Other bands may have come out with blockbuster albums and were bigger for a few years, but Dio and Sabbath were constant in their production of great heavy metal, Dio until he died, Iommi until his bout with cancer. They continually assaulted our eardrums and senses with great heavy fucking metal, and the world is now a much colder, darker place now that Dio is dead and Iommi has given up on the Sabbath name.

Sacred Heart is a magnificent album. It always gets slagged for being "commercial". I say fuck no to that. Constantly in the shadow of Holy Diver and Last in Line. It deserves more than that. My second favorite Dio lp after Dream Evil.

To paraphrase Paul Stanley, "When you're at rock/metal concert, you're NOT JUST LISTENING WITH YOUR EARS, you're ACTUALLY "LISTENING" WITH YOUR EYES-and when a rock/metal concert isn't "VISUALLY EXCITING or STIMULATING," and all you're left with is "just merely listening to the music," you're "not quite as forgiving."
