    A quick update regarding the release date of the Dukes - Due to the delay of SU15 from Asobo/Microsoft we are also going to need to delay the release of the Dukes unfortunately. Best laid plans and all that. You can read more about the delay and the reasoning here:
    www.justflight.com/articles/black-square-dukes-development-update-april-2024
    So our apologies, we hope to get things moving again just as soon as possible but as things stand we're reliant on news and a firm release date for SU15. Thanks for your patience.

    FINALLY a true machine simulated to absolute perfection build for engineers and electricians! So many people get bored by just role-playing pilot and flying through the skies with nothing to do and to check up there for hours because nothing deep and technical is really simulated in all the other planes - and therefore nothing can go wrong and nothing has consequences or damages an engine or other components.
    There are even psychologically rather interesting forum threads about this phenomenon when simming succumbs to let the autopilot fly for 15 hours and in the meantime leave the computer desk to go for a walk go shopping and spend time with the family and go to sleep. Because why even bothering to check anything inside the cockpit it is 100% foreseeable that nothing ever will happen in all flights, every single flight will always be the same no matter if it´s -45°C in the Arctic circle or over a desert area, every engine start is the same, no component ever will fail, nothing ever matters not even machine parts red-lining for hours will ever fail, nothing ever happens..... This is simply because all the deeper systems are never simulated in other airplanes, barely more than in arcade flying game like Ace Combat is (from a technical point of view) going on there under the nuts and bolts of the engine covers in most planes.
    But here we get a fully simulated airplane with all machine components fully simulated to the core. Every electric circuit cylinder or turbine stage is showcased on that EFB and we get hundreds of possible failures. All parameters and temperatures in the cockpit constantly need to be checked carefully - this attention to detail keeps every flight always extremely interesting and fascinating, and brings back the challenge and thrill and the feeling of really controlling and monitoring such a complex machine.
    I absolutely adore Black Square because it is the saviour of GA-flying :)
    I never even cared about GA-flying until Black Square came along with the wonderful Baron and Bonanza which was the first time ever a GA-machine was really brought to life and got made interesting challenging and realistic. But the Duke is absolute next level and the most sophisticated airplane ever simulated! Pure awesomeness, thank you so much for this HotStart Challenger quality contribution to MSFS!

    • @Mustang242Sqn
      @Mustang242Sqn 9 месяцев назад +1

      I suspect it may know which surface type you are on (tarmac, grass, gravel), so then it's just a function of prop parameters (and maybe wind speed & direction) as to how much you'll ingest. Using typical values based on real world data to simulate risk of damage over time.

I push the throttle to 100%, but the engines don't rev up, which is also audible, and I only roll down the runway at a very low speed. Both blue propeller levers are at 100% power and the fuel condition levers (red) are at high idle. Both starter switches are on GEN and the fuel pumps are off. Can someone please solve the problem? • @droge192

      He was not trying to start the engine in that sequence. He was merely demonstrating the fact that the props cannot spin fast enough for a start, due to aerodynamic forces. Whether the engine 'popped' into life or not was irrelevent for that demo.

  • @tedwaetford
    @tedwaetford 9 месяцев назад +10

    While I really appreciate the effort that's gone into creating the engine model visualizer in this and the Commanche, I personally don't use them as I find them immersion breaking and unrealistic. You have put an enormous effort into detailed physics modelling of the engine, I personally would prefer detailed training/information on how to detect eg thick oil, fouled plugs, fuel at pressure, vapor lock etc etc using sounds and aircraft instruments. And then only refer to the visualiser to confirm my "real world" diagnosis.

      On the contrary, there's something to be said for that approach. As flight sims have become more realistic, I try to carry out every flight to the fullest, but the effect is that I spend less time with the sim, because I now need a 1-2 hour window just to get a short 30-min GA flight in, what with all the physical control setup, pre-flight, warm-up and so on. Plus a little flight planning before all that. Satisfying, but sometimes it's worth flying the sim without a care or rules :)

      And I agree. It should be perfectly acceptable to expect a simulated aircraft, or a real aircraft, for that matter, to complete a failure-free flight.
      Lately, sim aircraft developers seem to have a fetish for "failures", purportedly to give simmers, most of whom have no real aircraft experience, exposure to how airplanes can "fail", in all the splendorous and/or catastrophic ways.
      For people who are gluttons for punishment, that's fine - let 'em have at it. But having owned and maintained two different airplanes I soon learned that IRL, maintenance can mean months of downtime and many thousands of dollars in expense - not a simple click of the mouse. It's an unpleasant memory I don't need when I'm simming. I turn it all off.

    • @Mustang242Sqn
      @Mustang242Sqn 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@Racklefratz thanks for an interesting reply, but I'm actually in the other camp. I want the 'realism', including the failure risks, because it gives me a reason to 'take it seriously'. Flying the sim without those risks makes it less interesting (for me), as I know nothing will ever happen (like driving a racing sim with no crash damage, or any other game with invincibility).
      I have not had the opportunities you have had, so appreciate your view differs and rightfully so. I'm at a point in life where I could consider learning to fly, but it's a hugely expensive 'hobby' and would impact my family, so it shall likely remain a dream that I fulfil via MSFS. In VR, it's leaps and bounds ahead of all the sims I've flown the last 25 years or so, and will only get better! :)

      If the videos that come out are previews, which these are, then avoid running to the store as it won't be available. The streamers are using preview code to supply you coverage. A method and mechanic we use for all our releases. It's not dependent on SU15 no but there was a serious issue that was only remedied with SU15 being present. We have worked a way around that for now, not ideal, but will work for all users, so expect a release soon. I'd give you the day, hour and minute if I could but just waiting for final testing to complete and a couple of things to fall into place and then we'll be ready to launch.

    why not recreate the Anologue C208 Caravan with this master piece engine sound?
    This Beechbracft Duke gives you the real feelings NOT that analogue c208 sounds 😜

    Please Fix the Spinners. They don't spin
    The propeller spinner does not spin after the engine is on. It becomes a static texture. I fly VR exclusively and this brakes the immersion.

      I think it is better this way, as the simulator isn’t that good in rendering fast spinning objects.

      You shouldn't be able to see a chrome spinner moving irl if it is installed correctly and the snout of the crank is true.

      IRL you can't perceive that spinner moving whatsoever. They're not going to make it all gamey just for VR users, after they've made everything else this realistic.
