What is the cure rate and what is the average life expectancy port treatment vs the life expectancy of the dog? We suspect nasal CA in our dog and I don’t think I could stomach watching my old man (13 years old) deal with the stress and psychological trauma just to buy me more time.
I love him enough to let him go 😔

Hi Claudia - that can vary depending on the exact type of cancer that the dog has in their nose. We are so sad to hear that you and your dog are going through this, but know that you will make the best decision for him

Treatments today include toceranib and palladia that cut off the circulation of the tumor. I have a miniature schnauzer being treated for this nasal cancer and has taken the Navy Protocol (cocktail) now for a week and the dog's nose has been bleeding much less every day now so I think this is working. Comes in a capsule and costs about $158 for a month supply, 6o capsules. Readers might want to look into this as it's considered an alternative to radiation and surgery. The dog is about 14 so I am hoping this is going to work. The only side affect is decrease in appetite, although feeding him small amounts three times a day seems to work for now. He has sinonasal spindle cell sarcoma, FYI. Has had this sarcoma roughly 6 weeks now and is doing quite well for the most part. He is also on Yunnan Biayao as well to help clot the cancer and prevent bleeding. It appears to be working as well but very slowly.

Wish I had seen this a few months ago. We recently had to put our 14 1/2 year old Shih Tzu down. She had a nasal tumor. Terrible end for the world's sweetest, calmest little dog.

Hi there. Sorry for your loss. At 14 1/2 years old, would you have put him through chemo/radiation?
