of any kind but we dont tear it away from the animal. so for me personally it is a big deal, because i'd never do anything like that, hence the #ImShook Now she does which is her personal choice and god bless her for it. have a beautiful day madeline :)
Yeah the fact that she wasn't wearing gloves made me literally want to vomit like I don't understand how she could do that I don't even like to touch raw chicken without gloves😂😂 but props to her for being able to do it
I didn't use gloves until I got West Nile from one of the birds I was working with
Then licks finger to turn page on book
I hate to be that person but what if there was taxidermist done on human 🤔😂
*_casually posing stuffed dead person in the living room_*
"no human was harmed in the process because they're already dead"
"we are thankful for the taxidermist 2019 for preserving this iconic individual because by 4039, not a single individual was born as iconic as this person was"
"I've done taxidermy on dead people as a hobby" _smiles while skinning human corpse_
yeah, sorry... enough internet for today...
actually someone I know, her friend went to mexico and her group didn't see her for a few days. They saw her in some car with glasses on and she would not wave back. They called the cops and come to find out she was killed, stuffed with drugs, and put into a car like a normal human so the drugs could pass the border. I wish I was joking but I am not.
Lol love it!
Ash o-o... I feel traumatized hearing this
@@Zia-ep3co yeah I was the same way. I was just sittin eating my food and listening to my brother and his friends talk about some trips for summer and she came outta no where with that. So now none of them wanna go to mexico lol
Google "Körperwelten" or "Gunther von Hagen"
This should be renamed *’The horrors of build a bear factory’*
Fleek Smith holy shit that’s so genius 😂😂
I'm screaming
I loved this video. It was so interesting and educational. It ruined everything I thought about taxidermy and I see it so much differently now.
Never thought i would consider taking a taxidermy class, but now i would like to. Thank you Broadly :)

tough to watch at some parts but really interesting! knew nothing about the taxidermy industry and it's cool that she's making it her own.
I'm a 16-year old female taxidermist (I'm a beginner, currently working on my second project). It's a pretty awesome hobby!
I don't think I would ever have the guts to do that! (Pun wasn't intended)
Very sweet video, and an interesting perspective.

hello katya :o
i do freez drying taxidermy
Привет!
Yay, we both have Katya profile pictures.
She basically gives “dignity” to those death bodies. I would love to learn! It must be very interesting.
I have some butterflies and a deer skull in my room and I would love to own some of those works.
This interviewer is always super rude. 🙄
Same :)
mia that’s why hunting seasons exist to protect the young. Hunters don’t shoot deer in the spring, because that’s when they’re having babies. We hunt them in the fall because that’s when the fawns are old enough to fend for themselves and the rut is in full swing.
Taxidermy is it's own kind of art
Anyone think of the short story "The landlady" or something like that when watching this?
OMG YES
theres a film adaptation?
AHAHAH memories
Wow Spooky omg........seventh garde, 20014, mrs.huffer......we read outloud.....i was the landlady.......THE MEMORIES
Yes omg
Clicked for the girl.
Stayed for the squirrel.
Wow
She reminds me of the lady from Paddington
Dollhousemadie 😂😂 but this lady is a little less creepy
Dollhousemadie yeah but the nicer version lol
im tolerant and not religious but in this case i have a feeling that you should let corpses decay to the ground. on the one hand they are pretty respectful to them but on the other... is treating a body (dead or alive) as an object respectful? its like interfering circle of life or something...
I agree with you if anyone dies don’t fucking go near them just let them peacefully decay on the sidewalk while you’re walking to the park
I don’t get why people hate taxidermy so much but they will go to a museum to look at animals that are stuffed.
If you think taxidermy is "abusive" "disgusting" or "fucked-up" why did you click on the video in the first place?
i don't care what people say, shes cute and passionate!
Interesting. Morbidly beautiful.
She has a lovely heart.
Post Production Manager: Michael Skinner. Mmmkay :D
I love this! I want to learn how to do this myself!
I like how in the beginning it just says “ No animals were harmed in the making of this video”
i like her and how passionate she seems about her work..
She's so cute.
When she said the jonas brothers i imagined nick Jonas skinning a deer
This is truly an artwork, beautiful and unique every time. A terrible choice of reporter however, picking someone who's so uncomfortable with death can sometimes work really well but not in this case. You can almost feel the taxidermist holding back because she doesn't want to make the reporter "uncomfortable" which sucks because it holds back so many emotions
The last part on kittens really hit home for me. I lost a pregnant rabbit and fed one surviving baby for 4 days only to lose that also.
I'm not sure how I got from searching the Met Gala to this but I'm okay with it
with all respect : hell no
Eva AET Ok understandable have a nice fucking day
HOLY WOW!!
I understand that you should only use animals that have died naturally!
That is amazing though!! Beautiful work!!
When I was younger I was scared of this but now that I know more about them I think it's really cool
I found this very informative :)Im just glad she got a new job right off the bat in this video :)
I'm so curious about one thing , are the dead animals' eyes real ? Or are they just beads or some shit
Nat n they're usually glass eyes! real eyes turn bad and get squishy and just go bad so they take those out and put glass eyes in!
Shadowfury KatrinaFTW thankyou for explaining (:
Nope they’re glass 😆
im ok with this aslong as they wear gloves. that disgusted me
Bruh u wash ur hands? This generation is a bunch of little bitches i swear. They think stuff just comes to you no u have to get down and dirty and work for it part of life.
Wearing gloves makes it more difficult to actually do the work. Through gloves you cant feel everything your doing and it makes it easier for mess ups. It's not you that's being asked to touch it anyway.
I Hate Agreed but disagreed. I don’t think that about everyone in the generation.
@@selenarivera123 "Bruh", attitude much? Smells like someone's snatch stank and it turned her into a sourpuss.

Thank you for the baroque music chosen for the video. That's amazing to discover by someone that's a musician like me and that really believes classical music can fit perfectly in the modern world.❤
Her hair is pretty not to mention her style so cute tbh I’m okay with what she does she isn’t hurting the animals because there already dead
